Four problems related to service brakes have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The srs light indicator is lit showing airbag malfunction unbreaks there is a 10 or clip where the brake pad is located that is broken and leaves the break end break mode leaving my brake lights on after engine shut off.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at 40 mph, the contact stated the vehicle in front of their suddenly braked , which caused the contact to depressed on their brake pedal however the vehicle began to spun out of control and hit another vehicle in the next lane on that vehicle front passenger side door by the contact front bumper. The contact vehicle did not sustain any damage, however the vehicle they hit the front passenger side tire came off of that vehicle. There was no one was injured. No medical treatment was needed. No police report was filed. The contact concerned that the caused of their vehicle spinning out of control was due the brakes system. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 186,000.
The contact owns a 1999 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 65 mph, the vehicle stalled but was able to restart after several attempts. The abs warning indicator illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the ignition switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 02v120000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 128,000.
When braking vehicle trembled and stalled while coming to a complete stop. Vehicle restarted after stalling. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who did a diagnostic test and found no problems.
