1 Engine problem

Failure Date: 06/28/2011

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 40 mph, the vehicle began to decelerate as the check engine and vehicle stability control warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostics. The technicians stated that the vehicle was out of oil and needed an update performed to the computer. The contact stated that an oil change was performed three thousand miles prior to the failure. The technicians were unable to diagnose a failure with the oil and updated the computer. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000.

2 Engine problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2010

My 2009 Honda Accord ex with only 32k miles on it started to consume oil very quickly. While the % oil life remaining indicator said I have 30% life remaining, the dipstick did not register any oil on it. I'm glad that I checked, because I shudder at the possibility of a car crash due to the engine dying on the highway. When I took the car to the dealership, they handed my a printed out sheet that stated that a loss of 1 qt per 1000miles is considered normal. How is that possible??? this is a serious defect that Honda does not want to admit to.

3 Engine problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2010

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the engine was burning excessive amounts of engine oil and fouled the spark plugs. In addition, the engine oil was entering into the cylinder causing the spark plugs to be changed more frequently than normal. The vehicle was repaired by the dealer several times. The contact stated that the engine needed replacing. The dealer and manufacturer would not replace the engine. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance. The failure mileage was 59,000.

4 Engine problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2010

Car engine raced while sitting in neutral. Unintended acceleration.

5 Engine problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2009

I own a 2009 Honda Accord ex-l. I am having problems with the engine not accelerating when needed to in emergency. I have come close to accidents twice so far on the highway since the car would not give me pick up when I needed to steer clear of trucks and cars. I have complained to two dealers, one in new jersey and the other in mass. Both dealers told me that the car is fine when it isn't. At full throttle going from 1000rpm upto 6000rpm there is no pick up what so ever. It is the same as going normal speed and pick up. This is a family car and I drive with my two kids in there less then 5 yrs of age. I've had this issue since I purchased the car and it was my mistake that I did not test drive it prior to purchase. I've owned several Honda Accords since 96 and none of them have had this serious dangerous problem. Please look into this issue. I am stuck with an expensive lemon.
