Honda had the main brake line with hydraulic fluid burst causing accident. Pushed on brake pedal went straight to floor and did not stop. Was working fine the day before, pumping brake pedal was uselesss. Car was heading for another vehicle so I drove off the road, speed was about 30mph when I ended in a median strip.
The contact owns a 2000 Honda Accord. The contact was driving approximately 40 mph and approaching a traffic stop signal and when the brake pedal was applied with very little response. After forcefully engaging the brakes to the floor repeatedly, the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road and inspected. The contact was unable to detect the problem and resumed with caution. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis and they informed the contact that the brake lines were faulty and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 157,395.
2000 Honda Accord brake line corroded leading to total brake failure. I was able to coast to a stop by if I was going any faster it would have lead to a crash and possibly injury.
