1 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/22/2025

My vehicle’s fuel delivery system failed after a recall repair. The in-tank fuel pump was replaced under recall by the dealer, even though I had no drivability complaints, no warning lights, and a full inspection that day confirmed no issues with my vehicle. Immediately after the recall pump replacement, the vehicle developed drivability problems including sputtering, hesitation, and failure to start. On one occasion, the underside of the car overheated and exhaust fumes, including carbon monoxide, entered the cabin. The interior filled with heat and fumes, I became lightheaded, dizzy, and shaky, and nearly lost consciousness while driving. My dog, who was with me, vomited and panted heavily from the exposure. I had to pull over and exit the vehicle immediately. This incident occurred only after the recall pump was replaced and points to faulty installation or malfunction of the recall component, which disrupted the fuel system and caused improper combustion and exhaust handling. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection, leaving me at serious risk of being hit by cross traffic. The car now shows a high-pressure fuel pump fault. Although the in-tank pump and the high-pressure pump are in different locations, they are part of the same system: the in-tank pump supplies steady fuel volume and pressure directly to the high-pressure pump. If the in-tank pump is defective, mis-installed, or inconsistent, it causes the high-pressure pump to fail. This made my vehicle unsafe to operate, placing me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, which documented a high-pressure fuel pump fault, and reviewed by Honda corporate. Components and service records are available for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages, or drivability issues prior to the recall service, all symptoms appeared immediately afterward.

2 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/19/2025

I have taken my car to the Honda dealership on multiple occasions because my car has stopped accelerating while driving on the interstate. The car will flash the check engine light and completely stop accelerating while driving. I was first told it was the fuel pump that was recalled and waiting over a year on the recalled part and multiple times breaking down while driving they finally replaced the part. After the dealership replaced fuel pump I continued to have problems unfortunately happening more often and worse than before replacing the fuel pump. I was then told my car was misfiring and needing a tune up which would involve replacing all four coil packs and spark plugs. I replaced all of these recommended parts with no resolution to my problem. I have since be told by the dealership my car needs all four fuel injectors replaced after running the diagnostic tests. After doing research it seems to be a common problem with this make and model car. I can’t believe with as many cars with this same issue and the safety issues with completely stalling in the middle of traffic there are no recalls on these cars.

3 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/13/2025

When it is cold outside my acc light comes on and when I started my car the other day it read emissons service problem avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. That was just 1 among 7 other service warning that popped up.

4 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/13/2025

This car is known for its faulty engine. The head gasket tends to blow as early as 40k miles, plenty of people have had this problem and yet there is no recall for the engine or a fix. I was driving on the highway and I was speeding up to merge into traffic and my check engine light started to flash and my car went into limp mode on the highway luckily there wasn't a lot of traffic and I got the chance to pull over and restart my car. I looked online and plenty of people were experiencing this same problem they all had the same answer as well, a blown head gasket. I'm just wondering if someone has to pass away before this gets fixed.

5 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/12/2025

My 2018 Honda Accord ex is currently having fuel injector problems at 41,000 miles. Honda is trying to tell me that fuel injectors do not get affected by the recalled fuel pump. This is very silly because the fuel pump and fuel injectors work together. They want $1,800 to replace the fuel injectors at Honda. I already completed the recall on the fuel pump, and afterward, they told me my injector was running too rich and needed to be replaced for $1800. There are so many Honda 1. 5ts experiencing these same issues, and Honda does not want to do anything about it. I am currently taking my car to a local shop to get the fuel injectors replaced for $1,327. I believe I should be reimbursed since the fuel pump is what caused my fuel injectors to fail. Honda is trying to tell me that two fuel components of a car don’t correlate with each other? this isn’t fair, and I need to be reimbursed.

6 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/08/2025

Check engine lights turned on and turned off all advance features on car because of a faulty fuel injector which is the stock fuel injectors that were designed by Honda.

7 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/08/2025

While trying to accelerate the car loses power. This has happened many times. The Honda dealership has said the system is on back order and they will call me when it’s available. It’s been months. The “jerks”a few times then the check engine light comes on then the car loses power. The dashboard lights are brake system, emission system, electric power steering, hill assist and acc system problem.

