Our car, only 3 years old (2022) had a check engine light come on about a week ago. We went and had the code read, said cylinder 3 was misfiring. We replaced all the spark plugs and coils. All the lights went off and the car drove fine for another week. Then all of a sudden after driving 60+ miles, we were accelerating up a hill in very heavy traffic, and the car wouldn't accelerate. It wouldn't go more than 20-25 in a 45 as we were pulling out and we were almost hit because we couldn't go. The engine got a tad above the middle of the oil heat gauge. We had it towed. The dealership stated that it had a head gasket issue, with other issues, and that the engine block might be cracked. Currently are trying to charge us almost 7k to fix it.
My Honda is stalling and it started hesitating on 2/18/26 on the way to work. When getting in my car it started stalling and hesitating again, when getting on the road and driving all the lights came on and acted like it didn’t have fuel to go when the car has fuel.
Car flashed engine temperature near limit, avoid heavy acceleration and high speed, see dealership warning on dash. Sounds like water moving thru the dash board when driving or turning or right when starting car. Took car in to dealership right away and they confirmed it is a head gasket issue and that they have at least 20 other cars there due to the same issue. My car has now been in the dealership for over a month and a half now and there is not a clear when it will be repaired due to how many other cars they have there with the same issue. I currently have a rental due to having the extended warranty. I want them to buy the car back so I can get another one with out issues. I have two teenagers that are also learning how to drive. All of the maintaince has been done at the Honda dealership.
Misfire in cylinder 1 causing reduction of power while driving.
The engine cylinder head developed a crack causing coolant leak, causing the coolant system to lose fluid. The leak originated from a hairline crack in the cylinder head, which has been confirmed by an independent, certified mechanic. The vehicle remained drivable initially, but a loss of coolant could lead to engine overheating, and catch on fire or smoke creating a potential safety hazard for the driver and others on the road. The vehicle was inspected at an authorized dealership at the direction of the manufacturer, which performed a teardown to diagnose the issue. After this inspection, additional engine components (timing chain and head gasket) were identified as damaged, though these failures were not present prior to the teardown. Other users facing similar leak issues were treated the same by dealership blaming other component issue and disregarding the visible crack. This defect appears to affect multiple vehicles of the same engine, as reported by other owners nationwide. Warning signs included coolant loss, which could escalate into a larger safety risk if not addressed. I have attached few user complains but if needed I can provide lot more user complaints around the nation as it is never ending.
Loss of power engine malfunction on 2022 Honda Accord sport 1. 5 t experiencing repeated misfire codes, fuel injector failure, and suspected head gasket coolant intrusion. Vehicle has never overheated and maintenance has been performed as required. A second Honda service center advised, they have repaired multiple Accord sport 1. 5 vehicles with the same failure pattern. Honda corporate opened case #16059306 but multiple voicemails to assigned case contact have gone unanswered. Concerned about safety due to potential engine failure or loss of power while driving.
Car started overheating randomly while driving and pulled over to see why. Opened the hood to white smoke everywhere and an active leak of coolant by the exhaust manifold. Took it to a mechanic and was told the cylinder head itself has porosity and/or a hairline crack. Pressure tested as well and can visibly see the leak coming from the cylinder head itself.
Cracked cylinder head coolant leak from bad head gasket known issues through multiple owners.
I noticed random misfires months ago. I've replace my spark plug three times in 6 months. My coils are good, etc. It started getting worse about a month ago. It goes into limp mode and suddenly slows to 20 mph. Some days it won't start. The dash lights flash and the cars computer goes crazy it won't go over 20 mph. This is a widespread issue causing ppl to spend thousands and no fix in sight. Usually it hits between 15-90k miles. Twice I was on the interstate and it just slowed to 20 mph. I have had it at the dealer twice. They are clueless and can't do much without Honda stepping up. Honda needs to address this. My car was built in 2021 and somehow missed a major recall. It's putting stress on my catalytic converter and other parts that cost thousands to fix. I'm taking it in on Monday for the third time. If they can pinpoint it this time I'm afraid it might cost me thousands. It's a Honda and it shouldn't be having issues from 15k to 90k.
