My vehicle dashboard was lit up like a christmas tree with over $3. 1k in repairs only for it to be the fuel pump!.

Fuel pump failed, car stalled and was unresponsive.
2018 Honda Accord 1. 5t ex trim and I had a head gasket completely blown at around 82,600 miles. I, alongside with many many other 1. 5t Accord owners, am experiencing this head gasket issue for such a low milage vehicle and it is simply inacceptable and Honda seems to be entirely ignoring this widespread, recurring problem on this engine. Reaching out and file a report in hopes of getting this to Honda's attention so they can address this ASAP. It has been 7 years since this problem and nothing has changed, which is not okay.

While accelerating uphill approximately 65 mph the car suddenly started to shutter and slow down to 35 mph. I forced me to move rapidly over to the right lane on a busy highway almost getting hit by a semi truck. Luckily I was able move to the shoulder and park the vehicle. I shut the vehicle off and tried to start it back up which it did but struggled to turn over. Using my obdii scanner I found that multiple codes had appeared which included p0087 fuel rail/system pressure to low and p0299 turbocharger underboost. Vehicle was towed to my residence where it currently sits until I am able to repair it. Prior to this happening there were no warning lamps or messages or symptoms. The failures first appeared while driving up hill. It was not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. The problem was not taken to dealer or independent service center to confirm since the car is out of warranty and cost to diagnose is ridiculously high. I myself diagnosed the failures and found that the mechanical fuel pump part# 16790-5pc-h02 seized up and was not providing enough fuel to engine. And diagnosed that the waste gate actuator arm was to loose due to worn out bushings. (poor engineering in my opinion since there is no way to replace just the bushings on the actuator causing customers to replace the entire turbo. ) after replacing the mechanical fuel pump the vehicle was able to start up without issue and drives perfectly fine. I currently still have the fuel pump and the turbo is still in the vehicle if needed for inspection.
All lights in dash is on took it to Honda they playing a guessing game injectors head gasket sensors they really don’t know many people are complaining with the same problems.
While driving my 2017 Honda Accord, I suddenly lost the ability to accelerate when pressing the gas pedal entering the freeway. At the same time, the check engine light flashed along with multiple other warning lights, which caused the car to go into limp mode. This put my safety at risk, as I was unable to speed up in traffic, creating a dangerous situation. Same situation occurred the next day - narrowly avoiding the accident. The car is not safe to drive. Honda dealership determined issue was due to a fuel injector failure, on a very well-maintained vehicle it seems strange for this issue to come up. I believe this issue is directly related to the faulty fuel pump which is being recalled for many 2017-2018 Accords as the defective fuel pump caused excessive strain on the fuel injectors over time, it could explain why so many owners, including myself, are experiencing premature failures. Given the safety risks involved and the growing number of similar reports, I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue and hold Honda accountable for addressing the problem and cover the cost of the injection repairs.

On several occasions, as I’ve traveled down the interstate, getting off of an exit the car engine completely shuts off and dies before coming to a complete stop.

Frequently, my vehicle experiences a misfire, particularly at highway speeds. The check engine light has turned on and flashed, indicating an engine misfire. The vehicle does not immediately respond when the throttle is engaged, presenting a safety hazard while the vehicle is moving. All spark plugs and coils have been replaced and the problem persists. Other trims and similar models exhibit a fuel pump failure and have been recalled due to a manufacturer defect. I am asking for my model (2017 Honda Accord ex-l, fwd) to be included in the recall and for my fuel pump and affected systems to be replaced.
Car is giving a p0301 error. Replaced coils and spark plugs still giving error. The problem is fuel inejectors. Gives car a rough idle at start up.

Vehicle shakes roughly and vibrations on this 2024 Honda Accord hybrid when transitioning from electric to gas motor at idle. This occurs sporadically but generally when idling in traffic or a drive thru etc. The electric motor is working in this idle stage, but when the heater or ac is on and you are idling for a period of time, it will kick on the gas motor causing shaking of the vehicle. This occurs mainly when the gas motor is kicking on from idle and sometimes when it shuts itself back off again. This problem was reported to selling dealer smail Honda at a service appointment on 6/9/25. Tech did not find the problem and left these notes: "scanned computer for faults and none present. Vehicle operating as designed. " in my opinion, the vehicle is not operating as designed and this could be a possible safety issue so I'm filing this incident with NHTSA.

