The amount of rust that has been exposed is absolutely insane. My adjuster found the initial section of rust when we had the Yukon in for repairs from a storm. In the past 2 months, the rust has caused a massive hole underneath the rear passenger's side door and we have had no choice but to get it repaired. The initial estimate for this single repair is going to be over $3400. This rust easily could've broken down further and gotten into the brakes and other components right behind it as it sits very close to the wheel well. This is an absolutely dangerous issue and should be addressed.
When driving between 40-70 miles an hour. I feel a vibration somewhere in the vehicle. The vibration feels like u are rolling over rumble strips. This happens time and time again on the highway, while in motion only.
The clear coat on my hood and roof is completely gone. I noticed the hood looked a little dull about 6 months ago and it progressively got worse. Now the pain is starting to chip. This vehicle is only 5 years old, there's no way the clear coat should be completely gone.
Lift gate is having trouble opening.
While driving approximately 60 mph on a deserted flat stretch of road surrounded by farmland, my sunroof suddenly exploded. The screen was open to provide light but the glass was shut. No other cars were nearby nor were any hills where a rock could fly from. It was just sudden. It sounded like a loud explosion and suddenly glass was flying all over the car. Fortunately, I didn't crash the car. Myself and my son who was in the passenger seat, we were both covered in glass.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that water leaked into the roof of the vehicle and saturated the air bag and the main fuse box. The contact stated that there was a TSB for the failure. The vehicle was taken to reno Buick GMC Cadillac dealer, located at 900 kietzke lane, reno, nv 89502, (775)-815-7660, where it was stated that the failure was a factory defect. The technician reached out to the manufacturer and, the manufacturer agreed to cover ten percent of the repair cost. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.
All the rubber window moldings are curling out under plastic trim both tail lights work intermediately.
Faulty, poorly made tail lights that need to be entirely replaced (not just the bulb) at more than $700 each. When spending so much on a car, this is literally insane not to be covered under any warranty. GMC drivers deserve more than this poorly made led light system. The plastic window trim pieces also detach due to cheap plastic clips. I've had to literally use double sided tape and glue to stick them back on a $70k+ car. It's hundreds of dollars to replace pieces that are literally part of the body of the vehicle.
There is a water leak in the roof, on the driver side, right above the a-pillar. This has happened on multiple occasions during a heavy rain storm. The leak occurs regardless of whether or not the vehicle is in motion. After taking it to the dealership for service, I was informed there was a manufacturer defect which could cause some gapping in the vehicle body roof ditch driver side, which may allow water to leak through. I am concerned for my family's safety as this situation could create mold and mildew in the interior liner. Also, it could potentially lead to a very dangerous situation if the gaps/voids in the body become larger, allowing water to leak through at a greater velocity during high speeds or on the freeway. I was also informed that this is a very common issue on multiple vehicles from gm during the selected model year. Dealer attempted to service vehicle multiple times but there is still a water leak.
Both brake lights went out. Dealer said had to replace entire fixture. Not covered under bumper to bumper extended warranty purchased. Safety hazard that many other 2015 Yukon owners have experienced. Trim/seal appliqu's around door windows also coming off and also not CO weed under b2b warranty. Shottily made vehicle.
My vehicle has a significant vibration when traveling 40mph and above with a rear window down. The vibration is also accompanied by increased cabin pressure. These issues are causing headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Dealership confirms issue and tried to repair, but unable to. The vibration started right after we took delivery of the car and has only gotten worse. We bought the car in October 2015 and the issue continues unfixed to this day after 5 visits.
My GMC Yukon xl vibrates badly at all speeds but intensifies at speeds between 40-55. The vibration can be felt through the whole frame of the car. The cabin creates a throbbiing sound, like a helicopter inside the car. The steering wheel vibrates. The car consumes oil at an alarming rate with no visible leaks or noticable exhaust. The car surges unexpectedly somethines around corners or backing out of parking spots. And the rear "clunks" when accelerating from a slow speed such as onto a highway entrance ramp. The rearview camera a is totally worthelss in low light levels and cannot be used for safe back up operations. Dealer has had the car for over 50 days and has replaced the transmission, replaced the torque converter, has replaced the struts and shocks and has changed fluisd as per gm instruction. In all this time and over 6 visits, they cannot fix and have told me that gm has said this is the "new normal". If this is normal, why did they spend so much to try and fix somethig that was not wrong? the dealer also told me that the rear view camera will not work properly becuase of all of the factory options on the car and that degrades the quoality of the image. Gm has not contacted me although I have requested through the dealer that they do so. I see this is a common problem with GMC cars of this years model. I woul dlike to see action taken against GMC to correct this or make me whole.
