The radio and apps system freezes and can't be used and a lot of the time the radio and apps just start changing on their own and it's constant between apps making my screen difficult to use or unable to use at all.
The radio is malfunctioning. It is switching off, toggling between screens, switching stations, turning off car play when in use and closing out assitive driving apps and there is no one touching the screen.
Entertainment touch screen glitching: frozen screen, randomly switch screens, random voice activation, random clicking different spot of screen, random exiting navigation system.
The infotainment touchscreen/head unit in my 2022 Honda Accord touring repeatedly registers random “ghost touches” without being touched. This defect primarily affects apple carplay maps, where the screen zooms, jumps, or changes routes on its own. On multiple occasions, it has caused me to miss turns and created distractions while driving, putting my safety and others at risk. The problem began around may 2025 and occurs frequently. There are no warning lamps or error codes. The dealer was informed but stated that there is no recall or service bulletin, and replacement would only be at the owner’s expense. This issue is widespread among Honda Accord owners, with many reporting identical ghost touch malfunctions online. Because the infotainment screen also controls navigation, climate, and audio functions, the defect interferes with essential driving controls and creates a significant safety hazard.
The panel in the car glitches as you’re driving, you can’t use carplay because it keeps switching to the radio back and forth randomly. Also while you’re using maps, it turns off your route in the middle of your driving.
2022 Honda Accord infotainment “ghost touch” defect I am reporting a recurring safety defect involving the infotainment touchscreen in my 2022 Honda Accord. The touchscreen intermittently registers false inputs (“ghost touches”) without any user interaction. During operation, the screen randomly changes radio stations, switches applications, exits navigation, opens menus, changes settings, and becomes unresponsive. The issue occurs while driving and forces the driver to divert attention from the roadway in an effort to regain control of the system. This defect creates a significant distraction and increases the risk of a crash, particularly when navigation is being used in unfamiliar areas. In some instances, the screen becomes completely unusable for extended periods. My understanding is that many other 2021–2022 Honda Accord owners have reported identical symptoms, including screen replacements that failed to permanently resolve the problem. Numerous public complaints describe the same malfunction and indicate that the issue may be widespread. I believe this defect warrants investigation because it affects a driver interface that is relied upon during vehicle operation. Honda has not provided a permanent repair solution, and affected owners continue to experience recurring failures across multiple Honda models and trims. I respectfully request that NHTSA investigate this defect and determine whether a recall or other corrective action is warranted. Vehicle: 2022 Honda Accord.
The head unit touch screen in the car continuously beeps and glitches, sometimes turning on the radio, inability to adjust volume, and is presenting a risk as it is a serious distraction while driving the vehicle. There is no option to turn the head unit off itself without removing it from the vehicle.
Infotainment center constantly glitches! ghost touches. No way to fix it. Had screen replaced 3 times by Honda. Safety hazard because my maps will go off road. Needs fixed ASAP!.
The radio display jumps around from stations to other displays without being touch and will cut on by itself.
The problem is with the infotainment system. It was replaced once under warranty but is again malfunctioning. The infotainment system controls some critical features of the vehicle. One instance is when trying to calibrate tpms after a low condition, it is impossible to get control of the display as it makes "ghost" selections or is hung up. Resets both hard and soft do not work. Removing the negative battery cable doesn't work. Note that research shows many Accords and other models are effected. It also seems the manufacturer is aware of the situation and doing nothing to correct it. This is a safety issue. If it were just the radio effected, I really would care. But because the cars systems rely on the infotainment systems, its a concern. Symptoms are : freezing & crashing: the screen becomes unresponsive or shuts down unexpectedly. Phantom touches: the screen registers touches that aren't happening, selecting things randomly on its own. Audio/radio malfunctions: stations changing or bluetooth disconnecting. System restarts: the unit turns off and on by itself, even after the car is off.
2022 Honda Accord hybrid owner's manual: it would seem that the owner's manual in this report I'm personally submitting isn't providing proper instructions to the public for changing motor oil. Motor oil is scalding hot when not left to cool for long enough yet also when improper gloves are used for changing the motor oil itself. Please see attachments: on page 545 where the specific title "changing the engine oil and oil filter" begins, prior to entry number four, there are no instructions for any amount of time required for waiting for cooling the engine nor are there instructions about the heavy-duty gloves that should be used in the process of changing the oil. Entry number four states in plain language, "remove the drain bolt and washer from the bottom of the engine, and drain the oil into a suitable container. " --- this would be an extremely terrible standard to set for the public. Furthermore, there are no safety messages on either of those two pages that are specific to the "danger", "warning", or "caution" safety messages that are seen towards the beginning of the owner's manual referenced above. I hope this does not resemble anything close to a wide-spread standard. In fact, it shouldn't be the standard anywhere. Please assist the public in providing proper screening for automobile owner's manuals such as these. Thank you. (referenced incident date invalid due to data field parameters).