8 Other Fuel System problem of the 2022 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/08/2025

Vehicle displayed numerous warning lights and messages like emission system problem and other messages on the cluster gauge. Traveling on the interstate, the vehicle would not accelerate or maintain proper speed. Turned on the emergency flashers to warn other drivers to avoid an accident. Brought it to the dealership and found code p0087 fuel rail pressure too low and informed me that the low pressure fuel pump is bad and needs to be replaced. The vehicle is out of warranty as it has ~85k miles.

9 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/07/2025

Date of incident: [xxx] vehicle information: 2018 Honda Accord VIN: [xxx] incident location: north charleston, SC estimated vehicle mileage at incident: 78,000 miles on [xxx], while starting and driving my vehicle less than one mile, the engine would not accelerate above 10 mph. Following this, multiple service alerts illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed to hendrick Honda of charleston. The diagnosed issue is a leaking cylinder head gasket. This is the second major engine-related issue this year. In may 2025, I paid over $2,000 to repair a faulty fuel sensor injector. This current repair is estimated to cost over $5,000, bringing my total repair costs for this year to over $7,000 for a five-year-old vehicle with just 78,000 miles. This recurring pattern of significant and costly engine failures, particularly the cylinder head gasket leak, indicates a serious safety defect. It is not an isolated incident, as evidenced by publicly filed NHTSA complaints (11677717) for the same make, model, and year with similar engine failure issues at comparable mileage. The sudden loss of acceleration and inoperability pose a direct safety hazard. I am requesting an investigation into this defect and seeking full reimbursement for the recent and past repairs, totaling over $7,000. These are clearly not standard wear-and-tear issues and should be addressed by the manufacturer. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

10 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/31/2025

Car stalled/went into limp mode in the middle of turning onto a busy road almost hit by oncoming traffic. Check engine light came on, as well as all other warnings. Ran diagnostics and show fuel running lean and cyl 2 misfire. Checked all other possible issues related to codes and all signs point to bad fuel injectors.

11 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/29/2025

I was contacted by royal Honda (Honda of harvey, louisiana) about an urgent fuel pump recall on my vehicle. Harris first through text then receive the phone callinstead of scheduling the recall repair, the dealership used the recall notice as leverage to push a $19. 95 oil change special. The representative told me they could “set me up for the oil if I scheduled the recall,” but their focus was on selling the oil change, not correcting the urgent safety recall. When I declined the oil change, they said they were having “technical difficulties,” promised to call me back, and never did. As a result, my recall remains unresolved. This is a misuse of federally mandated recall notices for sales purposes, and it delays urgent safety repairs. Requested action: investigate Honda of harvey / royal Honda for using recall notifications as a sales tactic and ensure my recall is completed promptly.

12 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/26/2025

Advanced driver assistance systems (adas) this has been ongoing since I had the car and have taken to dear ship several times and they say it to happen, so they get the messages and the messages are there. I look it on google and there have several complaints about this issue and I have Honda and they are very rude about it, I have even call here and the young pay no mine what soever told me to call Honda I need mt=y problem resolve please, I am scared to drive my out state , I am [xxx] and live in north carolina and these people cannot drive. I have pictures which I sent as attachments. Somebody please help me. My payments' are 655. 00 a month and need to fill safe driving this vehicle information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

13 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/25/2025

This vehicle has the same 3. 5 litre v-6 that is being recalled engine failures, and stalling in the Honda ridgeline, passport and acuras. Why arent the Honda Accords included? since 2020, this car stops moving forward, and attempts to stall after a complete stop in traffic. I have to feather the gas pedal to reingage the engine, and get the car out of danger. It is an ongoing situation. I am the only driver of the car, and would never letanyone else drive it, due to this. I happens very regularly.

15 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/15/2025

Although my VIN currently shows no open recalls (because the fuel pump recall was previously marked completed), the replacement part failed while driving in traffic, leaving me stranded. This vehicle previously had the low-pressure fuel pump replaced under the Honda recall campaign. On August 15, 2025, the replacement fuel pump failed again while driving in rush hour traffic in north dallas, causing the vehicle to stall in a live lane and creating a major safety hazard. I attempted dozens of restarts without success. The vehicle was towed to coit auto center ($80), where they performed a diagnostic test confirming low-pressure fuel pump failure codes — the same component that was recalled. On August 16, 2025, the vehicle was then towed ($223) to john eagle Honda in dallas (the original selling dealer and recall repairer). Honda and the dealership stated the repeat failure was not warrantable because the recall repair had already been performed once. This is unacceptable. A recall remedy that fails is still a recall compliance issue, not a customer-pay repair. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Honda’s handling of repeat recall failures. The vehicle requires replacement of the defective pump and coverage of labor costs, as well as a full diagnostic inspection (starter, alternator, battery, ignition, ecu, and electronics) to ensure it is safe for road use after the stall and restart attempts.

