Warnings problems of the 2018 Honda Accord - part 1

I was driving on a four-lane highway using adaptive cruise control, gaining on a vehicle ahead. When the cruise control picked up the vehicle, I accelerated slightly, used left turn signal and began changing lanes, the warning for collision mitigation came on and the cruise control disengaged. Continued driving home and the warning continued, and cruise control would not function. Next time used the car the warning light was off, and system functioned properly.

Unknown I received the notice that there was an active recall on my 2018 Honda about the 1. 5 fuel pump. I have scheduled several appointments to fix this, only for Honda to cancel all appointments related to the recall, stating they didn't have the part. I was headed to work, and every light on the dashboard that could come up, came up. There were several warning lights from brakes, transmission, collision, engine, etc. I took the car to the dealership, and they discovered that the fuel injector was the culprit. I am outraged because they're denying there's a connection, and I believe otherwise.

I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord that has had no major problems until the last 6 months. I purchased the car from gerald jones Honda and have had all repairs and maintenance done there with the exception of tire related concerns and occasional oul changes. All the issues I've experienced have been engine related and in the same area of the engine. Consistent leaks, repeated warning lights, and loss of speed. I have replaced fuel injectors, a head gasket, and a turbo in the last 6 months. Despite those repairs, I'm still experiencing leaks and flashing warning lights. Honda currently has my car due to warnings again. They have indicated it is a performance issue but can't locate the problem. Even suggested I continue to drive the car as they have been unable to duplicate what caused it. I told them to keep it because that makes no sense for me to drive it as it seems unsafe to do so and I could potentially make matters worse. I've spoken to several 2018 Accord owners who have experienced the same issues. This is very concerning to me and crippling my finances. Honda stands out for their reliability, but regrettably the 2018 1. 5l turbo doesn't stand up to Honda's reputation.

My vehicle is stalling out. The engine failed. I was traveling and had to pull off the interstate and stop and restart vehicle. It was very dangerous as traffic was going at a high rate of speed. Yes the vehicle has been confirmed by a dealer. Yes all the warning lights are on in the vehicle.

My husband recently get this car with a loan. We been with the car for almost 3 months. Recently I was driving my daugthers to school on the highway. My car start acting up. My car start shaking like it was gonna turn off on 45 miles. After that happend I find out the it was a recall on my Honda Accord 2018 fuel pump. I went to a Honda dealer and until this time no one can help me.

When driving at highway speeds the auto has started to brake and the warning brake alert flashes on the dashboard when there are no obstructions. On some occasions the brake warning light comes on even when there are no cars or traffic in front of the auto. Recently the cruise control turned off for no apparent reason.

Emergency braking happened several times with no obstacle in the way. Perfect driving conditions in daylight. Twice it slowed down my vehicle on the highway. A few other times the braking light came on but didn’t seem to actually put on the brake.

2018 Accord consistently has the warning pop up for the the crash mitigation system and tells me to visit the dealer. Cruise control just stop working while driving. When I turn the car off and back on it resets, and then 10-20 miles goes by and the error pops up again. Incredibly unreliable and unsafe when I’m on the freeway going 70. This has been a constant problem.

Forward collision warning feature on 02/16/24 I was traveling east on I-630 at about 60 mph. While driving at that speed I saw a foreign object in my lane but I could not swerve in neither right or left lane as there were vehicles traveling in both lanes when my car hit the foreign object the object became lodged under the car dragging it at least 20 to 30 feet the car lost power myself and passenger had to push car out of road to shoulder to keep from getting killed as it had lost power and would not start. The forward collision warning feature did not alert me of the object nor of the vehicle’s traveling ahead of me nor vehicles traveling in left and right lanes along side of me that I attempted to avoid hitting. I had previously filed a complaint about the warning lights and malfunctioning features on the car to dealership on 2019 2020 and 2021 I was told it could be a series of reasons why the warning lights are all on and the car features shut down even the car losing its power I was never able to get my car on the recall list for this I filed a complaint with Honda manufacturer 2022 and was told that someone would be in touch but no one ever called I took the car back to dealership tech stated that the cracked windshield maybe the cause of the warning lights coming on so I got windshield , spark plugs, battery twice, replaced all for tires twice kept scheduled services up to par warning lights still on in-car still losing power in the middle of traffic on 01/20/24 I tried getting appt for fuel pump recall dealerships states they donot have the inventory to replace fuel pump I was told when Honda manufacturer contact dealerships giving the go ahead to repair I will l be contacted fast forward to 02/16/24 this is the result of none of features functioning especially the forward collision warning feature my car now is at a loss of use it does not start the oil panel was damaged the radiator was crushed the sensor dislodged and body was damage to vehicle.

