1 Water Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

In early 2019, after my Honda dealer replaced my vehicle's water pump, I began experiencing problems with the push button start feature on my 2013 Honda Accord. Sometimes, my car starts right away. But more often, it takes several attempts before my car will start using the push button start feature. When repeated attempts are necessary to start my car, I hear a 'clicking' type noise when I press the start button, but my car does not turn over. After several attempts pushing the 'start' button, my car eventually starts (sometimes after a few seconds and a few attempts, sometimes after many attempts and two or three minutes). The problem occurs randomly, when the car is cold and warm. I never experienced this problem until Honda replaced the water pump on my car earlier this year. Based on other web posts, this sounds like a common problem with the push button start feature in 2013 Honda Accords. Once my car starts, it runs well. At this present time, I have no other mechanical problems other than the push button start feature. However, my car's failure to start is a safety issue in itself if a car fails to start in a situation where a quick get away is necessary (for example, flood, wild fire, or other natural or other disaster that may require that my car start without delay).