16 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/11/2025

At approximately [xxx]. Pacific, I was traveling southbound in the fastrak lane of the [xxx] departing from pleasant hill, California headed to pleasanton, California. As I began to accelerate, the engine began to sputter. Immediately, the check engine light flashed on, then the dashboard reported a number of issues ranging from brake failure, tpms failure, power assisted steering failure, vehicle stability assist failure and a number of other issues that I have never encountered since purchasing the vehicle. The sudden deceleration almost resulted in other cars impacting my car as this occurred during the morning commute. I was able to safely navigate off of the freeway. I was on speakerphone with Honda when this occurred. Had I not acted swiftly, a potential high speed rear end collision was likely to have occurred. I immediately took the car to concord Honda. The team at concord Honda performed a diagnosis and advised me that my head gasket was leaking water into the combustion chamber which resulted in the sudden loss of power. I was and continue to be dissatisfied with the handling of this issue by Honda as my car has never been handled by another mechanic. My car has a perfect or near perfect maintenance record and should not have a blown head gasket at 80k miles especially since my car is meticulously maintained and serviced by concord Honda. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

17 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/05/2025

This car came with problem and I want to this if Honda can fix it for free since its they mistake.

18 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

My 2018 Honda Accord is having major engine problems. Earlier this year all of the lights were coming on, 7 of them at a time, and that happened for a few weeks before it started overheating. If I was driving over 50mph, it wouldn't overheat, but if I was driving slow or idling, it was overheating within minutes. I took it to the shop in June where they discovered there was no coolant inside the engine. They put 1. 5 gallons of coolant in there, and it fixed the problem temporarily, but 2 weeks ago, all of the lights started coming on again. I called my mechanic, and he said his friend had a 2018 Honda Accord that was doing the same thing and that we need to approach Honda and ask them to fix the problem. Turns out a lot of other people on the internet are reporting the exact same problem in their 2018 Honda Accords too, and there's even a class action floating somewhere out there because coolant is leaking into the chambers. We already had a fuel injector recall replaced by Honda last year.

19 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/31/2025

I currently own a 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5l 4 cylinder with only 62,800 miles at the start of the issue. Around the end of July 2025 the car started to jerk. It started with a slight jerk and escalated daily, over about a week, until the car started going into limp mode. The car was taken to a repair shop near my house. This shop said they were receiving an engine misfire code, replaced all spark plugs, and car driving good again. Around 8/15/2025, I started having the same issues. On 8/19/25 the car went into limp mode again in a busy highway. Took it to a Honda/Acura repair shop. They again found the same misfire codes, replaced 1 spark plug, and the car was driving okay. This Honda/Acura shop found low coolant in the engine and believed I had a leaking head gasket as they have been seeing a high number of Honda 1. 5l engines, similar years, with this issue. The shop suggested I contact Honda as it is a known issue. On 8/19, the Honda dealer service department told me they are seeing a lot of that issue but Honda has no current plan to extend warranties or issue a recall, despite the widespread, known issue. The dealership’s service department instructed me to call Honda corporate to discuss the issue and potential coverage. Corporate did open a case for a potential good faith repair. I was told that I would have to take it to a Honda dealership for official diagnostics, pay that fee out of pocket, then submit documents and info for coverage review. The car was driving okay for about 1 week and on 8/27/25, began having the same problems. I was able to get an appointment on 9/2/25 at the dealership. On 9/2/25, the dealership confirmed the head gasket is bad and the car requires head gasket, head bolt, belts, fuel injector, and coolant replacement, and oil change. The dealership again acknowledged this is a known issue with the vehicle. These vehicles are stopping on busy highways (with speed limit of 50mph) and interstates or going into limp mode, not going over 20mph.

20 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/28/2025

The fuel pump had to be recalled and caused the fuel injectors to start failing.

