Led brake lights failed in both tail lamps. Led is supposed to be a longer lasting alternative to standard lights. Unfortunately the way gm designed these you cannot service or repair them like you can with a traditional bulb. After much research it appears that there is a thin strip that breaks in the circuit causing both taillamps to loose functionality, there is no bulb out warning so the driver is not alerted. And with no brake lamps this could result in a crash or injury.
Tl the contact owns a 2015 GMC Yukon xl. While driving 60 mph, the rear driver's side brake light failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to five star Chevrolet Buick GMC (located at 495 watson blvd, warner robins, GA 31093, (478) 387-4424) where it was diagnosed that the brake assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred approximately 5 months later. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer for repairs and an oil change. The contact was informed that lifters on the engine and condenser line needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 96,000.
Air conditioning failure, condenser defective. Repair impossible because part has been on backorder for over a month.
Crack developed at edge of windshield at deicer strip. No apparrent cause such as rock damage. GMC will not cover this repair under warranty. My wife's 2015 Subaru outback received a warranty extension notice for this very defect stating that "during the mfg process certain compounds used to adhere the deicer to the windshield created a condition where the glass became more susceptible to cracking following a minor wound. " I'm quite certain this defect is the problem with my Yukon. Is it possible that Subaru and GMC windshields are provided by the same sub-contractor?.
When driving at highway speeds in the rain, water pools on the drivers side and passenger side door window at the bottom front of the window blocking the driver's view of either side view mirror. I went to the dealer in carson city nv, and service director stated they had this problem with trucks since 2007 and there has been no solution.
