On my way back to home in san diego CA in late Jan 2019 the panel started showing warning signs like brake system light on, adaptive cruise control/road departure mitigation/lane keeping assist system (lkas) lights are all on saying failure. This was the second time for my around 2000 miles Accord Hybrid. The first time it was able to resolve by re-power on the car but second time it was completely failed. Then I went back to dealer the other day and it turned out the multipurpose camera did not work properly under rain and low temperature (it was just typical san diego winter) so they replaced one. It is extremely dangerous since I have seen people reported the same issue everywhere. After the replacement the auto-highbeam started working as well, before I didnt even know it was not working. . Hybrid light came on. . . Wanted to know if their is a recall to fix it.
When I reached 42k miles on this vehicle, the dashboard display panel went blank while driving rendering most of the safety features lost including the reverse camera, turn camera, bluetooth functions, gas consumption indications, radio and clock functions etc. . When I contacted american Honda headquarters I was told that I need to take the car to a service facility and as I have passed 36k mileage I am responsible for costs associated with the repair. I tried to convey them that the fault has to be an inherent malfunctioning or corruption of the Honda's electronic system components rather than extraneous wear that can be attributed to my use of this vehicle. No, they won't accept responsibility. I got the center audio display, replaced at a cost of $446. 37 plus $70. 61 for the diagnosis.
While driving 6 warning lights pop up on the dash and the brakes fail. The information center of the dash scrolls through saying "brake system problem", "vehicle stability assist (vsa) problem", "hill start assist problem", "collision mitigation system problem", "road departure mitigation system problem", "adaptive cruise control problem". This has happened while driving on the highway and on suburban roadways at various speeds. The last time it happened I was breaking while approaching a red light and nearly rear ended the person in front of me. A diagnostic was done and the brake simulator and tandem motor were determined to require replacement.
Hello, on my way to grocery store I realized that my car wasn't rolling smoothly. Then I look on my dashboard and found the steering light and battery light popped up then after half block all other light lite up and the worst part was the steering wheel movement was harder I would say it was next to steer so I used emergency light and pulled the car on the side of the road and turned off the engine. After 10-15 minutes I was able to drive and safely reached a garage there the technician after inspection told me that the parts seems to be fine and car needs a software update . Which can only be done by a dealer.
On Friday, April 27, 2018, while driving on a major highway and parkway on three occasions I had a system failure while driving and lost braking ability. I applied the brake pedal & the car didn't slow down. I used the handheld parking brake to stop. When the car was turned off & restarted systems all worked for a few minutes & then failed again. I drove off the highway to safety & parked. On Saturday, April 28, 2018, I drove the car to Honda service center. Service advisor fenix did not believe me but they ended up giving me a loaner car. On Monday, April 30, 2018, I received a call from service advisor fenix asking if the service manager could drive my car home because they cannot find any issues with my car or my brakes. I said yes. Service manager experienced the same system failure that I experienced while he was driving home. On may 12, 2018 I picked up my car from Honda and was told issue was fixed. On may 17, 2018, at about 6:22 am, I was driving on the cross island parkway in heavy rain when I once again experienced a total system failure resulting in my car not having the ability to stop by applying the brakes. I stopped again by utilizing the parking brake. Honda towing towed the car to the Honda dealership where an employee then drove the car to the Honda service center and then returned to the dealership in a different car to pick me up and transport me to the service center. I have no confidence in this car and cannot ever see myself driving it or allowing my family to ride in it regardless of who is driving it as it is not safe!!.
As I was driving on the highway on the left lane at a speed of 60-65 mph, all the safety systems on the car reported error and I lost the brakes on the car. I was able to move into the right most lane and eventually onto the shoulder of the highway and come to a rolling stop by shifting into neutral. I tried to restart the car to see if the sensors reset, but that didn't happen. I had to get towed home and then to the Honda dealership. After a day the Honda service department called me back and suggested that there was some kind of a simulator issue on the car and that part had failed and needs to be replaced. I was lucky that I walked away from this without any accident. However, this has surely impacted me and my wife emotionally. We are not confident with the safety of the car anymore.
Pulling out of a shopping plaza onto the highway, driving about 20mph at first, the rear of the car started shaking mildly. Within a few seconds the car started shaking excessively, vibrating very loudly. I thought I had 2 flat tires but then the indicator lights came on. . . The check engine symbol and the "power system problem" I immediately pulled over and checked the vehicle all of the tires were ok. I sat for a few minutes letting it cool down started the vehicle and all of the display warnings were off I turned off the "econ" option and pushed the "ev" (electric vehicle) button hoping if the problem was related to that, those options would now be disabled I very slowly drove it home (about 2 miles). Driving about 55mph on the highway the exact same happened as above except this time the car slowed down almost immediately and the steering wheel got very loose I pulled into the median the rumbling is very concerning it is so aggressive that it sounds like the car is falling apart. It seems like the engine is all messed up. I'm not sure if the options I checked are correct, the options to check for the problems it might include something I didn't check mark or I might have check marked something unrelated. I just did my best to guess. I don't know a lot about cars so maybe you could verify that the information problem areas are correct. Thank you please advise the exact same thing happened.
Car show break failure, vehicle stability system failure, tpms failure, abs failure. Car is starting fine but I am not comfortable driving. This is brand new 2014 hybrid.
I previously drove my aunt's 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid on several occations. Almost as soon as the vehicle was purchased, on more than one occation, the brakes failed and caused accidents. The accelerator would also accerlerate on its own. The car would simply speed up on its own. The car would also at times stop or turn off on its own. I ussumed because the car was a hybrid or different that it was normal. At times when accidents would occur, I couldn't believe what had happened. The car literally drove away. A few times others drove the car and mentioned the same. My aunt previously tried trading in the the vehicle, but it was too expensive to trade in. On January 11,2011. A fatal accident occurred while driving this vehicle. My mother, whom is a precautious driver was driving my cousin to school and were involved in a fatal car accident. The Honda struck a school bus right in the middle. I believe the car like on many other occations accelerated on its own or the brakes failed. I feel devestated that I have lost my mother and cousin because of this accident, but feel that my mother was not at fault. She was always a safe driver and in this case I believe the vehicle was at fault.
The anti-lock brake system (abs) indicator, vsa activation indicator, vehicle stability assist (vsa) system indicator, parking brake and brake system indicator, malfunction indicator lamp instrument panel lights comes on for no reason. For the lights to go out I must turn the car off and then back on for the lights to go out. This has happened like three or 4 times before with my car. Same problem all times. Martin main line Honda dealership # 207980 in ardmore PA 19003-2385 cannot find / pull any relevant codes from the computer in the car. The dealership cannot find anything physically wrong with my car from the lights or why they cam and keep coming on. I did show the dealership photos I took of the instrument panel with the lights on. The dealership has searched the Honda service tech website for any information on this problem and found nothing from Honda. The regional Honda service rep was asked about this on going problem and he said that he could not do anymore then what the dealership can do on there own. I need Honda to fix this major problem. Thanks.