Unknown I received the notice that there was an active recall on my 2018 Honda about the 1. 5 fuel pump. I have scheduled several appointments to fix this, only for Honda to cancel all appointments related to the recall, stating they didn't have the part. I was headed to work, and every light on the dashboard that could come up, came up. There were several warning lights from brakes, transmission, collision, engine, etc. I took the car to the dealership, and they discovered that the fuel injector was the culprit. I am outraged because they're denying there's a connection, and I believe otherwise.
Hello, the fuel pump which is recalled on my vehicle failed and was replaced with an aftermarket pump so I could take it to the dealership. Once I took it the dealership refused to go ahead with the recall and basically told me it’s not their problem. They are required to get it done for customers but they refused to fix mine.
Various 2018-2022 Honda Accord owners had fuel injector failures caused by the faulty factory fuel pump molding. The fuel pump has been recalled; however, not before the fuel injectors fail. My Accord recently got an array of warning lights pop up on the dash while driving on the highway. I read the code and it was a cylinder 3 misfire. A diagnosis has led to the discovery that the fuel injectors are failing, most likely because of the bad fuel pump molding affecting the pressure of the fuel lines. Not only could this have led to my car stalling on the highway, it led to a complete disabling of my safety features while driving. Honda should be held responsible for the fuel injectors failing caused directly by their fuel pump molding deviation.
Emission system control error please see your dealer do not accelerate at high speeds, acc control, module error, brake system failure, error, lane control, assistance, failure, numerous lights illuminate on dashboard 7 to 10 error codes all at once. Vehicle was taken to diagnosed and found turbo charger for engine acceleration was faulty, spark plugs changed, 4 coils and cam shift sensors2 total. Over $3000 later, the vehicle is still doing the same mention above, including when stopped and acceleration at slow or high speeds vehicle jerks. Only 158,000 miles on a 2019 all fluids have been serviced and changed on time with no leaks.
On 5/8/25 when the light turned green at the stop light, my car shut down while the gear was on drive. It immediately came back on with the dashboard showing warnings for the (tpms), brakes system, stability system, among others. I accelerated while on drive but the car did not move forward. I turned the flashers on. I had cars behind me honking and going around me. I put the shifter in park. A car behind almost rear ended me. I tried a second time to go by shifting the gear to drive but I had no luck. I put it back in park and turned it off. I turned it back on and the dashboard seemed fine, the car accelerated when I shifted it to drive. This is the second time that the same car shut down on me, the first time was over a year ago when the car was in motion at around 40 mph, I was able to pull over. The first time the dealer replaced a part and told me the problem was fixed. This time around the advisor said there's nothing they can do because they can't replicate the problem. It's very concerning because it can happen at any time anywhere at any speed.

On March 4, I took my car in for the high pressure fuel pump recall and was under the impression that it was replaced. On may 7 my car caught on fire two minutes after exiting the vehicle. It was confirmed by a fire inspector that it was the high-pressure fuel pump that caused the fire. There was no warning lights or anything to give warning that the vehicle was malfunctioning. I feel I was put at risk because if I would have had to stop at a stoplight, the car would’ve caught on fire with me in it. I also drive my grandchildren around with me a lot of the time, but on this date, I had no children with me. Honda has not responded or assigned a case manager to the incident and it’s been two weeks.
Woke up and started my car, all the lights were on including engine light. No adapter cruise, steering light was on. Screen also was saying avoid speeding. Every notification was telling me go to the dealer ship. I took it howdy Honda in texas and they said we will need to do a diagnostic and it was for 255 for to see what the problem was. They looked and said I had code for po172(rich) and misfire on p0301 told me I need to replace fuel injectors. Which cost 1933$. Which is way too much and fuel injectors a labor should be covered under federal emissions warranty but they said no. So I am filing a recall for fuel injectors for my 2022 Honda Accord sports se. I am unable to drive because it’s in limp mode. I also have documentation from howdy for quote.

