Honda Accord owners have reported 13 problems related to vsa warning light on (under the electronic stability control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Honda Accord based on all problems reported for the Accord.
The check engine light and vehicle stability assist lights came on first while the car was stationary. The obd codes were scanned and the code p0341 was read. The camshaft position sensor was replaced and the lights turned off and the p0341 codes were cleared. The second time the lights came on the car was in motion. The obd codes were scanned again and the code p1009 was read meaning the vtc actuator is bad and needs to be replaced. This is a very common issue with all 2008-2012 Accords and there has been service bulletins issued regarding the problem. There has also been a class action lawsuit about the issue. If there is not already, there needs to be a recall issued.

While driving on the expressway 08-18-2020 3 lights appeared out of nowhere on the dashboard, the tpms, electronic power steering & vehicle stability assist warning lights. My child & I felt the vehicle swerve & I manage not to hit a cement wall or oncoming traffic, but instantaneously noticed my vehicle felt different. After just having a 21-pt inspection at john eagle houston & paying almost 1,000 for front & rear brake pads & other mechanical issues, surely I would've thought the dealership could've told me this or warned me it was going to fail. Anyways, after replacing all 4 tires, I thought this would eradicate the issue, but it didn't. I took it back to john eagle houston, only to be told that the yaw rite went out. I read up on this before heading to the dealership & during the 2 hour wait & According to carcomplaint. Com & NHTSA they're many 2014 Honda Accord owners who have experienced this same issue & have paid over $1,500+ to fix this & the worst part is the part is on backorder & won't be in for 2 months! so, you have faulty cars on the roads that can possibly injure people. Honda will have blood on their hands! this is clearly a safety recall, but I know not guess revenue is more imperative than human life! what will it take? preventive death? this can be prevented, there's still time. Everyone doesn't have the money & those who don't will just ride with their dashboard's lights lit like the month of December. This is horrible.

Couldn't get traction on light snow-covered road. Vsa light was flashing and my car wasn't responding to brake to vsa. I applied my brakes to slow down (to no avail). Now my car is out of control and proceeding down a slight incline to a stop sign. . . Picking up speed along the way. My brakes are "to the floor" the whole time as I slide through intersection I have my steering wheel turned right. The front passenger side ended up crashing into a street sign & telephone pole. I was told by police that a car that swerved to avoid me made contact with my rear fender and my car then spun right into the poles. Also, neither front air bags deployed upon impact.

3 dashboard lights appear illuminated on dashboard all at once while driving the car, these three lights that remain illuminated include 1) anti-lock brake system (abs) light, 2) vehicle stability control system (vsc) light, and 3) electric power steering light. Honda dealer told me that the abs modulator needs to be replaced and that my car was not under warranty anymore (3yrs or 36k miles). The quote I recieved to replace the abs modulator from the Honda dealership was $1,700. I decided to google abs modulator for Honda Accord to see if there were other Accord owners that have a similar issue. Upon search from youtube and Honda forums, I found there to be other owners that have the same problem with 3 lights illuminated (abs, vsc and electric power steering) and the repair cost if not under warranty can range from $1,300 to as high as $2,000 from what I saw other Honda Accord owners to report. I feel as though Honda is not taking responsibility to repair this outside of the warranty and feel as though they sold me a dysfunctional car. I feel compelled to write this complaint because my car value is 10k and to repair the abs modulator I would have to fork up nearly 20% of my cars value for an electrical issue that was perhaps faulty design on Hondas part. Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you investigate it further.
Recently my 2014 bonda Accord sport has been acting up the last week of April 2018 going out for lunch I was going to turn on car and I would not start sh!t starter problem I retried eventually car started up again but now with electronic steering ,abs, tpms, and stability control lights lit up at same time same day drove car to dealer have it checked out but 2 miles away from getting there the lights turned off just my luck so headead back home. Now on 5/22/2018 it happend againg this time while driving home it started with break pedal when applied it would pulse like when you slam brakes and you feel abs doing its job mind you I was in stop and go traffic when traffic cleared up the steering wheel started acting up thats when same lights on dash came up again (see pics) waiting till Tuesday to go get car checked out.
Had gotten back in my car after a stop at a retail store. When I turned the car on the tire pressure light was blinking, the electric power steering light was on, and the vehicle stability assist light was on. I pulled over at another store within a half mile. I got out and checked the tires for a possible flat - no problem. Turned car back on and same scenario with the 3 lights on. Only difference was the tire pressure light stopped flashing but stayed on continuously. I looked in car manual, page 6 of Honda technology reference guide, under the heading of malfunction indicators and it said, "if an indicator remains on, there may be a problem; see your dealer". I will call my car dealer in the morning. I want to state that I still had full control of my power steering. I read of others losing the power steering but mine was okay. After the second stop the 3 malfunctioning indicator lights went out.
I was driving my 2009 Accord on my snow covered street and the vehicle stability (vsa) light flashed on, as it should, when the vehicle loses traction. However, the light stayed on and the abs and brake lights both appeared as well and all 3 stayed lit. At first, I thought they would reset, but after a few days, they did not. The vsa and anti-lock brake functions were no longer working. My car was brought to a local dealership where they performed a diagnostic test and based on the computer codes, determined that the abs modulator needed to be replaced. The cost for this repair was over $1300! at that time, I decided not to complete the repair because I wanted to call american Honda to see if they could provide a discount for this very important and expensive safety component. After more than a week, they did finally offer a discount and the repair was completed for $800. My research has indicated that this part has had a history of problems in some Honda vehicles manufactured around 2009. The abs modulator should not have failed on my Honda Accord with such low mileage. I believe that it must have been a manufacturing defect with 2009 Honda vehicles.
Vsa light came on while driving. Pulled over to the curb and turned off the engine and consulted the owner's manual. Restarted the engine and had a great deal of difficulty getting the transmission out of park. Had the car serviced the following day.

