1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2020

Getting gas and it keeps clicking,.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2013

It appears in my investigating this through online searches and forums, there are 1000's of gm vehicles that have had their speedometers quit working and is quite a money maker for gm and their dealerships, since they 'have' to do it so it can be reprogrammed for mileage authenticity! with these 1000's of gm vehicles having faulty speedometers, or other faulty gauges. . . Mine is stuck on 120mph!! definitely a safety issue when u really don't have any idea how fast you are going!! I think this is something they are well aware of, and not because of normal use and wear!! my 2005 GMC Yukon denali would cost $510 + tax and have to b sent away to b repaired. . . . Please investigate this and add this to all the other problems gm is having and let's not put it to the consumer like they have and are doing! thank you!!.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2013

Traction activation engages for no reason usually when starting from a stopped position and vehicle reaches approximately 15 mph. The gas pedal locks up briefly and engine appears to want to die, within a few seconds the activation light goes back out and truck if fine. If I drive an hour this problem occurs 3 times. My mechanic advised no recalls for this problem from GMC. The car was checked twice within a week after the check engine light kept coming on, but when tested with the diagnostic testing equipment I was advised it's a censor problem, but the denali has 4 censors and the tests can't detect which censor is bad until it goes out completely. I will contact my local GMC dealer but, from checking several complaints from persons experiencing similar problems I am very concerned about being taken for a ride. Now I have to worry about being involved in an accident while I'm waiting for this censor to totally go out. GMC knows people are having this problem with traction censors and should do the honorable thing by recalling these vehicles before a serious accident occurs. The average citizen who purchases a vehicle in good faith shouldn't have to pay hundreds and or thousands of dollars while mechanics keep charging you for tests that aren't solving the problem. GMC should replace all the censors since their tests can't detect which one is bad.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2012

A friend of mine just showed me a letter he got in the mail that is a recall to fix the reduced engine power code that shows a throttle body needs repaired. . The letter says to bring his vehicle in if it is a gm or chevy model less than 10 years old and less than 150000 miles and they will fix it for free. I contacted gm to see if my GMC was on the list and they told me to take it to a dealer and have a diagnostic done. I have already had one done and the codes keep changing, and from what I have read the gm site and other forums gm does not know what the problem and will not recall it unless they have to, my brother is also a mechanic and had it looked over by our college mechanic shop. Still no relief, I am not willing to spend $5000 and it still not fixed. . So I guess since something like it is recalled and I get into an accident because it reduces power on the interstate doing 75mpg, ill can to take legal action? I can't drive it half the time because of the problem. In the summer it starts with reduced power because its 90 degrees outside.

5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/26/2011

While driving from chicago to milwaukee on 1/26/11 my speedometer started to indicate very abnormal speeds. My portable gps indicated I was traveling 62 mph yet my Yukon's speedometer read 110 mph. When I reached my destination in milwaukee and turned my Yukon off, the speedometer remained at 55 mph. I immediately googled faulty Yukon speedometers and found a large quantity of sites containing defect information about GMC Yukon's speedometers. I also read that gm supposedily sent out letters to customers. I can assure you that I never received a letter about this. Having 3 small children I would not let something as serious as this go unfixed had I been made aware. I am now at 96,000 miles and see that gm's "recall" ends at 80,000 miles. It would have been nice to have been notified so I could have had this repaired. This is exactly one of the many reasons people have lost faith in gm and other american car manufacturers.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2010

The control panel on my GMC is freezing, the speedometer is freezing so I cannot tell how fast the car is going. The oil gauge has frozen and the dashboard keeps changing it light intensity from very bright to going dark when I'm driving sometimes occurring on poorly lite streets and parkways.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

For approx8 months my speedometer has not work properly. As I'm driving the "zero" may be anywhere from real zero to 120 mph. It is very difficult due to the sensitivity of the rpm gauge to tell me exact speed. Currently I drive with a garman that tells me how fast I'm going. I've found lots of information related to speedometer issues on 2005 gms Yukon denali. The dealership says there was a recall but the speedometer but I had exceeded the mileage. What difference does that make? the dealership says it would be about $350 dollars to fix the problem. I want to know what the problem is but diagnostics also carry a pretty hefty fee.