The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon. While driving at unknown speeds, the exterior window trim was falling off. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (lafontaine Cadillac Buick GMC, 4000 w highland rd, highland, mi 48357) where it was diagnosed that the vehicle trim needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue, but did not offer any assistance. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 52,000.
Vehicle vibrates during driving speeds above 35 mph. Had tired rotated and balanced, still vibrated, replaced tires and received 4 wheel alignment, still shakes bad. When traveling at speeds above 35, seats starts to shake as if you are traveling over a bad bumpy road. This occurs both on city streets and highways.
The exterior doors on the driver side made noise while in motion and we discovered the door jams had become loose or detached in spots. This is both driver side doors of a 4-door vehicle. We took it to the dealer and their invoice is quoted as follows "install left fr applique. Replaced the left front and left rear applique". The total cost was $164. 23. I am furious this wasn't under warranty or a recall. This is a 2 year old $60,000 vehicle and I'm upset we had to pay to replace these parts. I have contacted GMC who noted and recommended I contact nhta, which is the purpose of this complaint. The dealer told us they have replace many of these and it's not a recall item, but it should be. Thus, please note and investigate this further for possible recall and reimbursement. Thank you.
The vehicle has leaked water in the seams of the back driver side since the initial purchase. It has been repaired nine times by two different dealerships and it still leaks. The vehicle now contains a high moisture reading and was tested by a mold specialist and determined to have mold. The vehicle is currently with the dealership.
Window appliqués on both sides of vehicle became loose and were flapping while driving. This was concurrent with a very noisy cabin, likened to the sound of a window being open while traveling at highway speeds. These appliques were previously replaced by dealer after incidentally being found loose. The noisy environment in cabin is very loud and distracting, causing driver and passengers to get headaches and causing driver to become distracted.
My 2015 GMC Yukon xl with 5000 miles exhibits a buffeting / pressure sensation that can be felt predominately in the ears between 30 and 70 mph when only the rear passenger windows are down . After a short amount of time it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. Something is very wrong and must be fixed.
Vehicle exhibits a "buffetting" or pressure sensation that can be felt primarily in the ears between 40 and 50 mph. After any amount of time at these sustained speeds it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. This condition was confirmed by the dealer with 3 separate drivers including a tech, the sales manager, and the owner. Gm has a technical pi issued, as the problem is apparently relatively common in these vehicles. Suggested repairs include re-bonding the roof sheet metal to the frame, repair/replacement of the rear differential, replacement of the propshaft, repair/replacement of wheels and tires, removal and "relaxing" of the exhaust system, and more. None of which appears to solve the issue. A quick internet search turned up dozens of cases with this issue in just one website. Gm has manufactured a vehicle with a significant, known flaw that they cannot currently fix. This flaw should be considered a safety issue strictly based upon the physical symptoms triggered by the sensation within the vehicle.
Our vehicle has a significant vibration in v4 mode when traveling between 45-65 mph and above. The vibration is also accompanied by increased cabin pressure. These issues are causing headaches, nausea, dizziness, and are further exacerbating my wife's multiple sclerosis. We also have a popping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle's suspension when turning that makes us feel unsafe. The vibration started right after we took delivery of the car and has only gotten worse. We bought the car in April 2015 and the issue continues unfixed to this day. The popping noise started about 3-4 weeks ago and it sounds like a suspension component. Our ac recirculating feature also does not work and it allows harmful exhaust smoke in.
With all windows up, vehicle exhibits a buffeting / pressure sensation that can be felt predominately in the ears between 30 and 50 mph. Similar to when only the rear passenger windows are down in many vehicles. I second the fact that after any amount of time at these sustained speeds it begins to cause dizziness, ear pain, and headaches. Gm forums are flooded with complaints. This vehicle obviously was manufactured with a significant, known flaw that they cannot currently fix. This should absolutely be a safety issue strictly based upon the physical symptoms onset by the feeling within the vehicle.
All doors on the vehicle lock when transmission is put into gear and all doors lock several seconds after door is shut with engine off. The automatic door locks can not be deactivated by myself or by the dealer. I find this both a saftey issue and a inconvenience. As a commercial truck driver driven millions of miles I have both witnessed and have directly been involved with trying to get people extracted from wrecks. Due to locked doors in several cases this has not been possible without breaking a side glass and physically unlocking the door from inside of the vehicle. In one accident two people were unconscious after a crash with the engine running and a fire under the hood, the doors were locked. In another, a person was having an epileptic seizure after a crash and again doors were locks. In the last example a man died after driving into a canal, rescuers were unable to break the glass in time to save the driver. I should have the ability to decide whether to have the doors automatically lock; not the manufacturer. The 2013 and older GMC trucks the automatic door locks can be deactivated but 2014 and newer gm refused to release the program to the dealers or public so I have no option but to drive with locked doors. I am asking to have gm release the program to achieve disableing the automatic door locks.
