1 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2012

As driving on the highway around 50mph, I applied brakes and it almost had no stopping power. Later that day I checked it with the dealer and got brake pads and brake rotors changed. Not even after two months the braking power has faded. Please get this issue fixed as it is causing excessive braking problems which can cause an accident and damages.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2011

My wife recently purchased the 2007 Honda Accord se from an elderly gentleman who has gently used the vehicle (having only driven the vehicle 53,000 kms in the four years he had it from new). All of the maintenance receipts are with the vehicle. Imagine my surprise when I drove the car and discovered the brakes to be not acting as expected. Upon review, I noticed that the rear brakes were worn down significantly and the rotors were badly scored. I was not expecting this on the rear brakes of such a car. Apparently the brakes are a major concern on this vehicle, yet Honda doesn't appear to be willing to take responsibility for the problem unless threatened (and even then it may not happen). My concern for the safety of this vehicle has resulted in me driving it very rarely and I feel that Honda has duped me on this one. My Toyota camry has over 200,000 kms on it and I just recently replaced the rear brakes on it after 180k. Appreciate any information on how I can get my dealer to repair this problem (and what type of replacement brakes / pads / rotors I should be asking for). If they won't repair then I'll have to take it to a reputable brake specialist and have them fix Honda's problem.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2011

While braking the steering wheel began to shake. Took to the dealer who insisted a pebble or something must have gotten between so they wont replace pads for free. This problem has continued since and I keep paying their prices which is really affecting my life.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2011

My 07' Honda Accord lx sedan has 58,000 miles on it and I have had to replace front rotors and brake pads in approximately 15,000 mile intervals. Under braking, the vehicle suffers from shudder which makes it difficult to steer and control. I have approached Honda dealership and they are not able to resolve this issue. Several other people also complain of this and I believe that Honda should issue a recall and fix this recurring and expensive problem if they value consumer loyalty.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2010

Rear disc brake failure on 2007 Honda Accord se. No warning from wear indicators that a problem existed. The car was inspected just 1000 miles before and pads and rotors were good. Rotated tires two weeks before the failure occurred and the rotors and pads were fine. Noticed a grinding sound from the rear right side and investigated. The pads were gone and ate deep into the rotor. Car had 23,949 miles on it and Honda refused to do anything other than replace at my cost.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 02/11/2010

Honda Accord 2007, brakes slips a lot, car vibrates, car doesn't stop as suppose to when properly depressing the brake pedal, had to put the tranny to lowest gear step by step in order to really slow down and stop. I had it check and repaired by ace tire, result of check up was, original equipment front brake pads caved in the front rotors due to low grade brake rotors and brake pads.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2009

I'd like to report an issue with my 07 Honda Accord brakes with 32,642 miles. After a few miles of freeway driving (no stop and go) all 4 rotors are very hot. Any rotor is too hot to touch, and in fact, would blister your finger. They are so hot that they sometimes smell of burnt brake material. These brake rotors are excessively hot without virtually any usage of the brakes. This is not a normal condition for any car. I do not use my brakes excessively, drive almost exclusively freeways, and got over 100,000 mile on my previous Honda's rear brakes. I took my car to the local Honda dealer for service under warranty. When I pulled in to the service area the service person came right out. I asked him to verify that the rotors were extremely hot. He did so. The reason I had asked the service person to verify the hot rotors was so that he could acknowledge the fact that the rotors were indeed hot before the car had a chance to cool down. After 20 minutes or so the service technician had the opportunity to check the brakes. He said that there were no hot spots on the rotors and there was no problem. Of course the rotors were not hot after cooling down for 20 minutes. The service person also told me that the rear pads were close to needing replacement. Needing to replace the rear pads after 33,000 mile of freeway driving is premature pad wear. The only reason for premature pad wear on my brakes after 33,000 miles is dragging brake pads. Because the brakes are dragging all the time is the reason that the rotors are excessively hot and the reason that the pads are prematurely worn. This is not a normal condition for any car. Brake rotors being excessively hot is a dangerous condition. Rotors that are excessively hot all the time will lead to premature brake fade in conditions where the brakes would be used a lot, like driving downhill mountain grades. This is a definite safety issue.

8 Brake Disc Pads problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2008

The front brakes vibrate violently when applying brakes at speed of 60 ~ 75 mph. The vibration started when the car had about 10,000 miles; I went to dealership, they told me it was warping disc caused the problem, I would have to pay for re-surfacing the front discs; at 20,000 miles, the vibration had become a safety concerns, I had to change rotors and pads, but the vibration started again after driving about 2000 miles. I went back the mechanics, they told me the front discs are ok, maybe the vibration caused by overly sensitive abs. I went back to dealership again, they said there are no service bulletins or recalls regarding the abs or front brakes, and I should re-surface or replace the rotors one more time (even the new rotor has about only 7000 miles on it).
