Drivers side tail light intermittently works, doesn't work all the time. Passenger side brake light stays on continuously, never changes.
Tl-the contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon xl. Contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, a bystander informed the contact that the rear external lights were out. Contact got out the vehicle noticed without waring that the exterior lights were out. The vehicle was taken to the dealer gunn Buick GMC 16440 interstate 35 frontage rd, selma, TX 78154 (866) 468-6484 where an diagnosed test was repaired and determined that the exterior light assembly was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. However the failure recurred intermittently several times. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. Ck.
I have a 2015 Yukon denali xl with 53k miles. A couple of months ago one bake/taillight starting flickering. It would work at times and then not at all other times. Last week, both of the bake/taillights went completely out! I have no lights in the rear of my vehicle. I was pulled over twice in one weekend for this!! I was driving down the highway at night with my children in the vehicle not knowing that both of my lights were now not working! it doesn't seem that they are burnt out because it I mess with them from the outside, they will flicker a little bit. Of course factory warranty is expired and new lights are at least $800 a piece!! this needs to be recalled as this is a serious safety issue!.
Stop light dont work.
Taillight is out on my vehicle. The lights are led and the car is only four years old. Replacement is $500-750 for a taillight!.
Driver side break light works intermittently. After researching multiple owners in similar model years have noted the issue being inside of the light itself having an electrical issue. But the dealership wants $750 for a new one when the problem is wide spread, needs to be recalled and made right.
Passenger break light works inconsistently.
The rear taillights go out unexpectedly and can not just replace bulb.
I have been having issues for about a year with the lights working intermittently. As of today, June 12 2019, they are out completely!!!! after going to a local mechanic he said the whole circuit was gone & would have to be replaced!!! I am in between jobs and do not have 2000. 00 dollars to fix said problem. I have found several message boards who have all had the same problem with no help what so ever from GMC!!!!! this is ridiculous. When you may thousands of dollars for a SUV you expect it to last longer than 88,000!!! this isn't the first problem I have had with this SUV. So this needs to become a recall issue and GMC or the part supplier needs to fix this.
Taillight assemblies keep failing. Dealer replaced one under warranty, but other now failed and charging $800+ to fix. Defect in design/manufacturing of critical safety component. It's a common and known defect in the part. Our other Yukon's have the same issues.
Purchased vehicle (used) from dealer less than 2 years ago. Driver taillight went out. Not covered under warranty but is a safety issue that according to several forums in a known problem. The taillight is architected, engineered, and built in such a way as to be very expensive to replace, break often, and discourage diy or non-dealer repairs. The vehicle was stationary when the problem was noticed.
Takata recall: I was informed today by another driver that both of my rear break lights are out, and I checked and dont have any rear break lights only the strip light up top works. I was driving on a city street and have only ever driver on city streets or highways. This is some bull crap considering the price of these vehicles and need a recall for the rear break lights, because they are $800. 00 to replace each break light.
Both of my taillights went completely out on my 2015 Yukon denali. I was told by a stranger who asked me to pull over that both lights were completely out (specifically inside our residential community). I have a four year old and a baby with my hands full. I was so grateful to the stranger that informed me- preventing a potential accident with my babies in the car. I called to see how much the replacement lights would be. With labor we were looking at $2,000 at the dealership! to me this was outrageous. . . Especially after doing research and seeing that many 2015 Yukon denali owners have the same issue and this is not yet a recall for GMC! when will the issue be recalled?. . . Heaven forbid not after a horrific accident from a blatant safety issue that they are not taking seriously! we proceeded to call GMC complaint department to file a complaint- the woman lied and told me she had never heard of this being an issue but even if she had she couldn't tell me. . . . Needless to say my complaint went upon deaf ears at GMC. I had no other choice but to order two new taillights through GMC. . . . Now that I am awaiting my order I'm thinking that I could experience the same issue with my new lights. Adding to my frustration, the parts department solidified that the taillight issue is incessant with this make, model and year. . . And they need to keep my taillights when they issue my new lights. I couldn't help but find this strange and became skeptical that they need to keep my faulty taillights. I'm frustrated and nervous driving my vehicle with my children. I'm worried for our safety and I pray my complaint is taken seriously. GMC needs to be held accountable for their faulty products. My left light is half way out now bc my dad tried to weld a bridge to turn the lights back on in the mean time. . . Didn't end up working.
Driver side rear taillight not working, was told it was a broken solid circuit by the dealership. They want close to $1000 to replace the entire assembly. This is a very well known problem that gm is not recalling!!!!.
Back driver's side brake led light out. Dealer wants $900 to fix. Common problem with gm faulty led lights.
Faulty brake-light and costly fix. Dealership has taillight on back order so a replacement isnt even available. Dealership wants $675 just for the part that cant even be ordered. Dangerous to drive the vehicle with no solution available.
