Warnings problems of the 2023 GMC Yukon

On August 17th, 2026 while approaching a nature preserve entrance at approximately 1 mph, my 2023 GMC Yukon denali ultimate suddenly accelerated on its own, without the driver pressing the accelerator pedal, striking a split-rail fence and a tree. Airbags did not deploy. The front collision system didn't issue any alerts about the fence and tree. A gm software update had been installed a couple of days before this incident . In the weeks prior, the vehicle had also intermittently failed to hold side mirror position and periodically failed to deploy the power running boards. I request that gm and NHTSA investigate a possible link between the recent software update and an unintended acceleration event, potentially related to the adaptive cruise control or another driver-assist/body control module.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the vehicle experienced a malfunction associated with a failed over-the-air (ota) software update affecting electronic control modules. The (ecm), (bcm), and related electronic systems appeared to lose stability during operation. The vehicle attempted to reboot while being driven and displayed multiple system warnings. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk?while driving, the vehicle began malfunctioning and attempting system reboots. The dashboard flickered, warning lights, and the vehicle exhibited unstable behavior. During a prior event, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and abrupt deceleration. This created a risk of loss of vehicle control, particularly in traffic. I have small children in this vehicle, and the unpredictable electronic behavior while in motion posed a significant safety concern. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? the dealership confirmed that a previous event was caused by a failed ota software update. The vehicle has since malfunctioned again while driving and has been taken back to the dealership for further inspection. The dealership has acknowledged module instability and opened a tak case with the manufacturer. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle has been inspected by Gmc1 dealership. A case has been opened with gm customer care. No police or insurance reports. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? 9 days prior to the first major malfunction, the check engine light illuminate. On April 1, the check engine light re-appeared and the vehicle attempted to reboot again while driving.

I recently purchased my vehicle and after already transporting my family of 5, including my newborn child for several days, I noticed that my parking sensors were not working and I began receiving a message of my dash that parking assist, rear braking and auto park assist were unavailable. I reached out to gm around 4/4 informing them of the issue and they said they didn't have any recalls or retrofits for my vehicle and advised me to take it to a dealer's service deparment to be reviewed. After having an issue with simpson GMC of buena park of failing to even review my issue for a week, I took it to penske GMC of cerritos on 4/17 and they determined that during manufacturing of the vehicle, someone failed to connect the module that controls my parking sensors. They had to remove the front fascia of my vehicle to connect the module for everything to work correctly. This has forced me to call into question the quality control of gm vehicles and also concerns me that a car manufacturer would deliver a vehicle with such gross negligence where a consumer would not know the safety features they rely on to keep themselves and their family safe do not work. Gm customer service also never followed up on my issue even after calling and emailing them several times, which again calls into question how general motors operates their business.

Brand new vehicle, at about 5k miles the backup camera went out in April 2023. It is not decemeber of 2023 and I have no had any sort of resolution. I have 3 children ages 2, 4 and 5 and it is very concerning for me and my wife to not have a backup camera especially at night.
