Ignition Module problems of the 1998 Honda Accord

Eight problems related to ignition module have been reported for the 1998 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2006

Key will not start the car - ignition problem - car dies going down the road and all of the lights start to flash.

2 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 04/27/1998

While driving the vehicle stalls and shuts down, giving the owner no indication. The dealer said that the electronic control module is incorrect.

3 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 01/08/1998

While driving the vehicle will stall. Driver has to put the vehicle in neutral and then the vehicle will start back up. Driver thinks that there is something wrong with the computer.

4 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 01/01/1998

Pcm failed causing low idle and stalling. Yh.

5 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/15/1997

Engine will cut out at irregular times and approaching stop signs it cuts out. The dealer was contacted, and states that the manufacturer has not been able to duplicate the problem. Also the computer controls the engine.

6 Ignition Module problem

Ignition coil and ecu failed causing vehicle to stall intermittently. Nlm.

7 Ignition Module problem

Faulty computer causes vehicle to stall when the weather is cold.

8 Ignition Module problem

Hesitates/surges - was told is probably computer chip problem with new vtec engine.