Rear led taillights work intermittently. Found several forums where this happens to a lot of people. If you tap the taillight it sometimes begins working again. Truck only has 60k miles and gm wants over $1200 to fix (replace both taillights). Evidently there's a circuit board that goes bad inside. I had this at gm to be fixed but because taillights were working at the time, they found no problem.
Rear taillight randomly going on and off. Interior light randomly flicker, theft deterrent system often activates, vehicle dash systems randomly reset and most recently vehicle steering wheel locked and car turned off while I was driving with my kids in the car and in a school zone!!!!! this could have been tragic and was very scary!!!!.
Led brake and running lights intermittently work on one side, issue has gotton worse as temperatures have increased. Appears to work better more often at night. Occurs both when car is running and off. Others appear to have had a similar issue as a result of a cracked circuit in the light housing. It has been occurring for about a month.
We have had both our taillights fail. The blinkers still function but because they are led they say they must replace the whole unit. Each side cost $672. That is outrageous for a taillight. There needs to be a way to replace each piece.
My taillight assembly led lights have gone out. I've read about this issue and it's a common issue with this vehicle and the dealer charges close to $1000 per light to repair this issue.
The rear light went out. It cannot be fixed with the change of a bulb. The entire piece has to be replaced because it is an electrical issue. After looking online and talking to others with the same make and model, this is a common issue with this make/model that needs to be addressed and GMC held accountable.
Both led taillights failed within one month on a truck with less than 25000 miles.
There are numerous customers that are experiencing problems with the taillights on the Yukon denali xl. GMC is negligent due to the fact that this problem is a safety hazard and no recall has been initiated.
Left taillight went out at around 82,000 miles, first flickered for a few months, then went completely out. Within one week, the right taillight went completely out also.
The rear driver side taillight does not work. Took it to the dealership and they said it was a problem they saw frequently, to just hit the light and it might start working. Otherwise it was a 800 dollar light to replace. . . . If it is a frequent problem GMC should be fixing it. . . Are they going to pay for a ticket if I get pulled over or worse someone crashes into me? the problem comes and goes but has seemed to get worse and is not safe or legal to drive with the light how it is. Bad design of the light. And from what I have seen online I am not the only one. There a whole forums that people have the same issue.
Taillights working intermittent. This is a safety issue. I have google and there over a 100 complaints on car gurus with the same problem. This is a GMC safety problem. These Yukon's are expense and I should feel safe while driving it. Taking it to the dealership this morning. I am asking a customer of GMC--- do the right thing and look into this as someone is going to get killed - no taillights could be a life threating safety issue. GMC do the right thing. Look at all of the complaints with the exact same issue.
Our passenger taillight went out and the dealership cost to replace it was $811. I called GMC customer service and after 4 days and multiple phone calls the best they could offer in financial assistance was $80. I asked the dealership if I could have the broken light and they wanted me to pay $50 to take it with me. A google search turned up many instances of this happening. The dealership told me that they replace 1-2 per week. The taillight replacement on the Yukon family is a scam. It is unethical for them to charge that much for a replacement when it is inown to be defective. The car is less than 4 years old and has 66k miles and has not been in any collisions. Just normal routine use resulted in a costly repair and, more importantly, irresponsible customer service from the GMC employees who were in charge of handling my case.
Rear drive side break light is out because of poor construction.
This is the second taillight to fail. The passenger side failed at 35,500 miles in October 2018. The driver side has now failed at 39,000 miles and 4 months later. These parts cost $800 each to replace. A major repair cost on a vehicle with only this much mileage. A design problem obviously exists and this problem is a safety hazard!!! just waiting for a crash to happen to start a class action law suite.
Tail lamps would intermittently operate. At times none would work at others some would work. And others all would work. GMC finally addresses this with: n182180270 (special coverage). GMC was aware of this issue on or prior to November 26, 2019. They stated notifications to customers would begin on December 12, 2019. I was notified today 2-12-2020 well after GMC was aware of issues. GMC allows for warranty of 6 years after placed in service or 72,000 miles. Since my vehicle had 902 miles at time of purchase my warranty expired at 72,902 miles. Had GMC made me aware in December or too after knowing in late Nov 2019 I would still have been under warranty for a resolution to fix issues. There willful negligence in failing to notify me hindered their available warranty under special coverage of no use to me to my detriment of several hundred dollars (~$1800 usd).
The taillights will short out and stop working. The true signal works but the brake and running lights stop working. The touchscreen display isn't working on some parts of the screen. For example, I cannot change the time because the toggles to change the numbers up or down will not work.
Driver side rear tail gave out twice and dealership or GMC won't over with. The dealership them self said it was faulty and they been having lots of problems with there inventory.
Passenger side brake and tail led strip light short and goes out and stops working. Will work sometimes when back hatch shuts and jars it or I hit a bump. Dealership says light it out and needs replacing. Not sure why the light still comes on when jarred. Have extended warranty that was supposed to cover all this especially being electrical. Seems to be on going problem.
Issues with back led tail lamps not working. I have seen many issues with people having the same problem.
