Airbag warning sign comes and disappears randomly. Attached is the warning sign. There are other Accords that showed recall for airbags. I think my car is also in the category. The issue has been happening for over a month. Light appears both while stopped and in motion, randomly and stays for so long the car is on and the disappears when restarted the car.
Airbag system not consistently activated with small adults (5'4", 110 lb. And 5'8", 115 lb. ) passengers. Have followed all troubleshooting steps, I. E. Nothing obstructing seat, passenger sitting fully upright, etc. Dealership and american Honda state it is functioning as engineered even though owner's manual states plainly that it should function at > 65 lbs and adults should not ride in the seat if this occurs. Occurs inconsistently while in motion and parked.
Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that when the vehicle is turned on the passenger air bag will not shut off. The left side of the dash board vibrates when the vehicle accelorates. When the vehcile is being stopped the vibrating stops. Otherwise the vibrating will continue. The vehicle was not towed and the vehicle was taken to the contacts home. The vehicle was repaired two times for the vibrating. However, the vehicle was taken to windwarth Honda (808) 247-8544 45-671 kamehameha hwy, kaneohe, hi 96744 they did not diagnose or repair the air bag. The manufacturer was not informed and the failure mileage was 1090. This is not a recall related failure. Jw.
May 13th, 2018 driving on the highway doing 50-55 going eastbound on the bay bridge in san francisco -�out of no where� the electric parking brake came on! and I didn't push no buttons! not quite sure of the malfunctioning, but it cost an accident� cause someone hit me from behind! also my airbags didn't deploy, but when Honda link assistant called and we was told- �they sense an accident cause of deployed airbags. � I'm afraid to drive a car that nearly killed us.
Takata recall cannot get internet sites to accept my VIN, license entries to learn if car is due for recall work on air bag.
My supplemental restraint system problem keeps appearing on my dash at random times, sometimes will go away then sometimes will stay for over a year. I have heard this is ongoing and Honda has not issued a recall.
