In these vehicles between two thousand and five and two thousand and seven are constantly, such as my vehicle, low oil pressure and lower rod bearing failure constant is which what I have and due to wiring cruise control becomes no good because of computer failure. I cannot afford to fix the lower rod bearings and notice that you have already a recall for trucks, twenty twenty one and up. But this problem has been ongoing from gm since twenty twenty five or more. I also took my vehicle in for an airbag recall. And after that, I still have an airbag light on after they fix the airbag recall. 0.
In June 2021 at approximately 168,000 miles the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure while driving. I was forced to replace the engine at my cost as it was out of the original warranty. I was told the cause of the engine failure was due to low oil pressure over an extended prior of time from worn engine bearings which resulted in a dropped value in cylinder #7 and #8.
Traveling at about 25 mph in a residential neighborhood, the engine and stabilitrak lights came on and power abruptly cut out. Luckily no one was behind me and I was safely able to pull to the side of the road. I can only image what might have happened if this had occurred on a busy freeway or a crowded intersection.
While my wife was driving on the interstate highway at 55mph, the SUV check engine light came on, followed by a traction control warning on the display, then the vehicle went into "limp mode", reducing power and speed to approx 20 mph. She turned on the hazards, and moved into the right lane as other vehicles went around her at the posted speed limit as the engine was bucking and missing. She exited the highway and limped the truck, barely getting up to 20 mph to a service shop. They scanned the codes, the only one there directed them to change the throttle body, ($580). The vehicle ran good for 3 days, then all the same bells and whistles came back. GMC service said they have no knowledge of a problem. Upon researching this online, I found it's far from uncommon. If this has not caused an accident yet, its only a matter of time. .
2007 GMC Yukon denali. As I was driving. . . Engine light came on, following with vehicle stability control, traction control disable then reduced engine power and it wont let me drive more then 20 mph. Took it the dealer, replaced terminal wires, replaced bcm module ($1100). Two days later same lights comes back on dashboard. . . Took it to the dealer and they told me I need throttle body replaced ($631). Then even more issues came, as you stopping for the stop light, but the truck jerking forward while foot on break and as stopping it makes a thud noise when slowing down. Contact gm said they'll be able to help me out but then they decline for any help and simply told me there is nothing they can do. Now dealer is telling me I need breaks, ball joints, up control arms, shocks. Truck has under less then 100k miles and most of these should last more then 100k. Even dealer admitted by saying ive never seen Yukon denali going back. Its a saftely issue. My wife will not drive this truck any more with 3 kids in it and now it just sits in my garage while making payments to this truck. Its ridiculous! im sure there are someone out there that can help us and others who are going through the same issure before gm get a lawsuit and have blook on their hands.
The bolts in the manifold sheared off.
The contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon denali. The contact stated that the chrome plating on all the interior door handles were peeling causing the contact to sustain minor cuts on the hand. The contact mentioned that medical attention was not required. In addition, the contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the engine power down warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated to 20 mph. The accelerator pedal was depressed but failed to respond and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and the failure persisted. On another occasion, the air bag warning light illuminated. The failures occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the intial failure. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.
I took the vehicle to my local GMC dealership located in ithaca, (maquire chevy-Cadillac) near ithaca mall. The vehicle engine sound like if someone was hitting the engine with a hard object, all the lights on the dashboard come on. The service tech told me that they would fix the problem, later that night I picked up the vehicle and drove less than a mile from the dealership and the same noise came back on. Drove back and complain of the problem that being fix and was given a rental car. The next day I was told by the service rep. That a lifter had went on the engine and it would cost approx. 1,600. 00 to fix that problem but when not guarantee any other problems. I took the vehicle to a outside mechanic who advised me that it would be cheaper to put a new engine in it. The service manager looked up his screen and advised me that the vehicle had no recalls on it. I paid $4,774. 84 for a new engine, but GMC did not stand by their product. All I want for labor is $600. 00 and 203. 00 for the rental car. I have receipts to show what was paid and the break of what needed to done to engine. I contacted GMC 1-800 number which was a joke, they listen but refused to do anything. I needed the vehicle to be fix, which was an emergency. Please help.
I had stopped at a 4 stop intersection. I took off and there was a sudden jerk, like I hit something or someone hit me. The car stopped suddenly, I tried to accelerate, the engine revved without acceleration. I put car the in park and back in drive, car did not move. I put it in reverse, had no problem going back but was in traffic and close to an intersection so it was unsafe to go back. Called "aaa" for tow. Cops came; they had me put car in 1st gear. Car was fine in 1st and 2nd gear. Drove car to parking lot. Cop stated that I had a transmission problem. Had car towed to GMC dealership. Next morning (may 7), dealership stated that it was a broken forward sprag but they needed to go deeper to see if there was more extensive damage to transmission. Asked how much, he said maybe 2000 to 4000. I called GMC home office and spoke with a rep. Let her know that my car was only 6 yrs old with low mileage and I didn't understand why I was having transmission problems. She called dealership and was told the same thing that I was told. At this point I didn't trust to deal with GMC so I decided to remove my car from the dealership. Received a call from dealership 2 hours later stating that they had authorization from GMC home office to offer me assistance of 40% off the total price. They said that it may be between 1500 to 3000. I had my husband call and they told him that if there was not extensive damage from the "broken forward sprag" it might be cheaper. Received call from dealerlship on may 8, no extensive damage, only replacing the "forward sprag". I am grateful for the assistance of 40% but I'm still upset that I have to repair the transmission on this car. It's not that old and I barely drive it. I've checked the web and have noticed other owners with similar problems. I was told to file a complaint with this agency and maybe it can be investigated.
