Summary of incident: for approximately two years, my vehicle has experienced random electrical issues. All dashboard warning lights will flash at random times. When I take the vehicle to the dealership (bell Honda), the problem disappears before it can be diagnosed. On September 27, 2025, and again on September 28, 2025, the vehicle completely stopped and shut off while I was driving. It would not restart. The hazard lights were stuck on and could not be turned off. This left me stranded and in a dangerous situation. After approximately 2-3 minutes, the vehicle was able to restart, but numerous warning lights remained illuminated on the dashboard. I had the vehicle tested with a diagnostic tool at an autozone, but no apparent issues were found in the system. Additional information: this is an ongoing and unresolved safety issue that Honda has failed to address. This electrical problem, which causes the vehicle to shut down unexpectedly, is a significant safety hazard. This issue is in addition to another ongoing problem with the remote start system, which Honda has refused to diagnose and fix. Consequences and concerns: the unexpected shutdown of the vehicle while in operation is extremely dangerous and could lead to a serious accident. The inability to use hazard lights properly further increases the risk to myself and other drivers. The intermittent nature of the problem makes it difficult to diagnose, but the consistent occurrence poses a serious risk that requires immediate investigation by Honda and the NHTSA.
The idle stop system every time I turn it off it will automatically come back on and this feature makes me feel as if when it keeps doing that after I’m constantly turning it off from it popping back on that sometimes it don’t want to catch speed. I for see this being a long term issue if all Hondas are like this .
When overtaking semi-trucks on the passenger side, as I approach the truck's cab, my vehicle turns off cruise control and sometimes applies the brakes while the vehicle icon will show an obstetrical is in my lane. On a few occasions, the emergency brake bar flashes and the car decelerates. Once I react (usually by applying the gas) the warnings go away. When I called Honda, they said to go to the dealer. The dealer states the vehicle is within specs and there is nothing they can do.
On December 29th, 2023, the display dashboard was filled with alarms, breaks, alignment, tire pressure, etc. I took it to the dealership, and they ran diagnostics and found nothing wrong. They told me to bring it next time it happens. On Tuesday, March 19th, at 7:15 a. M. I was driving to work in rush hour traffic. My display dashboard was filled with alarms, and my vehicle did not allow me to accelerate. I put on my hazards and attempted to reach the shoulder. I was fortunate to have the assistance of the truck behind me, which realized something went wrong and blocked me so I could get to the shoulder. Once on the shoulder, I took photos of the dashboard, turned the vehicle off, and restarted. I was able to accelerate. I called the dealership and took the car in. They are still unsure of the problem. They think it might be a "control module. " the part is on backorder so that the potential fix will take a week to several months. The dealership wants me to pick up the vehicle and use it until the part comes in. I will not. They do not have a loaner. I am keeping it with them until the part comes in. I will also be hounding them to provide me with a loaner until they can do so. I refuse to drive a vehicle that could stop working at any moment. I will not be a danger to myself, my family, or others.
Cruise control will apply brakes when lane ahead is clear. This happens multiple times per trip, every trip. Automatic emergency braking way too aggressive. Has nearly caused me to be rear ended twice. I try to remember to disable it every drive. I wish I could permanently disable it.
The 2023 Honda Accord sport hybrid has 8302 miles and it had complete brake failure. We had just refueled the car and moving away from the pumps, the pedal sank to the floor. I pumped the brakes several times and was able to stop the car. This was at about 3mph. Received a message on the dash that the brakes were compromised and not to drive the car. Shut the car off and restarted. The brake pedal was spongy. We drove home (about 2 miles) very slowly, using the brakes minimally. When I got home, I shut the car off. I decided I wanted a picture of the dash warning, but it didn't return. Went for a very low speed drive to try to duplicate the problem, but it seems normal now. Bringing to original dealer, 12-17-2023. We've had several other issues related to the parking brakes and cruise control on 11-13-23. Brought to dealer on 11-16-23 and they were unable to fix due to part shortage. They failures displayed are: 1 - brake system - parking brake not available. 2 - brake system - brake hold system problem. 3 - adaptive cruise control system problem. The drivers side rear seatbelt will not retract. Brought to dealer waiting for part to repair. We are fortunate this happened in a parking lot with little traffic. If this happened on a roadway at speed I would have no way to slow the car. This is a hybrid so I am not able to downshift, the parking brake is not functioning due to previous problem and the electronic drive doe not provide compression braking if I shut the car off. I would be happy to answer any further questions you may have.
Was driving around 70 mph all the Honda safety equipment started to fail(cruise, power steering, parking, 7 different warnings) brought to dealer is still there car has been oos for a week.
March - mpg display rapid fluctuations causing car to use more gas than should. It resolved itself a few weeks after taking it to dealership and them saying it not a problem but I don’t think it should’ve been like that. August 29 - acc stop sensing car in-front me immediately after turning on indicator and sped up resulting in and accident, luckily no one was injured. September 7 - while reversing into a frequently used parking spot the car thought ‘the wall was moving’ it has never done that before. Automatic collision braking activates when vehicle or object is nowhere near the car and almost caused accidents multiple times. I thought this was natural at first but then I heard of others having the same problem.
All the lights on my dash came on and the car would not move no faster than 10mph. Took it to the dealership and the mechanic stated that the brake light switch was not properly installed at the factory.
While driving I received a message stating the automatic emergency braking, steering assist, lane keeping assist, braking assist, hill hold, adaptive cruise control all we turned off. Additionally regenerative braking was also turned off. This system problem did not clear after the car turned off and back on. The dealership addressed the issue, but unsure of the cause. All codes were cleared and the system was recalibrated. This is the first incident of this type with this vehicle.
The car has been showing a system update error and a message to please see the dealer when started from about 1000miles after I purchased it. I contacted Honda service center in irving over a month ago and they mentioned that Honda is aware of this problem and is working on a solution soon. I have since not been contacted and am having to visit back there almost weekly to get a solution to this. These cars are new and almost entirely automatic and this is becoming an area of concern for my safety as well as my families safety. Over time I have also noticed the automatic break system signaling me to break when there is no obstacle ahead or even in the vicinity. Not to mention that the adaptive cruise control causes a hard break while next to cars in the nearby lanes even when they are not merging or coming within my lines.
