I received recall notice in the mail from Honda for NHTSA recall 20v-027 on March 18, 2020 that states that Honda is unable to inspect/repair the vehicle at this time. I emailed them and asked if they would provide me with a free (safe) loaner vehicle until they could fix my unsafe vehicle. They called me on the phone today, March 24, 2020 (1-888-234-2138) and said that they would not provide a loaner vehicle, and that they were sorry, but the repair of my vehicle might take another year from today. 11 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2020

Honda sent me a letter in the mail telling me my car's driver airbag may not be working correctly. They said they didn't have parts to repair it yet and that they would reach out when they had them. That was in March and now it's August. It's almost a half year now that I've been driving a car that might not even have a working air bag in it. I've called them multiple times asking about it and they just say they don't have them and they can't even give me a time frame for when they might. This is just not acceptable for a recall on the driver airbag. They won't even give me any options to stay safe other than don't drive the car.

Honda states that free recall inspections and free repairs will not begin for one year, as alternative replacement parts are not yet available. What am I supposed to do until then? I travel around 200 miles weekly for work, and I cannot afford to buy another car. I feel like I'm risking my life every time I step in my car now. Takata recall air bags.

22 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 09/20/2013

The cars safety belts have had trouble retracting for about 5 years. I was unaware of being able to report safety issues, or would have much sooner. Most recently the low beams went out. The srs light is also on. The cars horn is wired into the srs system. So you loose two major safety features at once. Very bad design. The drivers seat had been loose for years. The skid plate/floorboard cracked and allowed the bolts or hardware to corrode. I ran the VIN and was surprised no recalls are available, as the problems my family is experiencing have been recalled on similar Honda's.

23 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2011

Airbags deployed without cause, resulting in injury to driver. The car then left its lane and struck curb, damaging left wheel, tire and suspension. Injurys to driver were abrasions to chin, blood from mouth, swolen face and bad bruising to chest and breast(female driver).

24 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2011

The contact owns a 2000 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the drivers side seat belt was unable to retract and would pop out of place, causing the srs light to illuminate. When the srs light was illuminated it deactivated the air bag system. The failure could potentially cause injury during a crash. The dealer advised the contact have the seat belt buckle replaced since there was a lifetime warranty. The seat belt buckle was repaired; however, the srs light continued to illuminate deactivating the air bag system. The manufacturer confirmed that there was a lifetime warranty on seat belts but not on the air bag system. The current and failure mileages were 155,000.

25 Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2008

I was involved in a horrible car crash on March 15, 2008. An 18-wheeler swerved into my lane while driving on the highway. When the 18-wheeler swerved, the back of his load hit (the 1st) time on the passenger side. I was then sucked underneath the 18-wheeler, flipped several times while being drug for 100 yards still underneath the 18-wheeler the entire time. Once the vehicle stopped, I was upside down hanging from the 18-wheeler. The airbags in my 2000 Honda Civic never deployed from any side. I was hit with a major impact at every angle upside down and all around. The er medical had to do on-site procedures due to the damage to my head, arm, and leg. They were unable to take my seatbelt off, it had to be cut off. I had a problems in the past with my driver's side seatbelt getting stuck. On a normal day, I normally would have ro jerk the sealtbelt off of me. Please advise me on this situation. I am just now being able to report the airbag situation because I have been in the hospital due to the terrible accident.
