The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle outside near the sidewalk and turning the engine off the son exited the vehicle. Approximately 5 minutes later smoke and flames were seen coming from the frontend of the vehicle. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the flames. During the failure the vehicle was destroyed and later towed away. A fire report was taken at the scene. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.
The security system engages while driving and the vehicle locks all doors and prevents the windows from opening dash stops working cant tell how fast your going and when you stop the vehicle and shut it off none of the electric locks work or the fob you have to unlock the vehicle manually to get out.
The rear access window open when I'm driving or if the vehicle is parking and no running the rear access pop up and get open.
Vehicle is not safe ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
No one will get the parts in to repair my airbags and it's been years. Its as if they want me to get rid of my truck but I don't want to. There's also a recall on something smoking and the year starts at 2007 yet my truck isn't included which is very strange some I just had this happen to me on 2/9 and had to have my truck towed and repaired at american petroleum on quarterfield rd.
Gm recalled the takata airbags almost 4 years ago with no fix for my vehicle yet. This is a safety hazard. Also, all the warning lights are lit on the dashboard but no codes are stored. Bad ground.
When driving, if adjusting steering wheel position ip or down, all dash board lights illuminate and engine shuts off. I shift into neutral and re start engine without issues. This happens every time I move the column.
The plastic dash board has been cracking over the years. It is now breaking into jagged pieces that are free to fly around the passenger cabin. Cracked pieces around the air bag pose a potential problem to the eyes and face of passengers in the event of a crash. Electrical wires are also exposed to uv light causing premature failure. This vehicle has been meticulously cared for with no other major failures to speak of. I believe that the potentially dangerous dash situation has been caused by substandard materials used in manufacturing.
Was driving and stabilization got turned turned off. The engine power got reduced. Decreasing the car's power dramatically then eventually not drivable. This is very very dangerous because was driving on the freeway. I was fortunate enough to make a smooth lane change to the side to stop the car. But if I couldn't and there was a lot of cars, this would of caused a massive accident. I feel from my research, GMC should be responsible and fix this! very angry because it had happened twice now!!!.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon denali xl. While driving 70 mph, the vehicle lost power and the engine power reduced message was displayed. In addition, the stability, abs, and traction control indicators illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 146,416.
Driving down roadway and hit pothole. Suddenly all curtain airbags deployed. Checked exterior of vehicle for damage but could not see any visible damage. Speed was estimated 50 mph. ---- seatbelts locked, electrical, interior lights and rear tailgate experienced issues after incident.
When we purchased the vehicle approx. 3. 5 years ago, it had a small crack in the dashboard. Last December, it was noticed that the crack had gotten much bigger, and now a second crack has been noted. This is becoming a major safety concern, as the dash may shatter in a front-end collision with airbag deployment. Upon doing research on;ine, I found that I am not alone. There are thousands of reports of similar issues among similar years and models. Please help me keep my family safe by requiring gm to provide a fix or replacement. Thank you!.
Cracks in dashboard. Digital display went out and wont show anything.
The tail gate came down and almost clinch down on my head the tail gate is malfunctioning.
When I'm driving at night the lights flicker this includes every light outside beams inside dash everywhere. It happens when it's in motion or not. This is a safety hazard because the flickering is a distraction to other drivers including yourself. When focusing on road all of a sudden they start flickering and it distracts everyone dramatically. I almost wrecked twice because of this and have told my dealer ship "trinity automotive" and they have yet to fix it.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon denali xl. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags). The part was not available within a reasonable time frame to schedule the recall repair. The manufacturer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. The manufacturer could not provide an estimated date for when the contact's vehicle would receive the recall repair. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v240000 (electrical system). The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Parts distribution disconnect.
Instrument panel is going out, one instrument at a time. First showing low oil pressure, stabilitrak warning, check engine, now it is the rpm gauge that isn't showing anything. Also have a huge crack in the top of the dashboard that's been there for about 5-6 years. I've seen online complaints off this issue.
Takata recall. Recall issued in 2016 but as of 12/04/2017 there is still not a solution. I have an airbag indicator light currently on and am afraid that airbag will not inflate when needed or might inflate when not needed. Also, in unrelated issue the entire display on the dash has stopped working as well. I have searched web and I do see indications that there are active recalls for electrical however my dealer says there are not any electrical recalls for my vehicle.
The brakes on my07 Yukon work intermittently. When driving the truck first thing in the morning at speeds of 15mph to 20 mph brakes fail to engage and have had several close calls.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 75 mph, the instrument panel gauges became inoperable and the vehicle shut off. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed but the failure cause could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000. Jo.
While driving on surface streets, the yellow abs warning came on, "stabilitrack" light came on. The warning lights started dinging, the transmission slammed between gears, the lights came and went and the door locks were going up and down continuously. Lost power also, pulled off and shot off engine. Truck would not restart as electrical system was dead. Same thing happened 10k miles earlier. This has happened 2times and the car only has 53,000 miles. Repairs took over 10 days as the engine was not communicating with the car. Replaced engine control module.
My wife and I had just purchased a used 2007 GMC Yukon. Little did we know about the major issue the truck has with the reduced power reading that comes up. I really think that GMC needs to put out a recall for these issues. My wife was on her way home from a work meeting and driving on the freeway with her sister and my wife's and my daughter in the GMC Yukon and she was doing the speed limit and all of a sudden she didn't know what was going on. She called me and she was in a panic. She had to pull off the freeway and come to a complete stop and when she did the vehicle had died it turned off and she had our 2 month old daughter with out a/c and in 100 degree weather. This issue puts the people's families at risk that own these vehicles and also other drivers families at risk you can not replace a persons life if its taken away and the hardship it causes but you can replace a vehicle so why not come up with solution so the road may become a little bit of a safer place. When my wife had this happen other drivers were not courteous or understanding when someone puts their hazard lights on that something is wrong, they just kept flying past her. Now with several people having this same issue with the same gm make this issue should be resolved. I have looked up and saw chevy doesn't have this issue and chevy is the same company. If the national highway traffic safety association could create this recall and they could use the same part from chevy then surely this issue would be fixed and it would be a safer vehicle. If you were a company owner wouldn't you want to stand by your companies production and create solutions if there were these common issues? wouldn't you want to help make the road a safer place by one little fix? it wouldn't.