Stabilitrack light and check engine light illuminates while driving down the highway. The car goes to idle and has no power to accelerate, almost got rear ended by another car. Once pulled over to side of road, shut engine down and waited 15 mins to restart. Stability track light and check engine light remains on and car accelerates normally. This has happened several times and is an extreme hazard! I have read numerous accounts of this happening to other owners of this model vehicle and dealer has no resolution to fix the problem, they just charge consumers for parts that are not really resolving the issue. This is dangerous for all drivers and will cause a fatality in the near future, something needs to be done!!!.
Diagnostic code p0121 - throttle body it is a common issue among all denali owners and is covered under warranty. But if this issue is known by the manufacturer this should be a recall as this could cause an accident. Solution is to replace the throttle body (which are currently on back order) dealers will charge between $95 & $110 to diagnose the problem and determine if it is covered under warranty. Owners should be weary of dealers trying to charge for this fix. Especially of the denali is under 100k miles.
I was driving on the expressway at 70 mph and the car completed shut me down to 50 mph in a matter of seconds the check engine light came on then the service traction control, traction control off, service stability track, stability track off. I took to the dealer and had over $1100. 00 worth of work done including the throttle body. Here we are 5 months later and I am on the expressway car shuts down again and the same warning signals, check engine light, service traction control, service stabilitrak light comes on again. I also have a problem with oil consumption barely make it 1000 miles on a new oil change when the check oil light comes on, when you check the oil there isn't even any oil on the stick.
Stabilitrack automatically shuts off at various times and signals on dashboard to get serviced. When stabilitrack is off transmission shifts very roughly and car lurches forward. Date of occurrence is approx but has been happening ever since.
I placed the shift in park, stepped out of the car (it was dark about 10pm) and was imediately knocked down. The car backed over both legs and into a ditch. I hit my head and was unconcious for 15-20 minutes. I am recovering slowly. I am sure I put the car in park-at least I thought I did.
2007 Yukon goes into reduced engine power on a regular basis. As a result, there was a crash on one particular incident. On a daily basis, it continues to and the engine cuts out as a result as well, no rhyme or reason. On the interstate, going 70 miles an hour the vehicle cut off, went into reduced engine power and myself and my family were just seconds short from losing our lives. This has all been reported to gm and we've gotten no resolution. Motherboards, gas pedals, gas caps, wires, everything you can think of has been replaced on my vehicle and it still goes into reduced engine power putting my families lives at risk. This is an extremely dangerous situation.
Vehicle downshifted and accelerated while coasting at around 45 miles per hour. Foot off accelerator. Applied brake and car returned to normal happened on Wednesday June 2, 2010 near labadie missouri and on Friday June 4, on interstate 55 north of midway airport in chicago.
Vehicle went into reduced engine power and crashed into fence. Vehicle goes into reduced engine power after 22 repair attempts and on highway at 70 miles per hour with children in car this is an extremely dangerous situation. My vehicle was damaged from the reduced engine power and at this point it is unable to be solved permanently to stop the vehicle from going into reduced engine power. It does it whenever and wherever without knowing. Goes from high rate of speed to zero. Almost had a semi slam into myself on the interstate. I could not pull over. Have had every part replaced and dealership is at a loss. Needs to be a recall due to inability to solve the problem.
I noticed an approximate 4'' crack on my dash between the windshield and steering wheel hump. I then noticed a similar crack emerging near the top left portion of the front passenger side air bag. I thought maybe the employees where I get my car wash were applying too much pressure. However, after looking online to buy a new dash, I found that I was among many GMC owners that have the same issue. I dont think it is a coincidence that we all have the same cracks, in the same location on the dash. Also, the chrome plating on both my driver and front passenger inner door handles is peeling off. I heard that exposure to the sun may be a cause, however, my two front windows have had 5% tint on them since I bought it. Also, I just got my vehicle back from the dealership because of check engine light issues. The problem is fixed for now, however, after researching online it seems like there are hundreds of GMC Yukon owners experience very similar issues with their vehicle's engine. I keep reading about the "reduced engine power" and "service stabilitrak" warnings.
We were driving on the freeway 70 mph, when the anti lock brakes locked up, the Yukon started violently jerking around, the transmission was shifting very hard, then the car shut off causing no steering. All of this happened in a matter of seconds. It was an hour later before the car would restart and the transmission was still not working right, shifting gears extremely hard.
My name is mario moreno, I reside in tucson az, I own ad my wife and I drive a 2007 g m c Yukon slt, my concern is our Yukon seems to lunge at times, what I mean is, when we stop our s u v at stoplights, stop signs, or pulling into our garage the rpm raises to what I feel is an unsafe levle . Which requires us to apply the brakes in a manner for which I and my wife feel is excessive pressure being applied to the brakes. We have expressed our concerns to our local g m c dealership more than five times in a one year time frame. Their responce is we and our techs, can not duplacate the issue we have expressed! we both feel this is an unacetpable responce. I know that the system inolved is non mechcanicle system that opperates the gas peddle it opperates the the accelorator peddle by the use sensors and or sending units. Please advise. Im we are very concerned about oue familys saftey. Yours truly mario moreno p. S thank you for your consideration.
