The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving in a temperature of 90 degrees fahrenheit, there was an abnormally loud static sound emerging from the speakers. Upon starting the vehicle, the static sound was heard and failed to stop. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the infotainment system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer informed her that the system was overheated due to the outside temperature. The manufacturer was contacted, opened a case, and referred to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