21 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/24/2025

Honda has known for years that the 1. 5l engines installed in 2018 or newer Honda Accords have issues with oil dilution causing major catastrophic engine failures, head gasket damage, fluids leaking into the cylinders, and costly repairs to cars with less than 86000 miles on them. Honda corporation needs to address this concern before someone dies when the cars engine fails on the highway. My vehicles engine failed on a major road when I pushed on the gas peddle and had no power due to these concerns. Dealership stated numerous vehicles are coming in with these concerns right now which begs the question that it is not a one off situation but a failure of Honda corporation.

22 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/19/2025

Malfunctioning fuel injectors causing misfires stem from a known issue with faulty fuel injectors; a problem widely reported across multiple Honda models equipped with the 1. 5-liter turbocharged direct injection engine. Notably, the Honda cr-v (2019–2023), civic (2019–2022), and Accord (2018–2022) have all been consistently linked to fuel injector failures. The most serious safety concern associated with this defect is the potential for sudden throttle changes, which can trigger the check engine light, cause the engine to lose drive power, hesitate, or even stall—all of which significantly increase the risk of a crash or injury.

23 Other Fuel System problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/16/2025

The vehicle displayed engine warning message “emission system problem” at 70,000 miles and this appears to be present in many vehicles of this edition.

24 Other Fuel System problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/15/2025

When the fuel tank was at 1/4 full/empty, the car started stalling on the highway. We were able to go to a gas station and filled the gas tank. The problem was gone. We went to our mechanic but he could not find the problem. A few day's later the gas tank was 1/2 full/empty and the same problem happened. We filled it up and the problem was gone. We went back to our shop and the mechanic did a diag but didn't find any fault codes. He advised to go to the Honda dealer to take a look at it.

25 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/14/2025

The engine coolant began to leak into the cylinders of the engine. The engine began to overheat in the middle of the freeway. I had to shutdown the car down and get it towed. The car is available for inspection. Yes, my safety was at risk. Diagnostics from the dealership indicated that the problem is a design flaw with the head gasket being too thin. There were no indications that the car was going to stall until after it stalled. Honda is putting our lives at risk by allowing citizens to drive a car that has an engine become locked/stall/overheat by design and without warning.

26 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/11/2025

Head gasket blown.

27 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

July 10th Honda went into limp mode as I accelerated would not drive over 20. Check engine light flashed on then off. Have taken car in several times no codes can be read. Believe it’s cylinder issues or fuel possible head gasket. All vehicle lights has displayed haven’t been able to get reads once car is turned off. Too many issues with no repair fix.

28 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/10/2025

- year: 2018 - make: Honda - model: Accord sport 1. 5 turbo - vehicle identification number : 1hgcv1f34ja089316 I am writing to report a safety concern with my 2018 Honda Accord sport 1. 5 turbo. The vehicle has developed a head gasket problem, which has resulted in significant engine issues. Additionally, I have experienced fuel injector problems, leading to decreased fuel efficiency and rough engine performance. Despite following the recommended maintenance schedule and addressing the issues with the dealer, the problems persist. I have been quoted $7,800 for repairs, which is unacceptable given the vehicle's age and mileage (currently 114,848 miles). I am concerned about the safety and reliability of the vehicle, especially when driving on the highway. The vehicle's blown head gasket has caused ¹: - loss of power, leading to potential safety issues on the road - engine hesitation and shutdown while driving, which can increase the risk of accidents I request that NHTSA investigate this matter further and take necessary actions to address the recurring issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5 turbo engine. I would appreciate guidance on potential next steps to resolve this issue and ensure the vehicle's safety and reliability. - repair estimates and records from the dealer - maintenance records, including oil changes and fuel system cleanings - correspondence with Honda dealership and corporate office other owners have reported similar issues with the 2018 Honda Accord 1. 5 turbo, including fuel injector problems and blown head gaskets ² ³ ?. Please help us. Investigate this issue and help us the consumers.

29 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/09/2025

I never was informed about the fuel pump recall , all the lights on my car came on , acceleration was slower , car was jerking , and when taking it to Honda they stated 2 of my cylinders has a misfire and water or coolant leaked and blew my head gasket , the car never ran hot and the guy asked did any light come on and I told him for some old reason every light on the dash was on and the car is vibrating while even in park reverse and when it's moving . I've read up on this and there are numerous of people with this same issue and this should mean something , Honda stated it would cost 6000 to fix when they should have already been warning people of the matter ahead of time . For some odd reason the car would just drive 10mph when I am driving jumping out in traffic having to pull over and restart the car . Guy at Honda even stated fuel pump could have been the issue and they have witness this with other cars like mine.

