39 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2016

Takata recall. I am trying to find out if I have takata air bags in my 2004 Honda Accord and why it has not been recalled. I wrote american Honda motor CO. , automobile customer service in torrance, CA and all they would tell me in a phone call is my 2004 Honda Accord is not included in the recall and to contact the NHTSA for information as to why my 2004 Honda Accord is not in the recall. Does my vehicle have takata air bags? if it does why is my 2004 Honda Accord not included in the takata air bag recall? Honda said I should take my vehicle to an authorized Honda dealer and pay to have it inspected if I want to know what kind of air bags are in my vehicle. I see that 2004 Honda Accords are included in the list of affected vehicles for the takata air bag recall - why have I not been notified of the recall? I bought the car new and have been the sole owner. Is my 2004 Honda Accord safe to drive?.

40 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2016

I was in a parking garage and pulling into a parking spot. I was within 2 feet of the concrete wall and foot over break when my car accelerated with enough force to deploy the airbag and push the frame into the radiator. It happened so fast, I tried to brake but it was over within seconds. I could not have been going more than 2mph or less as I did not even have foot on gas.

41 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2015

Though 2004 Honda Accords are being recalled due to deadly airbag malfunctions, and though Honda was initially adding cars to the recall list by customer request, Honda has refused to add my 2004 Honda Accord to the vehicle recall list and replace its airbags. A second 2004 Honda Accord, that I purchased the same year from the same dealership and later sold, is on the recall list, which adds to my valid concerns that Honda's recall list is not complete or accurate, especially considering Honda has continued to add new VIN numbers to the recall list over the past year. Although I called Honda's recall hotline, they failed to show any concern for my personal safety and refused to replace my airbags. Honda has caused many senseless deaths by refusing to adequately and promptly address the airbags defects in its cars, and it is unfathomable to me that they would continue on their course of deadly apathy.

Failure Date: 07/14/2015

I received a recall notice stating that the air bags needed to be replaced due to potential danger or death. I followed all Honda's directions to the letter and was given an appointment time and place for the work. When I showed up at the dealership, ourisman Honda bethesda MD for the work to be done the dealer said Honda had set up a website, handed out appointments and promised customers that the work would take a half an hour, without their knowledge. That they had not agreed to participate in Honda's scheme and that I had no appointment and that they did not have the parts to do the work. Is this good service? is this what customers are to expect? how can such incompetence rebuild customer trust? is NHTSA aware of this situation?.

Air bags replaced, after picking up car from Honda dealer; car will not start. Appears something is sucking all the juice so starter does not have enough power to start. Car worked great before (besides the kill people at low speeds thing), handed over to Honda, now wont start. Mind you this car was actually recalled in 2014 but only just now received new bags. 50 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2015

My vehicle is part of the takata airbag recall. I heard on the news this morning that it may take 2-5 years to complete this recall. In the meantime would it be safer to disconnect the airbag until it can be replaced? it seems to me that this would be the most logical solution since, even in a minor fender bender the airbag could possibly deploy and cause serious injury.

54 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2015

My daughter was driving my 2004 Honda Accord and was traveling at about 30 mph. She had my 12 yr old in the passenger seat and got too close to the edge of a road that didn't have a shoulder. It pulled the tires off and she overcompensated swerving back onto the road. There was another car coming so she swerved back towards the ditch and hit a power pole head on. The airbag on drivers side deployed but slowly and with very little force at all. My daughter described it as falling out and barely inflating. However, the other daughter's airbag shot out hard and fast and caused her to break a bone in her rt dominant hand. She had to have surgery on that knuckle/finger using three pins. They had to eventually go back and do surgery to remove them since they buried under the skin. I was completely unaware that there was a recall on the airbags since I wasn't the original owner of the car.

I received a safety recall notice in March 2015. I immediately called Honda of santa cruz and made an appointment. I went to the appointment and was then told that the Honda dealership was out of parts and unable to address my airbags at that time. It is now the middle of June and nothing has been taken care of. 67 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2014

I contacted the pat peck Honda dealership in gulfport, ms in oct 2014 to schedule a service appointment for my daughter's car because of the airbag recall. I was told that the part was on backorder and she would be contacted when it came in. My daughter called once to check on it and was told they were still waiting on the part. On Jan 3, 2015, she called the service dept and was passed around to approximately 4-5 different people/departments, none of whom acted like they knew what to do or who to transfer her to. She was told to leave a message, which she did, and she was still not called back. I then called the service dept and asked for the manager, explained who I was and who I was calling for and about and was told they had no record of the initial request in oct 2014 and no record of any parts being ordered. I was assured that the replacement part would be ordered immediately and she would be contacted to set up an appt. It is now Feb 3, 2015 and we have not heard anything. We received the 1st safety recall notice regarding the airbag issue in the mail today and now there is a 2nd recall on the same airbag(s). I am contacting the service dept again tomorrow, but this is totally unacceptable, on both Honda's part and on pat peck Honda's part. The fact that takata is the only manufacturer of this airbag is also highly concerning, both in their denial to take responsibility and in their lack of concern. Honda has always had a great reputation and high resale value, but this will be the last Honda we own. This is not a minor safety issue and I happen to value my 22 year old daughter's life a little more than Honda does. . . . . . . That point has been made very clear. There has not even been an offer made to disconnect the airbag, which is what we will have done, if these are not replaced immediately. Totally unacceptable. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