Suddenly slows down without any reason while lane changing or at stop sign. It is a safety issues.
The air conditioning system failed due to the clutch coil melting. Parts are not available for inspection as the dealer failed to leave the parts in my trunk as I requested.
I have been driving for over 30 years and have never had a windshield. Have a crack in it and now with this car. In less than two years, I have about six cracks in my windshield, which I've had to repair. I have also had serious problem with the car. Automatically braking with adaptive cruise control where there's no one in front of me, but the car just breaks for no reason.
The touch screen malfunctions. The hands-free functions and navigation functions cannot be accessed. The touch screen randomly switches from application-to-application beeping every time it does this. This occurs every 10-15 seconds. I believe this is a safety concern for 2 reasons. First, I travel with a 3 year old. The lack of navigation and hands-free calling presents a safety problem as I must look down to my phone in order to see where I need to go. I cannot receive or make a call without exiting the highway and stopping my vehicle. Second, the incessant beeping, and screens jumping around is very distracting. This is a known Honda issue for a 2022 Honda Accord. Honda replaced the screen once. It worked properly for 5 months and the problem has recurred. The only recourse advised at this point was to contact you to make a report.
Safety concern radio stopped connecting to android as well apple play. Can no longer hear turn to turn directions when using maps. Or receive calls hands free. Radio unit turns on but no audio comes through the speakers.
Component: infotainment system / touchscreen panel (display audio unit) description of issue and safety concern: the infotainment touchscreen panel on my 2022 Honda Accord malfunctions intermittently and unpredictably. It rapidly and repeatedly switches between modes (e. G. , fm, am, bluetooth, phone) in a spastic pattern, similar to morse code. This behavior often renders the touchscreen non-responsive. Even when powered off manually, it will turn itself back on and continue cycling through modes uncontrollably. This poses a safety risk •creating driver distraction due to constant flashing, sound changes, and alerts. •interrupting navigation, bluetooth phone calls, and backup camera use. •making it difficult to adjust settings or audio without taking eyes off the road. •forcing the driver to troubleshoot or disable the screen while driving. The issue has been confirmed and documented by an authorized Honda dealership, and the vehicle is still under warranty. However, the part needed for repair has been unavailable, on backorder, since 9/2024. Despite multiple attempts, the manufacturer has not resolved the issue. No warning lamps or diagnostic codes are present, but the defect remains ongoing and persistent. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. ________________________________________.
The infotainment system is having ghost swipes and the touch screen at times is completely unresponsive. Looks like this is an ongoing issue among other Honda Accords from model year 2022. The issue is dangerous as it can cause the radio to switch screens rapidly due to the ghost touch, therefore, causing the driver to potentially try to return the screen to its original setting. This also causes issues with the hands free phone system which can also lead to driver safety issues.
Distracted driving awareness month to whom it may concern: a little over a year ago, my 17-year-old car “gave up the ghost” and I bought a new Honda Accord. With this new car came a host of new-to-me technology. One item, that screen in the middle of my dashboard, is a contributing factor to the distracted driving problem. Push buttons on radios were a great safety feature when first introduced. They allow drivers to change stations while driving without fiddling with the dial. Now, however, a driver takes their eyes off the road to look at the screen and select a channel or band or podcast, etc. Driving my old car, when I needed directions, I’d ask siri to give me directions to a particular place, and she would talk me through it, giving me plenty of notice regarding when to turn, which exit to use, etc. All the while I kept my eyes on the road. Regretfully now, siri also shows me a map on the screen indicating when to turn. Yes, she still talks to me, but there is this great temptation to take my eyes off the road and see where I’m going. During this distracted driving awareness month, I encourage you to reflect on the unnecessary road hazard that exist in the middle of the dashboard and eliminate those screens in future cars. We drove very well without them for over a century. And we don’t need another reason to take our eyes off the road.
