This Honda Accord sport se has had electrical problems from the day I received the vehicle. Every time I went for an oil change at bommarito Honda I mentioned it to them and they said “yeah the new Hondas do tend to hand a lot of those electrical problems” so with this the problems continued to get worse. Sometimes the buttons do not work, sometimes they do, sometimes the lights don’t work and sometimes they do and sometimes the safety features and break system automated itself. I have slammed my head on the steering wheel on multiple occasions. I believe this needs to be looked into because the malfunction of the car falsely reports danger and caused an accident. Yes every time it malfunctions it flashes briefly and so quickly on the screen .
The body control module has gone out on my 2021 Honda Accord. Yesterday, when it went out, it affected all adas features, in addition to key functionality of the car.
There are two locations in the town I live where I am driving under a bridge, and there is a dark shadow on the road from the bridge. My car’s accident mitigation braking system turns on at these locations and suddenly brakes the vehicle. This is not safe as people are traveling speed limit around me and I can cause an accident this way. About a month or two ago, the car behind me almost hit me at one of these locations when my vehicle’s automatic braking system turned on. It was made to prevent accident and brake if there is a vehicle, but because it is braking due to a dark shadow coming, it is not working properly and needs to be looked into. I called Honda and they want me to pay hundreds of dollars at my local Honda dealership for a diagnosis, I do not feel like I should be responsible for that fee as this is a safety feature that is not working as it should and instead making it less safe for me and drivers around me.
While driving the automatic brake system randomly starts flashing brake across the instrument panel and begins to brake the car. This does this while there are no other vehicles or any type of obstacles near the vehicle. It also, does it at random caution lights for the fire department on a 4 lane divided highway. There is no way to stop it from doing so. This happens frequently and leaves the driver with no control over the braking system.
I was driving northbound in on i15 in salt lake city when a home depot bucket blew into my lane. I slowed down to change lanes when the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs) deployed without warning, bringing my car to an almost stop causing a semi tractor trailer to hit me from behind.
What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the vehicle’s collision avoidance automatic braking system is malfunctioning. It engages unexpectedly while the vehicle is moving with normal traffic flow. The system is still installed and fully available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? the automatic braking system activates suddenly and without cause while I am driving at typical speeds (approximately 40–60 mph) with the flow of traffic. This unexpected braking creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions, both endangering me and putting other drivers at risk of crashing into my vehicle from behind. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have reported the issue to the dealer, but they have been unable to replicate the problem during their inspections. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? no, the vehicle and its braking system have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, insurance representatives, or any other third parties. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? no warning lights, messages, or other indicators were present before the issue occurred. I purchased the vehicle last month, and the problem with the collision avoidance braking system has been present consistently since then.
My car slammed on its own brakes hard out of nowhere with nothing in its forward. The first time it happened was about 9 months ago while I was driving on the highway, it was a quick moment of breaking without any reason, but the car didn't stop. Today it happened again, the speed was about 30 m/h, the car slammed hard on the brakes to an almost complete stop. I was lucky, nobody was behind.
While I was driving on the freeway, the car brakes hard on its own when there were no cars in front of me. This happened twice. Thankfully there were no cars behind me either, otherwise I might have gotten into an accident.
Automatic breaking engaged with foot already pressing down brake pedal as traffic ahead was slowing. The automatic braking was overkill that the traffic that was slowing down ahead of me was now pulling away.
Lane keep assist continues to jerk the wheel from my hands with false lane departure warnings. Especially in direct sunlight. This has been reported to you 100's of times and nothing has been done for 4 years. How many more people have to be killed and injured in Hondas before you act?.
I just got off the freeway and coasted down the off-ramp, did not engage the brake nor the acceleration pedals. Suddenly the emergency brake system slammed on the brakes, it slowed me down from about 50 mph to around 20mph. There were no vehicles in front of me for at least 100 yards. It almost caused an accident by the people who almost slammed into the back of me.
Driving on highway at approximately 65 miles per hour using the adaptive cruise control. Car in front of us took a right hand exit. My 2021 Honda Accord activated the braking system and applied the brakes, so I stepped on the accelerator thinking it would override the braking system. It had no effect. There were cars behind me at the time and luckily nobody was injured. I looked this up on the internet and found that it is a reported issue. That is why I am contacting you. Very concerned about the safety of my family.
My Honda Accord’s automatic braking system suddenly engaged this morning for no reason. The driver of the car following me had to slam on his breaks to avoid rear-ending me. If the other driver had not stopped, we would both have been injured. Honda’s emergency braking system is dangerous. There should be a way to disable it permanently.
