1 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2005 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/31/2020

The back seat does not allow for a flat sturdy surface for an infant car seat. I have pulled as tight as I can on the seat belt and latches and find that neither offers a secure 1" standard of play. The seats tip when I turn a corner with my grandchild in it. It is unsturdy. I have tried heavy and light seats and they still tip. I have to stuff towels underneath to try to balance, but of course a towel in an accident will not protect in an accident. By law I must use a back seat and not a front seat. Is there a flatter more stable back seat?.

2 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2016 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/22/2020

!. Car seat is unstable in back seat no matter where you place it. 2. I have 40,450 miles on my 2016 Accord sedan and have spent $300 already only for my a/c to not work. It keeps blowing the relay switch out. Now they're telling me I need a new clutch and it will be almost $1400; my display will change and my radio goes off, my doors may or may not lock/unlock. I believe it stems from the electrical problems with the battery recall (which I had repaired, but battery keeps corroding) leaking moisture into the engine.

3 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/26/2019

The vehicle was stationary. The drivers side seat back was moved forward to allow access to the back seat. Then the drivers side seat back would not lock in an upright position. With no seat back in its upright position, it was near impossible to drive. I took it to a Honda dealership. The weld on the seat frame that allowed the back to be locked in its upright position was broken. The dealer replaced the broken seat frame. He frame cost $1320 and labor was $409.

5 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/13/2015

I visited the Honda dealership in sterling, va a couple of months ago and had to get my brakes replaced. At that time I asked if they could fix my back driver's seat. . (my daughter who is 10 got into the car one day and kicked the back seat by accident with her foot and it fell) I was told they could fix it and they could do it that day because they had the plastic clips in stock but it would cost an additional $197. 00 (I can't remember exact amount) but I told them I was paying a lot of money already for replacing my brakes and I couldn't afford right now and told them I would be back. The guys tried to get the clip to hold (and I was very thankful) but as soon as I pulled out of the dealership it fell again. I was very happy with the service and there was one man in particular who was very helpful and I wished I had his name to tell you. So, I had an apt today at 9:15 and got there at early at 8:50. The guy finally came back to me about 10:30 or so and said they couldn't fix the back seat because the way this was built wasn't done properly and these this will just keep breaking. He said I would have to replace the seat back and the cost would be $335. 00 plus tax and shop supplies. Really? I said then why wasn't I told this when I was here a couple of weeks ago. Why do I have to pay for something that is a defect in the first place? he said sorry I just fix the cars I don't make them. He was very nice a polite but I don't feel I should have to pay for this at all. I asked him . . . . Why didn't you tell me when I was here before and he replied because of my money restraints. That makes no sense!!! why before you can just replace the plastic clips and now all of the sudden you have to replace the whole back panel. I don't know what is going on but I would like for someone to call me and talk to me about this situation. I am not a happy customer.

6 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/05/2014

After about 2 and a half hours of driving, my butt (right side) and leg would hurt unbearably, to the point of me twisting and turning to get comfortable. I would pull over at a rest stop, walk around for 10 - 15 mins, but about 90mins of driving later the pain is back again. This happens in both front seats. I dont know about the back seats as yet. I like the car, but this is terrible.

7 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

The seats and head rests has been poorly designed. It looks that these has been designed for men having a height of more than 6 feet. I have a standard height of 5'-9'. When I rest my head to the head rest, it touches only less than one cm to the head rest. I can not lower down the height of head rest because the back of the seat is too high. There is a big gap between neck and head rest. I have made a rough sketch of this situation but I don't know how to send it to you. The most dangerous aspect of this design is that if a speedy car or truck hits my car in the back, my head will stop with head rest and body will stop with back of seat but neck, having no support backward, will bent and may be broken and ultimately may cause of death. I faxed it in details to Honda customer service, torrance, ca90501 on 12/3/12 with sketch and faxed three times every week. I also advised them to make an experiment: have a dummy of man made of broken glass, seat it in the car, buckle up and hit the car forcibly in the back, the neck of dummy will be broken. I told them that the car was garaged for the last more than one month at 8024 miles odometer reading, take this faulty car back and return my money. After more than 40 days, I received a phone call from Honda customer service that my claim was rejected as the car was not found faulty. I request you to please check this fault and take necessary action at your end. I am ready to hand over the car to you. I am not using this car any more.

