Broken seat frame brackets/rails/hinges leaving driver to seat in reclining position, preventing the driver to brake and apply necessary pressure to stop safely and prevent an accident. I was driving and was involved in a minor accident. I noticed that I couldn't apply the necessary pressure to stop the car safely because the driver's seat was moving preventing me from applying the necessary pressure on the brakes.

While I was waiting to make a left turn, I was hit from the rear. My seat broke and it left me in a reclining position.
I was stopped waiting to make a left turn when I was hit from the rear by another vehicle. . . My seat broke and it left me in a reclining position.
The driver's seat frame broke on my 2002 Honda Accord . The shop didn't want to weld it because of concerns it would simply break again. A new seat would have cost $1200 plus labor. I got one from a wrecked car for $560.

2002 Honda Accord. Consumer states that the hinges on the seat broke, the shoulder belt did not keep her securely against seat, only the lap belt worked. Consumer suffered numerous injuries from the accident. The consumer stated she was sitting at a stop light, when she was rear ended by a drunk driver. The consumer stated at no time did the air bags deploy. The consumer stated she received a recall notice in the mail. # 11v260000 regarding the air bags.
My 2005 Honda Accord lx v6 srs light illuminated at approx. 63000 miles. The Honda dealer diagnosed the problem to dtc 71-10 (broken driver seat sensor harness). Honda had a safety recall (service bulletin 07-002) regarding this problem in January 2007. My vehicle was not included in the recall. Out of pocket cost $203. 29. I have seen many other complaints lodged with the NHTSA on this matter. Why was this recall not expanded?.

The service manager for concord Honda in 2007 recommended that I fix a broken weld on the driver seat frame by having it re-welded to fix the problem. I had asked the service manager to take it to Honda of America to have the seat replaced even thought it was past the warranty period because the weld should not have failed within a six year time period. The weld on the seat has broken again and the current service manager said they will not stand behind the repair both because the warranty has passed for a repair, but also he would not repair the seat because the original service manager should not have re-welded the frame as it would not be safe to do so. I called Honda of America to talk to them this time and was told that they might have addressed the problem in the 2006/2007 time frame, but that the car was now to old now for them to address the problem. What is bothering me is that they admit the seats will not stay fixed to the frame in an accident. Nor do they seem to care about early failure of the welds and them not holding. I have had a car that was 35 years old and the welds were still in place. Thank you.

I was hit from behind in an accident. My driver seat broke in the accident. The base cracked and the seat came loose. This accident was not severe enough that my seat should have broken. This is a safety concern. The seat has not been fixed yet. The accident happened Friday and Monday I'm taking the car to get estimates.

I have a 2005 Honda Accord ex #. I have a broken seat position sensor wire harness. This vehicle falls outside the recall VIN series for the Honda recall q31. I think that they cut off the vehicle series to soon. My car has the same problem as the recall. I have contacted Honda and have received no satisfaction.
The front driver seat broke from track and caused driver to move freely even with seat belt on. This occurred at approximately 54k on my Accord. It broke when my father (200 lbs) reached in his front pocket to retrieve his wallet. Took to mechanic and they removed seat and had to weld seat back. I have seen other Accord owners with similar seat malfunction and the potential injury this could cause if in a collision to driver. The seat should not break so easily and with only 54k on vehicle either.
Problem involving broken seat rails on 1998 Honda Accord. The consumer found a recall through a Honda service update 03-034 concerning seat linkage assembly. The problem that the update indicated was the same type of failure that the consumer's car exhibited. The consumer was told that although his vehicle was built between the dates given that his vehicle was not included in the service update due to VIN. The consumer contacted that manufacturer for assistance but they were unwilling to provide any financial assistance.

I own 1998 Honda Accord uex, and I'm told the rail that holds the drivers seat is broken. This makes seat belts and other safety devices useless as the seat is essentially a rocking chair and unsecured. The dealer refuses to fix the problem even though it was brought to the dealers attention while it was still under warranty.
Subject: front seat breaks off in rear end collision on Honda Accord sedan. O whom it may concern, purchased a brand new 2002 Honda Accord lx sedan from bloomfield Honda in bloomfield hills, michigan one year ago. My wife was rear ended by a large Ford truck while she was stopped to make a left turn onto a neighborhood street. I truck didnt even brake and drove the truck all the way up to the backseat. Luckily she was wearing a seat belt. Her driver seat, however, broke off its moorings at the floorboard giving her no support as she was flung backward in the crash. It was like the front seat was a rocking chair after the crash. No part of the front end was damage except the driver seat (only the rear end had been struck). The trunk and rear-end are destroyed. Are drivers seats supposed to come loose or break off in crashes??? is this the Honda way? we have owned Hondas for years and this is a major quality breech and a danger. If my wife wasnt wearing that seat belt she might be dead. The manager of the dealership said this sometimes happened in the Honda Accord in rear end collisions. . . This is acceptable???? the drivers seat would have driven her into the dash. I would also rethink not having the airbag deploy in a severe rear-end collision. It would have helped in this incident.

Seat track is broken and seat is flopping around. The metal piece that attached to the seat frame has broken off. When looking at the break, observed metal shavings on floor and a lot of metal shavings at the point of the break. Appears to be a defective part or workmanship. My concern is that if I had had an accident, the seat would not have held and I could have been thrown out the back of the car. I have reported this to Honda customer care department, they did not seem concerned at all. Offered to pay half of the part required to fix this but they said the part was around $700! I have not had it fixed yet because I feel they should be responsible. I see that mine is the 4th complaint reported to you regarding this same issue.
