Noises During Shifting problems of the 2007 GMC Yukon

1 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2018

Tl the contact owns a 2007 GMC Yukon. While driving, a loud knocking noise was heard from the engine compartment. In addition, the traction control, engine, and stabilitrak warning indicators illuminated and started to flicker. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road and the gear shifter failed to move into drive. The contact had to drive the vehicle in low gear to his residence. In addition, the vehicle made a loud noise while idling. The vehicle was later towed to an independent mechanic who stated that, due to hard shifting, it failed to drive and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a local dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.

2 Noises During Shifting problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2013

Accelerating to pass a slow vehicle 40mpr in a 60mpr zone, while accelerating the powertrain failed no power in drive. While coasting on the shoulder I tried shifting to other gears - received power on second gear however rubbing noise and hardly any power. Luckily my dealer was within a mile of where this failure occurred and limped to the dealer in second gear at 25mpr.