While I am driving down the highway, my brakes randomly engage and I get an error message that says collision, mitigation breaking system error please see dealer.

Every warning light is turned on my vehicle. Dealer said it’s the fuel injectors however riverside is out of stock. Due to fuel injectors my line assist, emergency collision and cruise control does not work. Parts are not available on any auto zone or any other car part dealers. I’m worried my car might start a fire or some type of mechanical failure during my driving. Online shows multiple people having the same issue and recommends not buying a Honda. Please help, thank you.

While driving at 35-40 mph the aeb braking system activated without cause. There was no vehicle, person or object in front of the car so the sensor should not have activated. The car braked without warning very abruptly. This has happened several times and I have reported to this site at least two other occasions in similar nature.

I was traveling on interstate 65 in alabama running about 70 mph when suddenly the brakes slammed on automatically. The car behind me had to swerve over in the next lane to keep from hitting me from behind. This is the 3rd time this has happened but this last time almost caused a wreck. I am scared to drive this car now. The dealer kept the car for 2 days but could not reproduce this . The dash board started flashing brake. All 3 times there was no car in front or beside me.

I was driving on a road with no other cars around at about 40 miles an hour and the collision mitigation system flashed the brake signal a few times and tried to stop very suddenly. I pushed on the gas to fight it and it released the brake.

My car 40,000 miles and all waring lights are coming on the dash such check engine,lane acc,steering,brake ,parking , took to Honda dealer they say nothing was wrong now there saying it the fuel inject and it will be 1,250 to fix I been look it up and see there's a lot of other ppl with the same problem but no recall for the 2018 Honda Accord sport.

The car out of no where breaks while driving and thinks it’s been involved in a collision.

All of my safety features in my car when it comes to driving down the road have completely failed. Adaptive cruise control lane assist brake system errors. The car just stops in the middle of the road. And it will pull the car the car to the left or right thinking that there’s something in the road and there’s not it’s very dangerous.

With no object in front of the vehicle, the early warning braking system will activate and apply brakes. This is a very serious failure in the system. I have been able to avoid accidents only due to no cars being behind me when these brakes are applied. This is very dangerous at all speeds, but more so higher speeds.

I have had this vehicle since June 2018 and I have not had any issues until the last month or so. The first incident happened while driving to work and it was raining, when I turned into the parking lot a number of warnings started going off : electric parking brake system problem, brake system problem, brake hold system problem, electric power steering system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem. Parked my car, went in my office and called the dealership. They told me it was most likely because of the rain and that the issue should resolve on it's own. By lunch time it had stopped raining, went to get lunch and the warnings were gone, but now when accelerating I would lose power. So I go the the dealership, they check to see what the issue is and they can't find anything. Told me to come back if it does it again. Few weeks later, driving down the interstate going 75 and I start losing speed for no reason and car almost crashes into me due to the dramatic decrease in speed and once again all the warnings are back on - but it's not raining this time! Honda can't find any issues and I'm so frustrated because it's a danger to me!.

My vehicle has activated the collision avoidance/emergency braking on numerous occasions for no reason. I have taken it to my local Honda dealer for this problem, and since they cannot recreate it, they claim there is no problem. It generally happens when there are lines in the road, or a change in the color or the road surface. It happened again last week while I was traveling on us 301 near maxville FL. There is road resurfacing going on, therefore one lane is a lighter asphalt, and the other lane is dark. I was going about 60 mph, changed lanes, and the car slammed on the brakes and displayed the brake warning on the instrument panel. Fortunately, no one was behind me. This is the typical behavior of the car when it happens.

