About a year ago, I was driving my car on the highway and it jerked and started smoking. At that same time, my forward collision warning came on. After doing a quick google search, I found I was not the only one with this issue. Honda dealership told me I needed a new vsa modulator that cost thousands of dollars. I finally was able to get it fixed, and now (today 5/11/25) less than a few months after getting a new vsa modulator, the same thing happened. This needs to be an official recall. It is a safety hazard.

Since the first winter after I purchased my vehicle in 2021, typically when cold, but not always, I lose all the Honda sensing (advanced driver assist features). The dashboard lights up with the following warnings . - collision mitigation braking system problem. See dealer - road departure mitigation system problem. See dealer - auto high beam problem. See dealer - adaptive cruise control system problem. See dealer - lane keep assist system problem. See dealer this failure of these safety systems can last anywhere from 5-60 minutes. Sometimes if you shut the vehicle off and turn it back on again, the warning will go away. On multiple cold mornings (below ~45°f), my 2021 Accord hybrid displays a cascade of safety system failure warnings upon startup. The dash shows errors for the collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, road departure mitigation, and more—all at once. When these systems are disabled, it severely compromises safety. This issue happens repeatedly in colder weather. The dealer has personally witnessed the issue in their service bay and acknowledged it's a known problem but had no fix, advising me to turn the car off and on again. This recurring failure of critical safety systems in cold conditions puts me, my passengers, and other road users at risk.

I purchased this 2018 Honda Accord that has had no major problems until the last 6 months. I purchased the car from gerald jones Honda and have had all repairs and maintenance done there with the exception of tire related concerns and occasional oul changes. All the issues I've experienced have been engine related and in the same area of the engine. Consistent leaks, repeated warning lights, and loss of speed. I have replaced fuel injectors, a head gasket, and a turbo in the last 6 months. Despite those repairs, I'm still experiencing leaks and flashing warning lights. Honda currently has my car due to warnings again. They have indicated it is a performance issue but can't locate the problem. Even suggested I continue to drive the car as they have been unable to duplicate what caused it. I told them to keep it because that makes no sense for me to drive it as it seems unsafe to do so and I could potentially make matters worse. I've spoken to several 2018 Accord owners who have experienced the same issues. This is very concerning to me and crippling my finances. Honda stands out for their reliability, but regrettably the 2018 1. 5l turbo doesn't stand up to Honda's reputation.

Forward collision warning system failure causing multiple light failures on dashboard.

Vsa abs fcw eps warning lights, According to Honda dealership it needs a vsa abs module, these are thousands of dollars and there’s thousands and thousands of pissed off customers. This should be warranted. It looks like Honda of europe did warranty it. I’m not sure what’s going on in Honda north America. It can cause the brake pedal to go soft, and is definitely a safety hazard.

Abs module failure. The mother board pins that connect are a poor design.

Cmbs not working properly. The car automatically brakes without any collision risk even on a clear road with no traffic and clear weather. Have a huge risk of someone crashing the car from the rear due to immediate braking. This issue has appeared several times.

Forward collision warning stopped working after a system upgrade on my 2019 Honda Accord hybrid. I activate the forward support and immediately it turns off. This is a safety issue. The system assist in breaking in time to maintain car distance and avoid a collision. Contacted Honda. I was told to take it to service at my cost.

Hi. All the warning lights came on one morning. Looking online many people are have the same issue.

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v763000 (fuel system, gasoline). The contact stated while driving approximately 25 mph to the dealer, the “collision braking system failure - contact dealer” was displayed on the mobile app. Additionally, a fuel warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that rodents had damaged the wiring. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had passed the recall inspection; however, the contact stated that the fuel warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,555. Parts distribution disconnect.

This malfunction creates a serious safety concern, as an unpredictable lkas system can lead to unintentional lane drifting or sudden corrective actions that may startle the driver or lead to a loss of control. Given that lkas is a key component of Honda's driver-assistance technology, I believe this issue warrants further investigation by NHTSA to determine whether it constitutes a broader defect in the 2017 Honda Accord hybrid model. Purchased the car in August 2024 from carvana, September the car shuts off at red light. Was told to replace the alternator. Shop replaced alternator but car still was cutting off while in parked or at complete stop. Was told to replace the battery, replaced the battery and months later car still shuts off. Had another mechanic look at it once hook up to scanner fcw light said failed system on odometer, maf code showed on scanner. Scared to continue driving vehicle because of safety reasons car is not safe. Can’t return it so I’m stuck trying to figure out what could be the problem. Was told it could be electrical problem or battery sensor issue.