If car is idling for over 1 minute, all lights on dash come on. When all lights on, car wont wont go over mph, car will randomly sputter in highway when going over 1rpm and will stall randomly. Reported on reddit by multiple people and when I went in to get it diagnosed it was the fuel injector issue.
This car had a manufacturer recall for the "fuel pump". I was advised by Honda to go get the car checked by the dealer to evaluate if the issues I was getting were related to the recall. I paid close to $400 to get the car diagnosed and about 3/4 months after that I was told that the part is available for the recall service. I got the repair scheduled at the dealership and got the part replaced. Ever since I got this fuel pump replaced, now the car is struggling to pickup. It looks like a miss fire but it doesn't show any errors on display. In this condition, this car is not safe to drive around as it is skipping the engine thrusts. I have looked at Honda website and other online resources and people are talking about these issues but Honda hasn't said or done anything about it. It all started after I got the fuel filter replaced.
The high pressure fuel pump is failing. Had a diagnostic ran with the help of autozone technicians. Advised to replace it. Looked up recalls for my vehicle and found the same issue. I was driving the vehicle home from work when the vehicle was struggling to move. It is available for inspection. No lights on prior to the fuel pump failure. These lights came on after the incident: check engine light, steering wheel with the exclamation mark, traction control, and the tire pressure light blinks then remains on.

My vehicle is experiencing engine hesitation and it's getting worse every day I drive my car. This is a known side effect of the Honda safety recall notice I originally received in February of 2024. I received initial notification of a safety recall for my Honda vehicle in February of 2024 and it stated the safety issues of a possible faulty fuel pump modular. The letter expressed that they have no available parts but were working on getting them. I then received a 2nd letter regarding the fuel pump in may of 2024 and that parts were limited so they were focusing on customers who were experiencing side effect/safety issues with their car. I then received a 3rd letter in November of 2024 stating parts were ready and I just needed to contact my local Honda dealership to have my fuel pump modular replaced free of charge. I have called my dealership on at least two different occasions and have also taken my car in to Honda since then for general maintenance (oil change) and I keep being told they do not have the parts. The last time I spoke with them, I keep getting told that they do not have the parts. I am also always told they will probably call me in a couple weeks when they have the part but I never received that phone call from them. I can never seem to get a straight answer from them and am always told another excuse as to why my car and my family's safety is not important enough for them. I've even been told some of those replacement fuel pumps are needed for their newer cars.
All lights on dash illuminated. They have come on several times. While driving. You don’t know if brakes, engine, acceleration will work. Limp mode activates or not. Fuel injector seems to be a problem with misfiring or some other issue.
We were sitting at a red light and when accelerating once green a warning appeared on the dash stating the evap system was failing and to see dealer. Then more warning appeared stating the following systems were failing, abs, tpms, cruise control, driver assist, electronic power steering. Basically all electronic systems were failing. The car would not accelerate properly. The car would not go over 2500 rpms making acceleration nearly impossible and the car would lose speed when traveling up a hill. We managed to make it to a school parking lot to safely pull off the road. The car had to be towed to a local mechanic. This all happened with zero warning.
Apparently the coolant is leaking into chamber 2 and 3 and it’s burning it and I need to replace the head gasket. Spoke to and looked up a bunch of other people have had this same issue. It’s causing my car to stutter and it’s scary.
Mechanic said there was a fault in the hi pressure fuel injectors that’s causing the engine to run rich.
About a week ago my all my dash lights came on dash. Doing some research I found there was a safety recall on my vehicle that I did not know about. I scheduled an appointment with Honda to get it replaced, they informed me that the fuel injectors needed to replaced and were causing misfires. They claim this is not directly correlated to the recall but I believe that it is.
Detailed statement of defect and manufacturer’s acknowledgment – Honda fuel pump recall (2017–2020 Acura and Honda models) overview of recall: on December 21, 2023, american Honda motor CO. , inc. Publicly announced a voluntary safety recall affecting approximately 2. 6 million Acura and Honda vehicles in the united states from model years 2017 through 2020. This large-scale recall concerns a critical defect in the fuel pump system that has the potential to cause engine stalling while the vehicle is in motion, posing a serious safety risk. Technical description of the defect: the issue stems from an improperly molded fuel pump impeller—a component responsible for fuel delivery within the pump. The molding defect results in the production of low-density impellers that are prone to deformation. Over time, these impellers can degrade and interfere with the fuel pump body, ultimately rendering the fuel pump inoperative. Should the fuel pump module fail during vehicle operation, the engine may not start or could stall without warning, which significantly increases the risk of a crash or injury due to the sudden loss of engine power, particularly at high speeds or in heavy traffic conditions. Manufacturer’s response and limitations: Honda has stated that it will replace the affected fuel pump modules free of charge, and claims that no crashes or injuries have been reported at the time of the announcement. However, it is critical to note: •countermeasure replacement parts are currently unavailable in sufficient quantities to address all recalled vehicles simultaneously. •Honda plans to notify vehicle owners in stages, with initial notifications to begin in early February 2024, followed by additional notices as parts become available. •this delay in availability and communication may expose vehicle owners to ongoing safety risks without immediate remedy. Legal and consumer impact considerations: while Honda has initiated recall efforts, the scope and severity o.