The infotainment screen glitches all the time while driving and while stopped. Examples of this include the screen zooming out of your navigation then no longer responding to your touches, leading you to take your eyes off the road and get distracted. The screen also makes random phone calls and hangs up calls. The screen will quickly change to another app or screen creating quick flashes and distractions especially driving at night. Also, while in reverse the different camera views are unavailable because the screen won’t respond to your touches. This is a huge distraction while driving and makes for an unsafe driving experience. The dealer said years ago that they could replace the screen but the parts are on back order and it’s been months of no response from them every time we ask about a replacement unit. Others have also reported replacing the screen doesn’t solve the issue as it just keeps happening again. Honda should recall all these defective units.
Today on may 13th 2023 I was driving on lie 495 freeway with my wife. All of sudden we heard the explosion and could hear the air noise from the sunroof. We pulled vehicle on the side and found out glass was broken and there wasn’t any rock or any other object which could cause the damage. We think it’s quality of the glass which could not resonate the heat and pressure could have caused.
The carplay keeps freezing, which causes a safety issue when attempting to fix the problem. For instance, the carplay froze while traveling long distances. I did not notice it stopped working and kept driving, assuming the exit was further away. Once I briefly looked again at the highway, I realized it was frozen, and I had to go to the shoulder of the road to restart the car play. I leased the car on 1/7/2023, and my carplay has frozen over seven times in 3 months. It causes a safety issue because I have to go on the shoulder of the highway, which leads to a random place (once in a hazardous area), and causes me to keep restarting the system and car.
First incident, I purchased my vehicle in November 2022 in March 2023 my transmission failed. When replaced, the dealer didn't connect all hoses causing more issues and now my car struggles to shift. Dealerships made aware several time. Second incident, over the past year my infotainment system has been glitching. Switching between all settings, from the radio to the bluetooth, screen freezing, etc. Imagine driving for hours with continuous beeping. Dealer replaced the screen and still no resolution. Dealer claims that they're investigating the issue but still hasn't.
My 2022 Honda Accord infotainment have what is being referred to as "ghost touches" the screen very erratically switches between settings in the system, clear programmed data, and adjust the radio and volume without being touched. This has been a major distraction while driving and pose has huge safety risk for myself and put others at risks for accidents. I have had several near misses because of this. You never know when it will happen so when it does, it immediately removes your eyes off the road where it should be while driving to try and attempt to get it to stop because the switching is loud and distracting especially with the volume adjustments. I purchased the vehicle new, the first owner and not even a three months later the nightmare began. I have taken it to the Honda dealership serval times when it is happening and the course of action is a screen reset and the issue still persist. There were no warnings or lights that came on prior to it to happening, it just began and has never stopped. The reset is not a sufficient solution and the only other option there is to replace it which cost well over a thousand dollars and most customers can't afford it. This a serious Honda issue that needs to be address because there are a lot of customers having this issue and nothing is being done about it or assistance with getting it repaired.
Both mirrors outer cover are misshaped as is they were burned or overheated.
Infotainment screen flashing different screens intermittently, changes from radio stations, volume and apple carplay. Cannot be turned off. It must be a software problem. Honda dealer has no solution, I have brought in the issue three times with no solution offered. I have now passed my warranty so must pay for repairs. Window system malfunctioning, will not work at random times.
Loud noise coming from outside, can’t use bluetooth the person on the other line can’t hear due to the noise so loud. Looks like doesn’t have enough insulation that you can hear all the noise in rough highway specially in i95.
The stationary window on the back passenger side shattered while the car was parked in the driveway on a very hot day. There did not appear to be any single point of contact. The glass was uniformly shattered. First off—I took the car to the dealer and they didnt even bother to look at it and said I would have to file a claim with Honda which I did. Then the dealer said the window must have been struck by a rock by looking at a few pictures that I submitted and Honda customer representative ghosted me and wouldn’t answer when I called or return vms. There were fine glass splinters on the inside of the car from the window which would be a safety issue.
Within 15k miles the cars wheel bearing completely went and needed to be replaced. The steering in my opinion hasn’t been the same since. I’ve had it in the shop 3-4 different times in relation to the wheels/steering. The car will also randomly brake as if it’s going to hit something when forward collision assistance is on. It’s nearly got me rear ended 3 times. The original dealership I took it too since I was out of town put that something was hit when in truth I never said that and it was actually the tow trucks wench that damaged the dust shield.
Thank god nothing has happened but almost. I bought my car brand new and 2 weeks into having it I have been having issues with the infotainment system. Its very distracting. Sometimes it distracts me so much that I swerve while driving trying to stop it. It also is interfering with my experience listening to music. Something needs to be done as im not the only one having this experience.