I was driving 40 mph and slowed down gradually pressing my brake due to a car making a right turn. As I'm slowing down to probably 15mph, the brakes wording shows on the odometer display. I had plenty of room between the turning right car but suddenly the car automatically stops while I'm in the lane. I could of got hit if there was a car behind me. This is the 1st time it has happen. I've seen the brake wording show up a few times while driving but this is the 1st time the car stopped on it's own. Currently researching on how to turn off the brake assist for the car. (this is a safety issue for other Accord owners)(purchased car Dec 2023).
I was driving 35mph and there was nothing in front of me when my car stopped. It would not move forward or accelerate despite pushing on the gas pedal. There was no forward motion or propelled motion. It took several seconds for my car to go again. The car was towed and serviced at the dealership. They said the front sensors had misfired. If a car would have been behind me or if I had been on the highway, this would have been a serious accident. The engine light never came on. A series of 5 warning lights related to the assisted driving came on but went away.
While driving on an open road with no cars around, the emergency braking suddenly engaged causing the car to come to an almost complete stop by itself.
At speed limit cruising down i66. I was all alone. No birds in area at all. Open road. I was in middle lanes. Car attempted to come to a complete stop by itself. “phantom braking”? all my friends with Honda’s and Acura’s mentioned similar issues. If anyone was behind me, I could have caused a pile up or even worse. It’s happened a few times. Took to capitol heights Honda and landmark Honda. They ran diagnostics. Explained to me there were no error codes. I explained to them, if system has a fault, it thinks it’s operating properly. So, no errors would appear! I have experience and education in computer programming (college), mechanical and electronic (us army) and over 30 electromechanical troubleshooting, repair and maintenance and other it experience. Sme after they haven’t been able to do anything about it, I turn off all safely systems. I drive a lot. So, I’m also a very good driver. Have almost 65k miles on my vehicle. Date of incident below was when I forgot to turn off sensor. But it happened a few times before and I brought to Honda after first two times. I even had to rent a car at my expense.
My family and I were driving home to la from nm. I had been using the cruise and steer assist earlier in the drive but had it off after going through a metro area interstate. There was no vehicles within the cars front camera system when while driving 75 mph( that was the sped limit in TX), the cars braking system engaged with a hard break, no “brake” light flash of rapid break pumps as it would do if something was within the camera range. I was able to get in slow lane and within 30 secs it did it again. I was able to drive another hour with no issue but stayed under 65mph. We are 7 hours away from home and will be getting it to the dealership. This could have caused a major wreck.
A vehicle in front of me made a quick slow down. The automatic braking engaged, the driver behind me did not react in time and struck the back of my car. Resulting in totaling of the vehicle. The automatic braking would not stop engaging, if it would have dis-engaged I could of pulled forward a few feet and the driver behind me would of missed me.
I was traveling on interstate 10 going around 50mph with a safe distance from the traffic in front of me. The car in front of me did break but then sped off immediately. My car's automatic emergency breaking system engaged very aggressively and unnecessarily (a front end impact was not imminent if my car had not braked). I tried to accelerate but I had no control over it. The sudden breaking caused my car to slow so rapidly that the freightliner behind me did not have time to react, causing him to rear end my car. The car was totaled as a result. I have front and rear dash camera footage showing all of this. ***I marked a document as the police report to proceed but I do not have a copy of the police report. This is not provided unless ordered***.
Honda Accord breaks unexpectedly for no reason. It’s an automatic break or slow down without us pressing the break. The car has an automatic emergency break system and it seems to break when nothing is I front of us. Happens many times and dealer can’t figure out what is wrong. They tell us car is running well.
I was driving home in the rain and felt the car automatically braking when there was no car or object in front of me. The car was also slow to accelerate because the brakes were automatically applied. 5 miles later numerous warnings appeared on the dash and the following error messages came through my Hondalink app: electric parking brake problem, cmbs problem, adaptive cruise control problem, and rdm problem. Several times during this drive home the brakes automatically applied without any intervention from me or roadway object. I almost got rear-ended once when a car behind me had to slam on its brake when my car automatically braked without me doing anything. This is a very dangerous condition that should be looked further into as multiple drivers have reported brakes being applied without driver intervention or an apparent road hazard. How many complaints will it take before a recall is issued so other Honda drivers do not need to be put at risk?.
