In the last year, both of the rear tail lights have failed in my 2017 GMC Yukon. To have the dealership replace the tail lights it cost +$750 per tail light for a car that is only 3 years old. I work with led lighting and on average, led lights should last for 5000 hours of use. There is no way that in the last 3 years we have utilized 5000 hours of drive time to warrant that these led's should be burning out. I believe that the led's that they are using are defective and a case needs to be made to see if GMC is having issues with the rear tail light led's, the parts are way too expensive to be failing after a few years of intermittent use.
Upon driving vehicle water was observed to drip from upper left hand drivers compartment onto driver. The weather had previously been raining. Roof fabric was saturated and water was actively falling. The dealer confirmed the antenna assembly on the roof was a known failure mode for this hazard. Water can passively migrate through interior column. Vehicle had not been through any mechanical or automated washing system. Vehicle had not been subject to any external cause. Failure was caused by faulty manufacturing assembly process.
Rear tail gate comes down on you when putting in or taking out items. In garage and parking lot at the times. Happened several times in last month. Occurances are varialbe. Repalcing lift gate support and actuator did not help. In for service, unable to solve so far. Stated, working as designed.