Traction control/abs/brake lights turn on 122-11 vsa solenoid valve malfunction and 83-11 which causes pcm malfunction. This is a known problem with Honda vehicles and should be a recall. When this error occurs traction/abs/brake, ldw fcw are disabled. The fix for this is over $1000. 00.

I saw that they are investigating Honda pilots for an automatic braking issue. I wanted to report that on my car I’ve had the automatic brake warning come on at least 3 times while driving at highway speed with nothing in front of me. This is over a period of 3 years (my car has 40k). The brakes didnt engage, but it alerts you like it will engage for a couple seconds then the alert goes away. It could be related to the pilot issue. If the brakes did engage I would likely get rear ended on the highway. So far it hasnt happened but it is scary when it does. And totally random as each time no car within 2000ft.

My vehicle is stalling out. The engine failed. I was traveling and had to pull off the interstate and stop and restart vehicle. It was very dangerous as traffic was going at a high rate of speed. Yes the vehicle has been confirmed by a dealer. Yes all the warning lights are on in the vehicle.

Car stopped/hit the brakes on its own without anything in front of it. The collision detection warning went off while traveling at 25 mph, hit the brakes and stopped the car. I have a dashcam and can provide video proof of it.

To whom it may concern, I am submitting this complaint to report a serious vehicle safety issue involving a Honda vehicle that was under a lease agreement. From the start of the lease, the vehicle suffered from repeated malfunctions of its safety and proximity sensors. These issues were reported, and the vehicle was taken multiple times to an authorized Honda dealership. Despite these efforts, the problem was never resolved. I later discovered that the vehicle had an active safety recall that was never disclosed to me, even though the vehicle had been serviced at the dealership on several occasions. This failure to inform me of a recall represents a significant safety concern. Subsequently, the vehicle was involved in an accident that resulted in a total loss. I firmly believe that the unresolved sensor failures and the lack of recall disclosure played a role in this incident. I am submitting this report so that NHTSA may investigate this matter and determine whether there is a broader safety issue affecting other vehicles. Thank you for your attention. Excessive engine oil consumption 2-3 quarts between 5000 to 6000 oil changes. Abs module failure causing all safety feature not working.

Suddenly I get warnings of failure of adaptive cruise control, failure of braking, stearing and forward collision warning failure. It goes away if I drive my vehicle for few miles but then suddenly appears again. No one seems to know what is the issue. I tried to reset setting multiple times, checked system updates and checked battery etc, asked to check if there are any faulty codes but no one seem to know what is going on. It keeps happening every day.

The system failing and had problems. Had to take to Honda dealer. They had to replace the system camera.

Everytime I start my car in the cold I get all these warning messages on my dash, in this case it just let me choose 2 options but I also get auto idle stop problem, mitagation problem etc. I took it to the dealer they dont know what could be the proble. There are no recallas on this and people on forums are saying it can be a module. This is dangerous.

Code 123_11 for bad abs module. Lights that turn on within the dashboard are: front crash warning (fcw), lane departure warning (ldw), tpms, traction control, and electronic power steering. This issue is common within this generation of Accord and Honda needs to issue a recall.

Component vsa anti lock abs pump modulator 57110-t2f-a1 malfunction. Circuit board wiring inside of modulator has loose/dismantled wires causing complete failure of abs system for vehicle. This is a widely know problem amongst 9th generation Honda Accords and Honda has yet to issue a recall here in the united states.

My husband recently get this car with a loan. We been with the car for almost 3 months. Recently I was driving my daugthers to school on the highway. My car start acting up. My car start shaking like it was gonna turn off on 45 miles. After that happend I find out the it was a recall on my Honda Accord 2018 fuel pump. I went to a Honda dealer and until this time no one can help me.

When I was driving on the highway about to make the exit my car randomly did the automatic braking and it almost caused me an accident. My car had shown the braking light.