Sterring wheel heater became very hot then blew fuse. I was driving the vehicle though I had only gone a few miles from my home. I was on a city street going about 40 miles per hour but not turning sharply. I have nothing to photo.
The GMC continues to randomly not start or deactivate the stabilitrack, anti-lock brakes were disabled, and the check engine light are all on. This problem happens almost every day and the dealer is unable to identify the source of the problem after several attempts.
Vehicle ignition randomly doesn't start and/or vehicle drive strange with traction control and or transmission acting weird. After 5-10 min, I turn off vehicle and restart and it operates normally again. Dealer has seen on multiple occasions and can not explain the problem.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Yukon excell. The contact stated that key was hot when it was removed from the ignition. The contact suffered injuries to the finger. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacture was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 49,000. Li.
This has now happened several times since, at no particular speed. I will be driving and all of a sudden the stabilitrak lights and traction control lights come on, and the engine begins to run very hard and will not accelerate very quickly and cannot reach full capacity. This is somewhat scary as it has happened on the highway several times, as well as just driving around my residential area, always with my kids in the car. Usually once I turn the car off and leave it for a little bit, then restart it, the lights are off except the engine light will stay on. It seems to me that many people are having the same issue with this model and that GMC should be taking this safety concern very seriously as not being able to accelerate on the freeway is definitely a huge safety issue.
My driver's side electric control panel stopped working abruptly. One morning, I got into my car and immediately noticed a burining smell. I turned the car on and tried to open the window. I was unable to open either the driver's side window or the passenger's side window. Additionally, I was unable to lower the back passenger window and the power door opener was not working on the driver's side. I called my local GMC dealer and they examined the car. They told me that water got into the casing in the elecrical switch control panel causing an electrical short. They also stated that this was a problem with Nissan suvs and isuzu suvs and was the subject of a re-call. However, since my SUV is a Yukon denali, it is not eligible to be fixed under the re-call. They took the control panel apart and showed me a small white plug inside the control panel that was burned, brown and melted on the end. They disconnected this plug and told me that it was too dangerous to operate the car with it plugged in. I told them that I do not understand why they would not repair this obvious safety hazard simply because it did not occur on an isuzu or a Nissan. They told me that, in fact, the Yukon denali is similar to the recalled Nissan models but they cannot fix the electrical short unless it is a specific subject of a re-call.
Driving through town when the car started slamming into gear. Right before, the abs warning light came on and the dash said "stabilitrack disengaged". Car started beeping and lost power. When I was able, pulled over and shut down car. It would not start. Towed it to the dealer and they had difficulty diagnosing. Ultimately replace ip junction box and fp gateway. Same thing happened again 10,000 miles later.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon denali xl. The contact stated that smoke started to emit from the steering wheel, the dash board and the passenger side floor board. The failure occurred twice over a period of a year. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician stated that the module codes were not responding to each other. The manufacturer was not made of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,572.
Having alot of issues with traction control light coming on and off causing my truck to either shut off/stall or just not turn on than the check engine came on arggg. I took to dealers was told its my throttle sensor got it replaced $$750. 00 ughh then it happened again and then when I try and turn it on again it will flash traction light on and off so I turn it off then turn it on and it goes away, later comes on then off random times I checked this site since I seen news and seen other people having the same issue. And my cruise control wont kick in also my front dash has cracked on top of the odometer and it does make me worry if I ever get into an accident will the dash shatter completely?? other then that I love this truck really I do !! however dear gm stop being stingy and pay for your mistakes!.
I had just left the free way went onto a 2 lain road we were driving about 50 mpr then we lost engine power, all the dash lights came on ,we pulled over the car killed, didnt know what to do ,so we waited a bout 8 minets then turned the key, the car started and we went on our way,a few minets later it did the same thing, it did it 2 more times, took it to the shop was told it was a gas tank sensor ,$500. 00 stoud at the shop, and the car still has the problem, what happens if the engine reduces power while do 65 mpr down the free way, ? I think we have a big safty consern here, and gm needs to know, if they dont all ready know. . .
Stabilitrak off light comes on, followed by reduced engine power. Vehicle won't go over 30 mph then completely shuts down. Steering goes out and had I not been in a safe location where I could drift over to shoulder it could have been extremely dangerous.
Vehicle remote keyless entry fob non functional despite new equipment and multiple reprogramming. Coupled with tire pressure monitoring system malfunctions.
My wifes 2007 Yukon xl had a message that stated that the traction control was off and a reduction in power message while traveling on the interstate highway going 65 miles an hour during rush hour. When this message came on the Yukon came to a very dangerous reduction in speed and was very close to getting rearended by the vehicles behind her. She was able to pull over to the shoulder and was able to restart the engine and the message reset but came back on soon after she got back up to speed and the truck shut down again. I have since replaced the throttle body assembly and checked all ground straps replaced the battery and have checked the harness. The issue has continued and since my vehicle is out of warrenty it is getting very expensive to start replacing parts on the vechicle just to have it do the same thing. According to the dealership there are no recalls but there are several forums on line with people all over the united states that have the same problem with there gm products. This is a very serious safety issue that needs to be looked into, before somebody gets hurt or killed. Gm needs to recall their products that are involved and repair them. -.