The fuel system on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctioned and caused a sudden loss of power while my teenage son was driving. On 12/03/2025 at approximately 4:50 pm, the vehicle went into reduced-power (limp) mode while traveling in heavy highway traffic on a busy highway in a metro-area of >450,000 people. There was no shoulder available in which he could navigate onto. He was unable to accelerate and had to coast approximately one mile at low speed while many, many cars were driving around him during rush hour traffic , which created a dangerous situation with vehicles traveling at normal highway speeds. A Honda dealership has previously inspected and confirmed the problem. On 07/28/2025, the service center documented lean fuel condition, misfire codes (p0301, p0304), failed fuel-rail pressure, and injector-related faults. They recommended replacement of fuel-system components. The printed report and repair estimate are available for inspection upon request. Prior to the safety incident, the vehicle intermittently displayed symptoms such as hesitation during acceleration and irregular engine operation, but no permanent warning light stayed on. The failure has progressed over time and the same loss-of-power condition can recur at any time. This poses a risk because loss of propulsion in moving traffic can lead to a collision. The component issue has been confirmed by the Honda dealer, and documentation is attached. I am filing this report because the failure creates a safety hazard, has been reproduced by a local dealership, and has not been resolved. The repair show suggested I return to Honda for repair. Furthermore, during my research of this problem, I discovered tens of thousands of complaints from others experiencing this exact issue, including new low mileage vehicles. These complaints are available on all social media platforms and search engines, with each complaint indicating problems with the fuel injectors on engines using direct fuel injection.
My car had a head gasket failure. I lost power and control of the vehicle. Mistlin Honda in modesto confirmed it was a head gasket failure. No, all warning lamps came on at the sametime.
This is very serious while driving on the highway vehicle warning for engine temperature right after check engine came on. I almos crashed becuase the engine temperature close to limit asked to reduce the acceleration but how can I slow down in 2 lines fast highway on very dark night. This very, very unsafely and Honda should take this seriously if they claim safety is priority.
Head gasket issue, misfiring whiles in the middle of the road.
I am reporting two safety-related issues with my 2022 Honda Accord hybrid. 1. Head gasket failure at approximately 93,500 miles, the head gasket failed without any prior warning signs. The vehicle had been regularly maintained at Honda dealerships, with one service done by a third-party mechanic around 87,000 miles. There were no engine warning lights or coolant leak warnings before the incident. The engine temperature warning suddenly appeared while driving, and I immediately stopped the car. A Honda dealership confirmed the head gasket failure and quoted over $4,000 for repairs. This kind of major engine failure is highly unusual for such a new vehicle and raises serious concerns about long-term engine durability or possible design flaws in the cooling system or head gasket components. 2. False activation of automatic emergency braking (aeb) the vehicle’s automatic emergency braking system frequently activates or issues a warning while driving, even when there are no obstacles or vehicles nearby. This has happened multiple times and creates a sudden sense of panic, increasing the risk of being rear-ended or losing control of the vehicle. Both issues suggest potential safety defects in this model. I respectfully request that the national highway traffic safety administration investigate whether similar complaints have been reported for the 2022 Honda Accord hybrid, as these failures could pose significant safety risks.
My car won’t crank. My touch screen is glitching. My idol system doesn’t work nor does my parking brake system.
Head gasket. Diagnosis gave by Honda.
With temperatures in the lower 40’s 30’s, the car won’t accelerate, lane assist, emission system problem, brake system, steering and many other warnings occur.
Ive previously reported on here errors I was getting, when pushing the gas, multiple all engine lights going off at once. Its like when you push the gas, the engine stallls, and then all the lights light up; the turbo charger errors; fuel sys 1 error; fuel sys 2 error; etc. The cruise control on does the same thing - especially if there is any type of incline. I know that many other Honda owners are experiencing the same and saw their complaints; I see there is now a recall, but why is my car not showing on here, when clearly it should be. Im asking for a file number and an investigation. Where can I go to get this looked at? nobody is following up with me. I believe this is fitting recall21v-215 or 20v-314.
Blown head gasket.
On 9/20/2024, the dashboard on my 2022 Honda Accord flashed 11 information alerts, including brake hold system problem, emissions systems problem, electric power steering, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, collision & road departure mitigation braking system problem, tpms, brake system problem. I purchased car with less than 50 miles on it in 2021 and had no major issues prior to this. Car has less than 50,000 miles.
The entire dashboard light up like a christmas tree. Multiple error codes detected with no fix.
My vehicle has fuel injector issues and Honda refuses to repair under manufacturers warranty although it's a safety issue and defects in their products . When my vehicle starts it misfires and causes the vehicle to go in limp mode disabling all safety features. No airbags or brakes etc . If these thousands of vehicles remain on the road it's not safe to drive. The vehicle stalls in the middle of roadways making it dangerous for everyone due to Honda bad quality control. Thank you for your consideration.
Idle shut off system don’t work, only 3,700 miles.
Car is only 5 months old and 1500 miles. All lights on dashboard are on. Check engine, check brake, check emissions, check collision mitigation, check abs - literally all lights are on.
The contact bought his goddaughter a 2022 Honda Accord. The contact stated while his goddaughter's husband was driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated the brake system, the admission system, the tpms and vehicle assist stability warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The owner towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the vtc to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the following day, the dealer informed the contact that the engine also needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 22.
