Yes, that case number would be 91762225 (with gm). You are most welcome. Thank you for contacting Chevrolet customer assistance and have a nice day! please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything else. Vin1gks2hkc8fr165487 special coverage adjustment n182180270 tail lamps inoperative having issues described by ntsa and vehicle has 62,000 miles but falls after the expiration date. I contacted gm and they were very nice but they were unwilling to help in any way. Any help would be appreciated.

2 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

Rear tail lights go out intermittently caused by a defect in the vehicle manufacturer’s process in which the circuit board is broken in certain areas.

3 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2024

My vehicle is currently in the shop getting the motor worked on for a bad lifter. From the information the mechanic provided me this is a common issue with the vehicles that have the active fuel management system. They are seeing many of these vehicles have to come in and have very expensive repairs. My first quote I received was $16, 000, they told me I needed a whole new motor and this assessment cost me $365 and a rental car while they looked at the truck. Now it is in the shop again and the estimate is $6000 to machine the cams as there are metal shavings in my oil. I had to again rent a rental vehicle and have not had my truck for a week. This is the third mechanic that has seen multiple of these motors have to be replaced or repaired due to this issue. I kept up on my oil changes and other recommended car maintenance and so did the owner before me. I had my last oil change approx. A week before the loud ticking noise began, then my vehicle began to have a noticeable loss of power when driving and eventually began shuttering and my check engine light began to blink and I took it to the shop. A year ago I had to replace my tail lights. I was able to find where others were recalled by my VIN for some reason was not included in the recall. They started shorting out and working only part of the time which is very dangerous when stopping, especially at night. I had them replaced and paid almost $700 for the two back lights.

The transmission fluid was flushed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission was fractured, and the light bulbs needed to be replaced. The transmission was not repaired or replaced. The headlights were not replaced. The dealer confirmed that the brakes were included in NHTSA campaign number 19v645000 (service brake, hydraulic) and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was driven to the residence without further repairs. The contact stated that the vehicle had become inoperable. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 195,846.

5 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2023

Both tail lights fail. I just bought this vehicle at ewald automotive in oconmowoc WI a month ago with 100k and I know they were aware of the problem and so is GMC. I am not paying 900 bucks for each tail light. They are absolute junk. The left side someone already messed with it because there is electrical tape on it. Ewald laughed in my face.

6 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2023

The brake lights intermittently come on and off. Not reliable and the entire assembly has to be replaced per light in order to work. Sometimes if you hit a bump it will work for a bit then go back out. They have been removed, cleaned, but there is no way to fix them without replacing them. This is a known problem with GMC and they will not warranty or recall this issue.

7 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/02/2023

The taillights started to randomly go in and out. The driver side taillight stopped working but the passenger side taillight still worked. Then a day later the driver side taillight worked, but the passenger side taillight didn’t work. The next day we were going to look into this issue, and the driver and passenger side taillights were working, so we halted. We kept an eye on it and they seemed to continue to work for a few days with no issues, so drove it 20 miles to work. When I left work it was dark and I had a coworker check my brake lights before leaving and the running lights and brake lights were indeed working. By the time I arrived at home, I had no running or brake lights. This is and was a danger to others and myself as this could’ve caused an accident driving and the taillights going out. The truck did not give a warning message that I had no taillights.

8 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2023

This is a common issue that is not being resolved by gm. First one, now both of my rear tail lights are malfunctioning due to manufacturing defects. This is a well publicized problem and I feel that gm should be responsible for continuing to ignore the issue. Replacement tail lights are approximately $750 each. There are many businesses that have sprung up solely to repair these tail lights.

9 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 05/15/2023

Both tail lights have stopped working. I purchased in 2019 with 60k miles and by the time the first tail light failed, I was over the 72k limit. If these lights failing was an issue before, it still is an issue and the special warranty should be extended to ensure replacement of faulty items.

10 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2022

Tail lights are very inconsistent of working or not working. Sometimes they work but most times they don't.

11 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2022

Numerous reports of taillights and headlights not working properly and no recall like it should be.

12 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2022

There was recall for n182180270 tail lamps inoperative, for some reason my vehicle being a 2015 was not included. This issue is ongoing with my 2015 Yukon denali and is dangerous while operating, it recently started and is intermittent. Also my vehicle has issues with hard shifting and jerking intermittently when taking off. . . . Also a known issue for this year and make/ model of vehicle.

13 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2022

Rear passenger running lights just stopped working. I have seen several people with the same issue. I think there should be a recall for gm to fix the issue they are clearly aware of.

14 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/08/2022

I received a letter from GMC dated December 2019 warning of brake lights intermittenly not illuminating. I have periodically checked the lights for failure over the last 3 years. On September 8, 2022, a motorist pulled beside me and informed me that my brake lights were not working. I confirmed that the lights were not working and called GMC regarding the letter I had received in 2019 and was told that a recall had not been issued and that my vehicle was outside the 6 year eligibility period. This defect is extremely dangerous to myself and others due to the inherent unpredicability and unreliabilty of an important safety necessity, I. E. , knowing that others will see that I am stopping/slowing down. I believe that due to the intermittent nature of the failure of a highly necessary safety feature, GMC should issue a recall to repair at no cost all vehicles.