30 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

All lights on dash are on at the same time.

31 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

While attempting to pass a slower vehicle in my 2018 Honda Accord with a 1. 5l engine, the suddenly lost power and stalled down to 20 mph while I was alongside the other vehicle. This unexpected power loss put my life and the lives of others at serious life threatening risk. I immediately brought the care to a Honda dealership, where the tech was able to reproduce the issue. The performed a borescope inspection and confirmed that coolant was present inside one of the cylinders, indicating a failed cylinder head gasket. This type of failure should not happen, especially on a vehicle like this. I was the repair would cost $6,500. After researching, I learned that this is a known defect affecting the 1. 5l engine and that multiple class action lawsuits have been filed. I also discovered that american Honda is aware of the problem and has instructed dealership service departments to report affected vehicles. In fact, they have even offered gift cards to service advisors who report these cases, but are charging customers for the repairs. That's nonsense. Just do a simple google search and you will discover what I did. During the failure, the check engine light and several other warning lights came on but only the check engine remained on. Since then the car has multiple indicator lights on. Despite multiple attempts to follow-up, the dealership has refused to return my calls. This is a serious life threatening safety concern that deserves immediate investigation. Thank you. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

32 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

Vehicle had a sudden loss of power. Pulled over on highway had to restart. Engine warning said emission system problem. Had diagnostic done several codes po300,po301,po302,po303,po304,po172. Problem seems to be similar to the service bulletin 22-002 dated Feb 18,22 for the Honda Accord 2015-2016. It seems to be a known issue with this engine. Honda should take care of this safety issue.

33 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

I own a 2018 Honda Accord sport. About 2–3 months ago, the car began having repeated engine misfires (p0301), hesitation, and stalling while driving. At the same time, multiple dashboard warnings appear, including steering assist reduced, brake system problem, collision mitigation braking system problem, adaptive cruise control system problem, emission system problem, and hill start assist problem, these failures occur suddenly while the vehicle is in motion, creating a serious risk of loss of engine power, reduced braking performance, loss of steering assist, and disabled crash-avoidance systems. I have already performed extensive maintenance: new ignition coils, a full tune-up, compression test, spark test, and battery/alternator check, yet the issues remain. Diagnostic scans also showed u0416-68 (invalid data from abs/vsa module) in addition to the misfire. This suggests not only a fuel/propulsion defect but also a possible computer/control module failure that links engine, brakes, steering, and adas systems. These conditions match known recalls for the Accord, including 23v858000 (fuel pump failure), 20v314000 (low-pressure fuel pump), and 20v771000 (bcm software issue), yet my VIN does not currently show as included. The fact that multiple critical safety systems fail simultaneously makes this a major safety hazard that could easily lead to an accident if the car stalls, loses braking, or loses steering assist in traffic. I opened a case with Honda customer service (case #15868389), but they refused to cover the repair since my VIN is not listed, despite the failures being identical to those described in the recalls. I strongly believe my vehicle should be included, and I request that NHTSA investigate whether the recall VIN range needs to be expanded.

34 Other Fuel System problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/01/2025

On three different occasions earlier this year 2025, my car electric system would completely shut down. My safety was put at risk because this would often happen while I was driving. After three different diagnoses at two different dealerships, the san francisco dealership found that there was a fuse shortage and it was an electrical problem. They were able to fix it and I paid out of pocket. Now, in July 2025, I was again on the road driving when I get an error message on the dash: emission system, problem, and cooling system problem. I was not able to accelerate my car. Again my safety was at risk. I had to stop on the street, turned off my car, and when I tried turning it back on, the engine would not start, but the electric system was fine. My car is a 2017 hybrid Honda Accord – it is way too new to be having all of these issues. I always take my car for maintenance regularly and my car is in good condition.

35 Other Fuel System problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/27/2025

I took vehicle in because of all the sensors were going off. Honda ran a systems check and said fuel injectors needed to be replaced. It is all over the internet that this is a known issue and a recall was not issued. I spent $1500 on the replacement. These should not need replacing on an 18 Accord with 80,000 miles. The recall on the fuel pump has not been addressed because Honda has limited parts. How do I know this did not affect the fuel injectors.