The car’s collision mitigation system stops working for no reason, causing me to completely lose my cruise control until I can turn off the car and restart it. This has happened in stop-and-go traffic on the interstate while the car is under the control of the adaptive cruise control as well as while driving down the road with absolutely no other cars around me. Suddenly the system cuts off and the collision mitigation warning message comes on. The Honda dealership has no response to this. I have had the car since September 2021, and this occurs approximately 3 times per month.

I got a collision mitigation braking system warning while driving at a high speed > 60 mph on the interstate with adaptive cruise control turned on. The system suddenly cuts off speed and lost cruise control. I have to stop on road side, turn off the car and restart it for the warning go away.

When driving on the freeway (>50mph) with no obstacles visible in front of me, the forward collision system will occasionally cause the hud to rapidly flash and warn me to “brake”. It will display this message for a couple of seconds before disappearing. I have noticed that this has a higher chance of occurring when I am driving towards the sun.

Routine and ongoing false and nuisance braking warnings from collision mitigation system. Triggering of the warning is presumably a precursor to erroneous activation of automatic braking.

Periodically, at various speeds while driving, the “brake” light will flash and sound on the dashboard, and there’s nothing in front of me. It causes the vehicle to brake and slow down drastically. It happens more often while driving at freeway speeds on the freeway. The vehicle will also light up with “lane departure” and will self correct when there is no need. I was informed by the dealer service department that “it probably was a glare from the sun or there was a reflection that caught the sensor to cause it to brake and do that. ” it would happen at different times if the day.

Ghost braking for no reason I could be going 70 mph and it'll slam on the breaks with nobody in front of me or anything.

Driving on the interstate about two years ago when for no apparent reason the car suddenly braked hard. There was little traffic at the time. I assumed it was the automatic braking feature due to the display on the instrument panel. The brakes let off as suddenly as they had started. Luckily no other cars were nearby so there was little chance of being rear ended. There were no injuries or accidents as a result of this braking incident. Scared me half to death though! this has only happened the one time. The car is available for inspection as needed. I have never mentioned this to Honda as it only occurred once. There was no warning except for the simultaneous orange emergency collision warning on the instrument panel.

Vehicle safety collision system has tried to stop my vehicle on at least 3 occasions when nothing was in front of it. Happened on highway. Vehicle sensed a ghost and slammed on the brakes. The cmbs system gives errors often and tries to shut systems down and brake the car while traveling. Happens often and has happened since the car was new. Dealer has no idea about issues.

Breaks came on for no apparent reason and put vehicle into a side ways skid. Lane landed up in meridian .

The system regularly malfunctions and it has almost caused 2 accidents. You expect the car to stop but it fails. The brakes also have issues and now my car starts without even pressing my foot on the brake first. I have over 10 warning lights due to safety system issues.

Collision braking mitigation system experienced two errors (descriptions unknown). Received error message warning on display panel, but no description of errors. Cmbs, lkas, speed limit sign sensing, etc. All failed. Turning vehicle off and on several times did not restore the system. Vehicle drove fine, but all safety features were disabled.

Secondary restraint system warning light keeps coming on.

Collision mitigation braking system problem appeared with no reasoning.

All the systems in the picture failed. . I noticed my reading lamps don't work and middle brake light stays on dim when these warning lightscome on. . . . And the car loses power on the road it will slow down like its braking and won't accelerate. If there is ever a tractor trailer behind me I'm afraid it will hit me. . . When shutting down the car and restart within 30-50miles warnings lights come back on. .

To the highway safety I would like to inform that I purchased a 2018 Honda Accord and it has been nothing but a nightmare and safety issue for me and my family. What happens is the car at random times will turn on the cmbs system basically when that happens it is hard to brake or even control the car all lights on the dashboard panel light up Honda says it’s just bc we the people don’t understand the function and how it works but that is not the case on social media places like websites and ticktock you can see videos of the issues and no one cares how is it okay for Honda to sell a car that brakes randomly or tells you to brake when no cars in front or even when there is but it’s a decent speed where you have space please I have read and read news and every time I see a Honda I think bet it was a cmbs issue please please have them fix it it’s dangerous . This happens at random times sometimes no cars even on the road when I take it to Honda each time basically all they do is reset it by turning battery of what !!!! that’s dangerous please help.