12/22/I was accelerating onto the highway when multiple error messages popped up on the screen related to brakes, emission system, power steering, and others. The car’s accelerator lost power and slowed to a stop on the side of the highway. The interior electronics didn’t lose power, and neither did power steering or power brakes to my knowledge. I restarted the car and the warning lights remained on, however the accelerator appeared to function normally. Honda was unable to diagnose or fix. 3/31/I was pulling out of a parking deck when the engine lost power (no throttle) at the same time that multiple error messages came on to the screen. I coasted into a parking spot (brakes appeared to work) and turned the car off. I turned it back on and all of the lights had turned off except a warning about the brakes and tpms (I think). The engine appeared to work normally, and I immediately drove to the southpoint Honda service center. 4/8/recap from Honda: your car had a couple issues, they're all related. The first thing you're complaining about the stalling condition that is a known issue. There's a software update that fixes that. So I got it in here to do the software update, but then I could not communicate to the vehicle. The can gateway module was unresponsive, which the car will run fine without it. But then, I can't talk to the car. So after testing everything and finding the module to have failed, I replaced the can gateway this morning. Everything's communicating fine and software is updating right now for the module. Then I'm going to update the pgmfi software for the icm system to correct the communication loss within the network that causes the stalling issue. So those two issues will be corrected.
I got a recall notice for my car for fuel pump which I got it fixed but now the dealership is saying I got fuel injector issues with head gasket issues. I have also read online that lot of people are having exactly this problem, their fuel pump injectors are also failing with head gasket on the 2018 Honda Accord and Honda is requesting $2000 in fixes.
High pressure fuel pump yes almost caused an accident vehicle was inspection and replaced no warning at all just lost power and all lights came on the dash. I was traveling in left lane down the highway lost power had to cross 3 lanes to get right side of shoulder. I shut off the car when I stop on the shoulder . I inspected the car for sign of low oil or coolant I didn't see any reason I lost power without any notice . I started the car again on the shoulder and I could only drive 17miles per hour and couldn't go over 2000rpms or the car would spudder and jerk.
Cylinder 1 and cylinder 3 misfire (cylinder 3 misfired multiple times, even after attempts to fix it), and now I have a blown head gasket. On more than three separate occasions, my car has either stopped completely in the middle of the road—sometimes on the highway in the fast lane, with cars traveling 80+ mph behind me, putting my life at significant risk—or it will suddenly drop from the speed of traffic (80+ mph) to under 30 mph in a matter of seconds, out of nowhere. If it weren't for me swerving into an open lane to the right one time, I would have undoubtedly been rear-ended by a car traveling 80 mph. In that instance, my speed went from 0 mph to less than 30 mph in just seconds, which could have easily paralyzed me or even killed me had I hit my head on impact. Though I didn’t sustain a physical injury the first time this happened on the freeway, I did suffer a panic attack due to the sudden and extreme danger of the situation. Yes, the problem has been confirmed by two separate Honda dealerships at different times, but both were caused by the same issue. The vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer, as I had it checked at two different Honda dealerships. No, there were no warning messages or symptoms prior to the failure; all issues occurred suddenly while driving, when my car barely started producing any power on the freeway.

It’s not letting me full the car up with gas and it’s stalling like the car not having a good gas flow.
