Two problems related to warning light on have been reported for the 1999 Honda Accord. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
This car's air bag warning light has been on for awhile. This exact make/model/year have been part of a very large recall but this specific car's VIN wasn't listed as part of it. I contacted Honda more than three weeks ago and was assigned a recall case manager. The case manager said they would add this VIN to the airbag recall. I've left at least three follow-up messages with the case manager since that time. The VIN is still not appearing in database. We've been unable to drive car for weeks as a result of safety concerns. There have been widely publicized news reports of people being seriously injured from Honda's faulty airbags. The local shop wants to charge us to inspect it, which seems inappropriate on a safety recall where people are being hurt.
The air bag warning light illuminated while driving. The dealer diagnosed the driver's front air bag had failed and might not deploy if the vehicle was involved in a frontal collision.