Engine light and vsa warning light came on while driving on the freeway. Luckily my family reached our destination shortly after this occurred in fontana, CA. While the vehicle was in motion it would jerk and hesitate backwards while driving. I took it to rock Honda the following morning on 10/18/2013 in fontana, CA and they charged me 638. 60 stating the vehicle needed a pcm updated software and adjusted valves. In doing further research it seems I should have never been charged this as there is a recall id #74308 stating issues with the pcm and tcm and that Honda would update the control module software free of charge.
I have 2009 Honda Accord I purchased from bayridge Honda 23089 miles at 2011. Today 36700 miles. When I was driving brooklyn queens expressway two weeks ago vsa and engine light is on. And feeling engine is vibrating& uncontrolled brake distance, two weeks ago I visit my car dealer; there is vsa & engine light on when my car 36500 miles. Bayridge Honda service checked there is no mistake in the car. When I back my car engine light is off everything looking smooth. (charged 105. 00$)following weekend short trip connecticut- new haven (180 miles) and I returned as some problem engine is irregular working or stalling when is working. I called american Honda before serviced my car. Just suggest serviced your car. First vsa following engines light and uncontrolled loose brake condition is came when engine not take gas irregular. Engine vibration and shut off engine . My personal auto technician test driven car with me , he diagnosed some problem. Something is running wrongly . Please be advice this unsafely condition where complaint this situations . I will be International trip September 20 to October 1 out of USA ,car is parking not driving for unsafely condition. Sincerely.
My vehicle was in park. When I tried to put it in drive, it would not move. I inserted a key beside the gear shift to release the gear shift. My vsa light, along with the ! warning light came on. When I looked in my car manual, it instructed me to take it to the Honda dealership immediately. I took it to the Honda dealership and they called american Honda but could not figure out what was wrong with the car. The gear shift now locks at least once a day and is getting harder to release. It also makes a clicking noise. I went back to the Honda dealership and waited 3 1/2 hours for them correct the problem. They again called american Honda and their only recommendation is for me to pay $1200. 00 to buy a new part. The Honda dealership charged me $200. 00 for their time. I was sent away with no repair to my car. I called american Honda and explained that I am worried about my safety. The vsa light along with the ! warning light says in the manual "vsa systemmalfunction. Vehicle has normal driving ability, but does not have vsa traction and stability enhancement; see dealer as soon as possible". I have went through 3 sets of tires this year and I think it is because of this issue. Honda has already recalled the vsa in the 2005 Honda pilot. In their recall statement, "during a vsa system malfunction, the amount of brake force applied could exceed the driver's intended input. Unexpected brake activation could increase the risk of a crash. " I am very dissapointed that Honda is not concerned about my personal safety even though they know their is an issue with their vsa system. I am very concerned about my safety and the safety of the passengers that ride in my car.
