1 Clutch problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic manual transmission. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 mph, the vehicle gear shifter failed. The vehicle was towed to his place of residence. The contacts independent mechanic advised that the failure was caused by the clutch. The dealer advised that repairs to the clutch would be at the contacts expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileages were 69,200.

2 Clutch problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2007

09/04/2007 driving east on I-10, smelled something burning, engine would rev up but car would not go. Coasted over to shoulder (was almost struck in rear by large truck sounding his horn and locking his brakes; I could not accelerate out of his way). Car would shift but would not go. Had car towed to dealer. Invoice stated, "found clutch disc came apart. " car had only 26,232 miles on it. Replaced clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Cost $1098. 68.
