My car has been to Honda twice for the same problem. The first incident was June 20th at 5pm at whole foods in phoenix. The car would turn over then die. The next morning I took it to Honda (it started and drove). I picked it up at 5pm, they stated they could find nothing wrong with the car. As I'm sitting in the car at Honda the car died and wouldn't start. The next day they told me it was the starter and replaced it and I picked up the car Friday June 23rd. The car was fine until Sunday around 3pm at safeway on phoenix where the car would start and then die. I took an uber home and scheduled a tow. When I got back to safeway the car started and I drove it home. Monday morning June 26 I took it to my local mechanic who diagnosed the fuel pump to be bad after two days. I towed it back to Honda on June 28th to have the fuel pump changed under warranty. They had to order the part and I did not get my car back until July 8th. On my way to work Tuesday July 11th the car died while on the freeway interchange between i10w and i17n and was forced to the side of the rode (there's barely a shoulder) and wait for a tow as the car would no start. I was towed to showcase Honda where the car is now. This last incident was more than just an inconvenience it was completely unsafe. This is the third time they have had the car and I have almost no confidence they are capable of figuring out what is wrong with this car (that's under warranty) and I honestly don't feel safe driving that car any longer.

The contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. While driving 30 mph, the fuel pump fractured and caused fuel to leak onto the ground. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 164,000.

Low miles 2 year old Honda Accord randomly went up in flames after being parked for 30mins at the doctors office. Looks to be a hp fuel pump design problem. This pump was replaced by the dealer under warranty. Thankfully it wasn't parked in my garage.
I bought this 1998 Honda Accord and I want to know why my car VIN number is not in the recalls for this no warning cutting off while driving and its very dangerous to drive it and sometimes it takes a long time to start up and then continue to cut off I have replaced fuel pump distributor full tuneup and next my ignition coil which is a recall for my year Honda Accord and this cut off problem should be taken care of for my safety because I own this vehicle and would appreciate your support and concern of the recalls on my car please. When I first bought the car the next day I was on the freeway and the car just cut off and I didn't even know it was off until I realize I was slowing down and steering got hard and traffic was yelling at me from their vehicles and I was scared pulling over to the side of freeway. And as of today it does it more frequently and take longer to start back up than it did when I first got the car so I think it is unfair that my VIN number for this can't be taken care of under this unsafe recall that my car is included in onthis recall please help me understand why im not included and that's not ok.

Engine cranks but fails to start, or starts sluggishly with rough idle after a few seconds of cranking in cold weather. I believe this to be a fuel pump pressure problem.
Noted excessive smell of gasoline in and immediately outside the vehicle, and later determined gasoline mileage had dropped dramatically from 30+ mpg to 18 mpg. Upon securing the first available diagnostic check from my local mechanic it was determined there was "fuel leaking from the top area of fuel tank, but many items would have to be moved out of the way to lower the fuel tank to make a more specific location of the site and cause of the leak, which would be labor intensive and costly because the entire rear cradle would have to be removed with the danger that old rusting bolts would break and might not be able to be replaced. Possible items that might need to be replaced, include the fuel tank, fuel filler neck and fuel pump. ".

After diagnosis they advised her that the fuel pump was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. 1998 Honda Accord shuts off by itself while driving. Happens sporadically. Replaced fuel pump, fuel igniter, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, etc. Nothing fixed it. Now they say it might be the ignition switch. There was a recall for this in 2002 but my VIN doesn't come up as part of that recall so I have to pay to have it replaced. And that may not fix it either.
