I got a notice on a recall again for the air bags for my Honda Accord 2007 7gqu329. I have another issue with it my catalytic converter got stolen again and the 1st time the insurance covered it and it got stolen last week again and the insurance is telling me that it’s fraud and they will only cover it once. While this is an issue in my area stealing this parts now my car is totaled and undrivable.
Rear brakes. There are many complaints on wear of Honda brakes. Mine (front and rear) were replaced same day, at 40,200 mi. At 72,700, the rear brakes needed replacement with just 3 % life left or only 32,500 miles. This is nearly half life. The front brakes my repair shop notes has at least 30% more life.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed and failed to respond. The vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000. Djr.
Unexpected acceleration with engine stuck at full throttle. . Conditions at the time: snow on road; large snow banks at sides of road. . I had backed out of my driveway in order to turn my car around so as to point front-out. I then started to back down the driveway. The car got stuck against a pile of snow part way into the driveway (we just had a series of large snowstorms, but the night was clear). I placed the transmission in "¿¿drive"¿ and attempted to exit the driveway. A wheel stated to spin (I believe it was the right front drivewheel), so I gunned the engine. The car got free, heading toward the snow bank on the side of the road opposite the driveway. I took my foot off the gas and onto the brake, applying force on the brake. The engine remained in full throttle despite my having moved my foot off the gas and onto the brake and my applying force to the brake. . The car had propelled itself into the snow bank on the opposite side of the road. The engine remained in full throttle. I could feel the pulsation of the abs system on the brake pedal under my foot as I continued to try to brake. I finally turned off the ignition. The engine stopped. I placed the transmission into "park". I then turned the ignition back on and started the engine with my foot still on the brake, and immediately the engine was again in full throttle, although in "park"¿ -- so there was no movement of the vehicle. I turned off the ignition again. I turned the ignition back on. This time the idle was normal. . I was able to back the car back into the driveway.
While at 30 mp. . . Trey to stop at tl, applied brakes even with 3-4 car distance from car in front of me. Car didn’t stop or reduce the speed. Applied brakes again…car exhilarated to higher seed. Didn’t stop…it exhilarated seep and hit on the back side of car in front of my car. I don’t expect to happen like this at all, eve with sound mind and driving carefully on road side. I this this is unacceptable for manufacturer like ‘Honda’ company or from any other company. In deed it a same for me being a Honda customer it did happen to me truly, nick amin.
In very cold weather the car does not have brakes. The dealership told me that this a defect with this car. Honda is aware of the problem but has not done a recall. I am the second owner of the car. The previous owner was in az, therefore would not have had a problem. I am very fortunate that I did not have an accident. The dealership stated that the brake valve had to be replaced in all the 2007 Honda Accord hybrids. I think that this should be investigated. ## VIN failed ##.
On exiting from a beltway on to a ramp and applying the brakes to slow the car, it accelerated the car and as I took my foot off the accelerator, it sped up further. I applied the brakes and the emergency brake and after going very fast over several curbs and through an intersection I was able to stop the car along side of another curb. This damaged the right fender and activated the passenger side airbag. All of the tires were flattened and the frame bent, so the car could not be repaired. The event was quite frightening and fortunately there were no cars in the road or intersection and the car stopped before hitting any structure. I was alone and not injured. I had the car inspected during the past year, since it had accelerated a few times after I removed my foot from the accelerator and applied the brakes.
Purchased new with retirement money hoping for long use. Today dealer informs me it will cost me 200. 00 to repair rear brakes only( 26000 miles. On car)after checking internet I see many other complaints of defective brakes on 2007 Accords. With little mileage. Please help.
This description as contained in Honda service bulletin 07-745 fits: brake pedal is low and feels soft. When you apply the brakes, the brake pedal travels lower and feels softer than normal.
My 2007 Honda Accord has braking problems. I recently had to replace the all of the brakes and rotors due to over heating. The brakes are mushy and applying the brakes results in a jerky, spasmodic, uneven effect that is close to resulting in loss of vehicle control. The symptoms are very similar to those of the 2008 odyssey that resulted in a recall.
When backing out of our downwardly-sloped home driveway, the vacuum assist for the brakes fades or doesn't work at all. Brakes work fine going forward. This is a potential safety issue if someone were walking on the sidewalk behind the backing up car, because once the vacuum assist fails, it is very difficult to press the brake pedal hard enough to stop the car in reverse. The above-described event occurs often.
2007 Honda Accord ex-navigation. I have owned this vehicle since 2010 with 30k. They should be multiple recalls on this vehicle. In 2 occasions on the highway, I was unable to stop this vehicle. I rear ended one vehicle doing 45 mph without the airbags deploying. The airbag light stays on with it flashing. I had a complete brake system overhaul. Second time, the same thing happened. I pressed on the brakes and it takes so long for the vehicle to respond. Dealership told me there was no issue with the airbags or braking system. After both accidents the airbag light flashes and stays on. Also the the seat belts stay in a locked position and won't retract. Dealership says the piston in the seat belts were bad. I waited to have them fixed. Good thing because both seat belts retracted after three weeks. Separate issue with the seals on the outer doors. Every time it rains I end up with 3 inches of water on the driver side rear floor. I had the dealership also check this. They said they fixed the problem. All problems still occur to this day. I had owned Honda Accords all my life of 48 years. I have my doubts of ever buying another Honda vehicle after this awful experience.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 20 mph, she noticed that when she applied the brakes that the vehicle would jerk abnormally. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repairs. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 28,000 and the current mileage was 44,490.
I'm having anti-lock brake problems on a Honda Accord 2007 se. The problem is that in snow the brakes are taking a ridiculous amount of time to stop. I have driven in snow for decades and it feels like it takes twice as long to stop with Honda's antilock brakes compared to conventional brakes. I am referring to city driving in situations where I'm only going 25 mph or less and the brakes stop poorly.
Defective abs switches.
I am concerned that Honda has used substandard brake rotors and faulty airbag equipment on some of their models. I owned a 2007 Honda Accord lx that required replacement of airbag components within two years of purchase(the car was new at purchase in 2007). It also developed faulty braking in the form of vibration and excessive stopping distances within 18 months of purchase--this was under mild driving conditions. I have been told by Honda that it is common for their brake rotors to need turning within two years of service, which, based on my experience with vehicles, would constitutes a marginally sound brake rotor. Substandard braking equipment coupled with questionable airbag components could lead to catastrophic consequences in the event of an incursion or near-incursion.
The contact owns a 2007 Honda Accord. While driving 40 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the dealer. The contact stated that when he depressed the brake pedal, it held for a moment and then began to vibrate. He applied more pressure to the pedal, but it would not hold. The failure mileage was 13,000. Updated 10/16/08. Updated 10/20/08.
The brakes on my new 2007 Honda grab 50% of the time. Especially dangerous after the car is washed. They are too sensitive, and I'm never sure what pressure to use to stop safely. The blind spot on the right rear side of car is unsafe. Fault is in the design of the car and the rear view mirror is not large enough and the passenger's head/head rest blocks the driver's vision.
The consumer stated the rear brakes had to be replaced twice within 15,398 miles from the first replacement. The dealership informed the consumer the vehicle was not being driven enough. Updated 02/14/11.
