Air Bag Light On problems of the 1997 Honda Accord

Airbag light stays on.

While driving on highway air bag light came on without warning. Vehicle checked by dealer, who advised consumer that airbag is inoperative and needs to be replaced. Air bag has not previously deployed.

Airbag light was on at all time, dealer replaced driver's airbag.

While driving air bag light stays on. Dealer notified.

The srs indicator light appears on the dashboard. Light stays on until vehicle is shut off. Dealership is aware of the problem. While the consumer was driving the srs light came on due to a faulty air bag system which needed to be repaired. The consumer wanted the repair cost to be covered by extended warranty, but the dealer denied repair under warranty.

While operating vehicle airbag light illuminated on dashboard, it has been a reoccurring problem. Consumer has contacted dealer. Dealer performed diagnostic testing, but could not remedy problem. Manufacturer was contacted.

Airbag light stays on, and has been on for 1 year and 6 months. In June, it was reset, and remedy has not corrected itself.

Airbag light came on in Jan 2001, was reset by dealer. On 9 July 2001, airbag light came on again. Consumer has appointment to take vehicle back to dealer.

The srs indicator light keeps coming on in vehicle. It's faulty defective piece. Airbags needed to be replaced. Manufacture felt not responsible for repairs. The vehicle has not been in accident. The failure of the air bag is factory defect.

Air bag light is on, and there are airbags in the car. But, they will not deploy because of a mechanism that has been on national back order for a over a month. Consumer felt vehicle was unsafe to drive because airbags did not work.

While driving down the road air bag light came on & did not go off. Took vehicle to dealership & was informed to have the air bags in vehicle replaced.

Airbag light came on while driving. Contacted dealer who said that the airbag computer had gone bad, and that the warranty expired. Therefore, could not fix the air bag computer.

Airbag light comes on intermittently. Dealer has replaced airbag, airbag assembly and wire harness. But, has not remedied problem.

While driving thinks that the air bag is going to deploy. Does not understand why the government has the right to tell consumers what they can or cannot do to vehicles that the have paid for. The air bag light stays on, and that does not seem to be safe.

Consumer srs light came on and air condition was leaking. The consumer contacted the dealer about the air bag light. She made an appointment and was told that it would take 7-10 days for the part to arrive. When the ac leaked the carpet, front and rear, became soaked.

Supplemental restraint system indicator light always goes on when we drive the car, which means the system has a problem and we will not be able to benefit from the srs if there were a crash. The manufacturertold owners to have the srs checked after 10 years old of the car. My car is only 5 years old and has only 42000 miles on it. I guess the manufacturer should be responsible for this failure.

Srs airbag light came on panel. Consumer took vehicle to dealership. She needs a srs control unit, and dealership doesn't have them in stock. Water has gooten inside of radio. Drainage coming from air conditioner leakage. Dealership is aware of problem. The consumer believes possibly the water corroded srs computer module as the result of faulty water drainage which should have been the responsibility of the dealer or manufacturer.

The air bag light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the driver and passenger side air bags were found to be defective.
