1 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2019

I was told my car needs an inflator but that it is not covered under recall. Why does this car have an airbag issue that is not covered? 802 Honda, in montpelier vt has replaced the drivers seat belt buckle twice and each time the airbag light goes out but now they say it needs a right side airbag inflator in the seat which is not covered by the recall and they gave me a repair estimate (range) of $1,000 to $1,500. This is a safety issue and should therefore be covered by recall. Additionally, there was a recall on the visors which fall into the line of sight when driving as a result of splitting apart which should also be covered but there was an expiration on that recall. The safety issue is the same regardless of whether the car is six years old or 16 and regardless of the mileage so this too should be covered by the manufacturer.

2 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Takata recall: I have had an airbag light on several times. I was told by the dealership it is an inflator code and I will have to pay for a $1,200 repair. On two occasions the seatbelt was replaced. Somedays my light is on, others it is not. There is a recall and there is a technical bulletin but my car is "not impacted" that is untrue. It absolutely is. The vehicle is presenting the same codes as those in these bulletins and recalls and it should be repaired at Honda's expense, not mine. Furthermore, the driver side sun visor is broken but it was not repaired before the end date of the recall (I did not own it then) and now that I own it I am told it is not eligible. I contest, the issue is as much of a safety issue for myself and others on the road in 2018 as it was when it was issued. This too shoulde be replaced at Honda's expenxe not my own. The airbag light goes on and off at will when moving, on city street or highway, turning or going straight. The sun visor does not go out of my line of sight as a result of the failure. This too happens anytime, any where, at any speed, and on any road.

Complaint: srs light illuminated - cause 32-1-x (x=0-9/a-f) open or increased resistance in the right side airbag inflator. Repair is not covered by Honda because "right side airbag inflator (in the seat, not the dash) not covered under the warranty extension" - repair estimate quoted at "around $1,200" at this point, the only issue is the light is on. This is true anytime the ignition is in the on position regardless of vehicle disposition. I opened a case with Honda USA (case number 09737616, and they denied coverage.

Takata recall american Honda motor CO. , inc. (Honda) is recalling certain model year 2006-2011 Honda Civic vehicles. According to the equipment defect notifications (16e-042 and 16e-043) filed by takata, the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Overly aggressive combustion creates excessive internal pressure when the inflator is activated, which may cause the inflator body to rupture. Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. There has not been an accident or crash, but I received a letter from my insurance company asking me to look to see if this car was affected by the recall. Should I be replacing the airbags in this car?.

6 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Takata recall on August 19, 2016, we took our Honda to the dealer to have the airbag inflator replaced under the recall. Our dealer ran into a problem with a mounting bolt (apparently a bolt was cross-threaded and twisted off). A call to Honda America confirmed the entire air bag would then have to be replaced. Our dealer ordered the part that day. And has of this writing not yet received the air bag from Honda America. Our dealer gave us a loaner car for two months, but then took it back and gave us our car back, without a front passenger-side airbag, on October 31, with instructions to not put a passenger in the front seat. (in order to get my car back, I had to sign a statement on the work order saying I had refused a repair, but I was not offered a repair to refuse. I had to sign the work order or not get my car back. ) just prior to the dealer calling and taking the loaner back, I wrote a letter to Honda America about the delay in delivering the replacement airbag. I have received no reply. So it has been four and one-half months my car has been waiting on a replacement air bag. As far as I can tell, this is a problem with Honda America; I believe my dealer has acted in good faith. Attachments: - original recall notice - work order from my dealer - my letter to Honda America.

Takata recall NHTSA recall # 16v-346 this is not a complaint against my Honda dealership. Rather, it is a query of the utmost importance. The dealership is due to replace the takata passenger air bag inflator on July 16. How will I be able to determine whether the replacement part is not defective and most importantly whether the installation was done correctly. Thank you. Honda has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2006-2011 model year Civic vehicles. The propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. Failure Date: 07/01/2016

I received a letter in July 2016 (official date may 23, 2016) detailing an important safety recall on my 2006 Honda Civic. The problem is that "the propellant wafers in some of the subject inflators may degrade over time, which could lead to over-aggressive combustion in the event the airbag is activated. " the letter goes on to explain that this could cause metal fragments to pass through the airbag cushion and harm the vehicle occupant. The only option given in the letter is to avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall repair has been performed. According to the letter, the parts were supposed to be available by now. I am concerned for my safety and other people's safety as they ride in my car. ** much time has passed, and I expect immediate repair free of charge. ***.

14 Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

For some time, a warning notice was on my dashboard saying that the airbag on the passenger front seat of my car was turned off. In Jul 2016, I received NHTSA recall 16v-346 saying there was an airbag recall and I shouldn't have passengers sit in the front seat until the recall repair has been performed. The notice said the "remedy parts needed to conduct passenger frontal airbag inflator recalls will become available in late summer/fall of 2016. " it's December. I haven't heard from Honda saying that parts of available. I checked safecar. Gov, which said recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available. This is unacceptable. I'm afraid to drive my car.
