There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and the vehicle towed to her residence. A local dealer was not contacted. The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. While driving 50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and remained depressed. The contact turned the ignition off and engaged the emergency brakes in order to bring the vehicle to a complete halt. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000.