I was driving along the NJ turnpike at approximately 65 miles an hour when the brake warning light started flickering on and off and then the brakes engaged. It was quick, as if I had stepped hard on the pedal. No vehicle was in front of me, but I was driving through the express ez pass lane. Later that same day, it happened again, but this time it was only as if someone tapped on the brakes. The brake light flashed then too. To answer the above questions: what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the collision mitigation braking system, and yes it is how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? someone could have rear-ended me has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? no has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? the brake light warning flickered on before each instance.

When starting the engine and while driving at speeds of 60+mph, malfunction lamp, fcw, vsa, ldw, low tire pressure (tpms), econ mode, and eps warning lights come on and vehicles slows to 10 mph. Vehicle will remain in this condition until restarted which may or may not resolve the issue. Car will drive but not at speed desired and vehicles appears/sounds as if it is trying to change gears but cannot. The car continues to try to slow down to lower speeds.

When my 2013 Accord was around 80,000 miles my dashboard lit up with "forward collison warning system failure. " the following lights are also on, ldw, power steering, tpms, traction control. I took my car to a mechanic and was told I needed a new vsa/ abs brake control module. I was told this is a common problem for Hondas and is dangerous as it disables traction control and could affect braking as well. The mechanic and a Honda dealer quoted me $3,200 for this repair.

The abs/vsa module failure: tire pressure, traction control, steering, lane departure warning (ldw), and forward collision warning (fcw) dash lights come on; the vehicle is available for inspection upon request, pending recall or private repair. The safety of the driver, passengers, and outside parties is at risk in case of brake failure or brake locking in a situation where the ldw or fcw has failed to alert the driver of a pending collision. The dealer conducted a diagnostic service on the morning of 07/01/2024 indicating abs module and brake flush, codes 81. 19 and 81. 20, with a repair cost of $2,385. 49 for the abs module part and labor of 4. 95 ($3335. 49) and brake flush labor of . 8 ($179. 95) for a total cost of $3,575. 44. The vehicle or parts have not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or others, although galpin Honda performed the above diagnostic. The vehicle dashboard lights mentioned above come on shortly after driving the vehicle at times, with the lights alternating between on and off at any given start-up—they can light up or be off at start-up/drive-off.

During a forward-side lane departure collision in my 2020 Honda Accord, the body control module (bcm), forward collision radar system, braking assist, and vehicle stability assist (vsi) all failed to activate. As a result, the vehicle did not brake, warn, or stabilize before impact. The airbags also failed to deploy during the crash. My safety and the safety of others were put at serious risk, as the vehicle did not respond as designed despite being equipped with these systems. The car is now undrivable but available for inspection. This issue has not yet been confirmed by a dealer due to the car's condition, but similar failures have been reported in other 2020 Honda Accords already under recall. The insurance company did not request vehicle data and did not inspect the systems. There were no warning lamps, alerts, or messages prior to the failure; the malfunction occurred without notice. I am requesting that this vehicle be added to the existing recall list related to bcm and safety system failures.

I was driving about 35 mph with nothing in front of me and suddenly, the “brake” warning came on and the automatic brake engaged. There was a car behind me, but thankfully far enough behind that a rear end collision did not occur. I’m very concerned. I think the system is called cmbs (collision mitigation braking system). I would just as soon not have to have it!.

When driving at highway speeds the auto has started to brake and the warning brake alert flashes on the dashboard when there are no obstructions. On some occasions the brake warning light comes on even when there are no cars or traffic in front of the auto. Recently the cruise control turned off for no apparent reason.

Emergency braking happened several times with no obstacle in the way. Perfect driving conditions in daylight. Twice it slowed down my vehicle on the highway. A few other times the braking light came on but didn’t seem to actually put on the brake.

This car brakes on its own . I reported it to Honda since I have had it have been dealing with the issue it brakes on its own I filled out a form with you guys after reading about “ghost braking” so I am not alone this car is dangerous it has been serviced multiple times Honda corp is aware requested a buy back. Wondering where you guys are in your investigation I have pictures the sensors are all out of whack mitigation control warnings etc but the car literally brakes on its own highway and street Honda states they cannot disable the features. I need help. Please update me occurred again today.

All of the lights on my dashboard come on every few hours and go off. Vehicle is losing power as I drive. Multiple people with this make and model have expressed their concerns of the same issue.