8 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/30/2012

Seats are designed extremely badly - they made some change from prior year(s), as I have been an Accord owner for many years, and I have never had neck and back problems caused by its seats before. I noticed the issue right away after driving it for about a half hour - you just don't do that at the dealership. If I had had the car for a day or so to drive, I would not have bought it due to this problem. Issues: headrest is tilted forward in such a way that it causes neck and back pain. The seat itself is not comfortable - kind of slumped and cupped in a bad way. Promotes pain and very poor posture for someone 5'4" (me). If you remove headrest, you have just screwed yourself out of a safety feature. I can't believe Honda, as a good company, is not responding to people's complaints about this. My neck and back problems caused by this now require medical attention, and I am seriously thinking of selling the car and never buying another Honda product again, if they don't make it right soon. Safety issues: (following came from another complainant, and I agree with all of it) the seats and head rests has been poorly designed. It looks that these has been designed for men having a height of more than 6 feet. I have a standard height of 5'-9'. When I rest my head to the head rest, it touches only less than one cm to the head rest. I can not lower down the height of head rest because the back of the seat is too high. 9 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/31/2012

Seat design does not provide comfort and could cause driver to have an accident because you have to shift your body so that the seams on the seat do not pinch your sciatica nerve. . . It causes numbness in your leg which could impact pressing on the accelerator. Also, back of seat design causes pain for people with back issues (herniated discs).

11 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/27/2011

I have owned this car for a little over a year. The front seats are so uncomfortable they makes me tense know I have to get back in it. After riding for a short distances my neck and back hurt. How could a company make a new car and put such horrible seats in them. The back seat ride better than the front seat. Now if I could only drive sitting in the back seat. The car might run well and get decent gas mileage but I would never purchase another Honda. If they used real people riding in these seats they would have corrected this problem before placing them in their cars. Honda please correct this problem.

13 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2002 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/21/2009

I was involved in an accident where I was rear ended on a highway at a fairly high speed. Both my seat back and the empty passenger seat back collapsed into the back seat before being thrown forward where I was above the steering wheel close enough that I could see that my eyes were about two inches from the windshield and then I was then thrown back again to the laying down position of my seat. In my peripheral vision I could see the seat back of the empty passenger seat doing the same thing as my seat. This appears to be a safety issue especially because I have two car seats in the back seat for my infant and toddler that where thankfully empty at the time. In order to get out of my car I had to return my seat to the upright position which I was suprisingly able to do using the automatic button. This appears to be a safety issue. As a side note: three weeks prior to the accident my seatbelt was replaced under a warranty and the rest of my safety devices found to be in good working order by the dealership.

15 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/28/2005

On multiple occasions (the last makes at least three times, maybe more) the rear seat of the vehicle becomes soaked after rain. On the first occasion the dealer said they repaired some type of harness/gromet that wasn't sealed at the factory. Initially the water was only coming through the passenger side and the latest occurance happened on the driver side. This time they have removed the fuel tank to address the problem. The rear seat and seat belts have now been replaced multiple times. Waiting for the next rain. . .

16 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/14/2005

On two known occasions the passenger rear seat of my vehicle is saturated after driving on wet roadways. I am usually the only passenger in the vehicle and both times this has occurred I was transporting other persons that noticed the problem. I took it in to be repaired and was told there was a seal that wasn't fastened properly at the assembly of the car. The service department mentioned, a harness, grommets and some type of seal. This second time I was told that they found the seal was again not proper. I have concerns of mold, mildew and other potential water damage. Especially since it is rare that I would notice because my vehicle mainly transports myself and rarely others, that would notice the problem.

20 Mid/rear Seats Assembly problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/30/2000

Left metal control arm that raises and lowers the drivers seat has broken. Both the metal and the weld have broken and the bar under the seat is no longer attached to the control arm under the left front of the seat. The seat flops and is unstable. This car has not been involved in an accident but the fear is that had it been or should it be, the seat will fall backwards causing serious injury to both the driver and rear seat passenger. Should the right side fail, the seat will not be held in place at all. This does not seem to be the type of failure that should occur under normal circumstances or even in an accident. Honda will accept no responsibility for this failure even though it appears to be a serious safety concern.