I was driving on the freeway going 65mph when the automatic safety brake system slowed my car down abruptly for no reason at all. Luckily there wasn’t any other vehicles anywhere near me or it would have caused an accident. This wasn’t the only time the safety system activated without reason either. It also happened two other times in similar situations.
In the last 10 days, we there's been 4 incidents where the vehicle suddenly brakes when travelling on high speeds on the freeway out of nowhere. We were almost involved in a serious car accident yesterday where a vehicle behind us narrowly got out of the way. Took vehicle to Honda dealership service and they claim they cant find any issues with braking system or sensors and they are not aware of any braking issues with this model. When I told them that I found online that theres an investigation opened last year about this issue in other Accords, they had no idea what I was talking about and asked them to google it and they refuse. They refuse to fix the issue and suggest to just keep driving the vehicle since theres nothing for them to fix.
Automatic emergency breaking system has benn activated in about 6 different ocassions while driving in the highway for no reason. No vehicles or obstacles in front of the car but car suddenly applied brakes stopping the car very suddenly while driving 70-75 miles per hour.
I was driving on the highway going about 70mph and the automatic brake/ collision prevention went off and tried to stop my car for seemingly no reason. There were no cars or objects in front of me. The orange break alert flashed in the dash and car slowed abruptly. Thankfully no one was behind me. The only thing I can think of was the shadows on the road. This is the third time an event like this has happened to me. I made the dealership aware this happened after the second time and I was told I just wasn't use to the safety features. I have owned this car for a year now and am beyond use to the safety features, this is flat out unsafe and seriously concerns me. I do really like this car otherwise but I drive a lot for work and if it happens again, I am going to seriously consider selling it. Honda needs to fix this.
Vehicle flashed "brake" on the dashboard and automatically engaged brakes despite nothing being ahead in the road. This occurred on a clear, sunny day around late morning on the interstate. Similar issues have occurred previously where the car flashed the "brake" warning light despite nothing being immediately ahead in the road. With this other incident the brakes were not engaged. This time the brakes engaged, then released, and the car continued. Later on that same trip, the "brake" warning would again flash despite no objects being immediately ahead in the road. The vehicle arbitrarily braking without warning or reason is extremely dangerous as it may cause vehicles behind including much larger trucks to slam into the car. The Honda dealer and Honda customer service were both contacted when the car on a previous occasion flashed "brake" despite no obstructions but neither has returned my messages.
My automatic emergency breaking kicked in today when there were no cars in front of me. My car began beeping loudly and flashing the word “brake” and the car abruptly stopped in the middle of a very busy road. My daughter and I could’ve been very hurt but were lucky there was enough room behind us that we didn’t get rear ended. Nobody has checked this out yet because it just happened, but I am willing and open to having it looked at. I had a brief warning while the car flashed “brake” and beeped, but there were no cars in front of us, and nothing I could do to make the car not slam on the brakes by itself.
Honda Accord multi point serviced July 2nd at hendricks Honda easley SC. Immediately after I was driving on haywood rd. Greenville SC when my vehicle slammed on brakes for no reason. There was no car, animal, pedestrian or debris in road to cause to happen. As a result I experienced whip lash and was seen by a doctor and therapist July 5th. This has caused me to be afraid to drive my own car plus miss work plus enjoy my July 4th. I have reported this to Honda motor company and I also returned to hendricks Honda to have a diagnostic test performed but all they did was put 20 miles on my vehicle and said I would have to bring it in and leave it for 3 - 4 hours. Why? if you truly checked it out today I don't feel I need to return for them to just tell me anything. I really feel like they wasted time doing nothing today. There diagnostic was just driving my vehicle and adding unnecessary miles.
As I was driving on the highway out of nowhere the car jerked away from me. I was unable to maintain control again as it kept gearing itself to the left. The emergency brake didn’t come on at all and the car slide on the freeway and ended up flipping completely over the bridge to the other side injuring all passengers.
While driving on a road ,it automatically applied the brakes as if any vehicle in front of me or any obstacles came in front of my vehicle ,but it was nothing I was very lucky that there was no vehicle behind me otherwise I would have involved in an accident.
The car slowed down and break in the middle of intersection no others cars or people in the way.
21 Accord breaking itself there is no reason and there is no car around. Blind spot working itself there is no car around car. Almost had 4 accidents. Not driving anymore waitin attorneys for lemon law.
The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord hybrid. The contact stated that while driving 50-55 mph, the collision mitigation braking system engaged inadvertently while there was no vehicles around the vehicle, and the vehicle decelerated to 20-25 mph abruptly.