15 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

Tail light failure with no ability to change out bulb. Entire assembly must be changed which costs nearly $1000.

16 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/16/2022

Led brake light wiring comes undone causing brake lights to go out.

17 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2022

The contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon denali. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact stated he was following behind in another vehicle and noticed that the tail lights were out. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed with failed exterior lighting assemble. The exterior lighting assemble needed replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated he had to replace the exterior lighting assemble three times since March of 2022. The contact stated that each time the vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 109,554.

18 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2022

I have had to replace both front and rear exterior lighting in past (3). Now my rear brake light is now out. This makes 3 exterior that I’ve had to complete replace. Went out suddenly. No way to replace bulbs, dealer reports entire assembly needs replacing at cost of almost $1000. There has to be a design flaw that every exterior lighting has gone out for so many owners and has to be replaced. There should be a recall on this. This model has had so many costly issues.

19 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2022

Both taillights and brake lights have gone out within 4 months of each other.

20 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2022

Driver rear brake led light not working.

21 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 11/14/2021

Break like when out and only solution iam being given is to replace the whole housing at 800$ and it seems this a faulty component.

22 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/06/2021

Driver side brake lights don't work again. This will be the 3rd time that I know of that this piece of equipment has been changed out.

23 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2021

Breaks are faulty, lights continue to go out in the rear after only a year after purchase. I’ve read other complaints about these issues. Could be wiring or electrical issue with the breaks. Engine sounds like a plane is about to take off, has had starting problems. Overall horrible vehicle. There are a lot of problems with the vehicle, the lights are extremely dangerous as person behind would not know if I’m stopping when they fail to work and can cause a serious accident. Engine is a major concern as well.

24 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2021

Right brake light and tail light quit working for a few days, then returned to normal operation, both worked fine for a week then the left side went out and also returns for a few days. Now both are out except for one led per side per cluster. No brake lights except for the one over the gate. And turn signals work as they should.

25 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2021

Tail lights don't work. Have seen several complaints about this problem. There is currently a lawsuit concerning this. GMC will only cover replacement if car has less than 72,000 miles. The replacement lights cost about $800 each. Having it looked at now. Fear that I will have to pay replacement costs.

26 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2021

Brake lights - left brake light works intermittently, and often does not work. 3rd brake light (top center) has quit working. Both are issues with cracks in the circuit board, which googling has shown to be a known issue. Faulty, poorly designed or constructed parts!.

27 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/24/2021

Led brake lights fail due to design error typically on both side of the vehicle. I have found multiple reports of a failure on a circuit board that was poorly designed. A copper tracing is very narrow and fractures due to vibration resulting in brake light failure. Because the entire module must be replaced the repair costs $800-$900 per side.

28 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2021

Tail lights are not functioning properly. N182180270 was issued due to very common issue but no recall. The special adjustment only covers up to 72,000 miles. I now have 106,000 so not covered? serious safety issue if brake lights are malfunctioning and gm aware of issue. If technician checking lights and they are intermittently working, then I drive away from dealer and they intermittently no longer work, that is a serious safety issue and a recall should happen. I took my vehicle in for an oil change and on the drive to have serviced I was told by my wife driving behind me that the right rear brake light wasn’t working. I asked tech to check. Technician confirmed but states left isn’t working either. Yet on drive to drop the vehicle for oil change the left was working. And we have a time stamped photo as proof(attached). I had someone tell me right rear brake light was out a couple of years ago but when I had it checked, all were on. So when are they working? when are they not working? and that is why a recall should be issued. Correct a faulty design. These aren’t an easy fix of replacing a bulb. The whole unit has to be replaced at $700+ each. How many people are out there driving with these intermittent brake lights? we periodically check our lights to ensure working. But if these lights are on/off intermittently, that does very little good. Scary!.

29 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/19/2021

Stop and tail functions inside the tail lamps have become inoperative. Purchased vehicle used and falls just outside of the special coverage adjustment; n182180270. This is still very much a safety issue, even though it's 1 month longer than the 6 year cutoff.

30 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2021

Tail lights keep going out and have been replaced.

31 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 10/12/2020

Rear brake/taillight assembly not working consistently in motion.

32 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2020

Led brake lamp went out at 42k miles, but gm requires replacement of entire tail lamp assembly at exponential cost.

33 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2020

Steering locks up at lower speeds or when turning into a parking lot all the ligths shut off at the same time the steering does it has happened more at night lights flicker both interior lights and exterior lights a/c shuts off radio shuts off I have went to different dealers and have not been able to fix this problem even doh I show them videos of what it does both my wife and I have almost had a few accidents because of this.

34 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2020

Left rear light assembly intermittent open circuit. Wiring checks okay. Good power and grounds. Noted that the lamp housing has evidence of corrosion at the base of the main connector. The housing is a sealed unit (no serviceable parts) so the nature assembly needs to be replaced. I am a 37+year a. S. E. Master technician and state of michigan master technician so I am well seasoned at proper auto/light truck electrical diagnosis. The light will go out while siting still and/or in motion. This is a safety concern for obvious reasons.

35 Exterior Lighting problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

Rear tail lamps both sides are out.
