1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 11/18/2022

Continuous monitoring, including on the road, to create hazard. The following incidents are more about activities directly related to remaining qualified for a job and maintaining oneself in a state that is acceptable to employers. Reporter name veronica rojas munoz virojas@gmail. Com 626-315-1705 Honda Civic/crx 2006gray, CA 5tyz275 mysantaana work order #1277343 traffic engineering-signal issue speed of traffic lights sped up and skipped through yellow to cause crossing at red or stopping within a foot of the crosswalk. Intersection has cameras around traffic lights. Timing was off enough to question, ie actually watching a stopwatch to know that it sped through yellow and ended green early from my view point was clearly seen. I will investigate further. Traffic patterns didn’t support such action and pedestrian activity just for that crossing was heavy while the other directions were not. Seemed suspicious but such timing had little effect on where my car stopped anyways. It was suspicious that there weren’t pedestrians traveling north and south on 17th or at the opposite side of the intersection, but that the side was on had at least 8 people immediately crossing. 114 s bristol st, santa ana, CA, 92703 report submitted Nov 16, 2022 - 7:39 am new request # 34378 [6363313032376666] location: 2301 s azusa Ave description: criminal or illegal activity (trespass into vehicle/ theft of control during operation) in the city of west covina I left home depot (2220 s. 3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/08/2022

I am being targeted as a driver since 2010 for driving programs that automatically adjust the weight needed to effectively press the brake and gas pedals of any vehicle. 4/8/2022 3:34 pm pst, such activities occurred when merging onto traffic on the 57 n freeway from imperial hwy on ramp. To confirm that such occurred and that it was not due to overwhelming the engine during driving in high heat conditions, e. G. 97 degrees. On past occasions, this has involved accelerating, although minimal, when I have pushed the gas pedal at e. Cameron Ave. And s. Pima Ave. Cross walk, to cause embarrassment, harassment, reports, and use of my emergency brake because children were crossing following a crosswalk guard. This incident was reported during 2010-2012. Such activity was suspected beforehand but too difficult to conclude that such was the case w/o incidents like the one just aforementioned. Since 2010, the radio has played alternative broadcasts, especially during activities as the one mentioned above to cause alarm, stress or for the purpose of involving someone else, such as maria auxiliadora hernandez, formerly solis and now flores, of knowing exactly what was said or what I was saying to myself w/o anyone around at any time. Such activities appear to be implemented as her work rather than the actual work she is supposed to complete for the company that she holds herself out as working for, e. G. The woman at the donut shop counter is supposed to be engaging in donut shop related activities, but instead begins to harass other employees and clients regarding what was emitted through the radio or what they were doing at the time of the broadcast, instead of completing activities related to staffing a donut shop. Such activities were used to control the extent of her work and her work environment in lieu of what she is contracted to complete. Cover up seems to be testing driving practices when its supposedly apparent that I am on my way to work in lieu of home.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2017

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2017

My abs system caused me to crash. I was going 20 mph in snowy conditions (I have snow tires). When I pressed the brakes the abs system engaged but after 20 feet or so my car had not slowed at all. Finally I pulled the emergency brake and the car began to slow, but it was too late and I hit the car in front of me. I've slide through several intersections in the past because when the abs comes on in the snow there is virtually no braking at all. I know it's the abs system that is the problem becuase in all of these instances I can accelerate with no problem, but when I try to brake the car wont stop. I finally took the fuse out of the abs and drove through the same intersections and my car stops immediately with no problem. I even tried slamming on my brakes on the snow covered road with my abs fuse removed and the car stops in like 5 feet, but with the abs fuse installed it takes about 30 feet. Why is abs required if it's so dangerous in the snow/ice? why is there no button to turn it off.

The technician diagnosed that the wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

I took my car into a shop to get it checked out and they said I have uneven tire wear he showed me it looked like zebra stripes in my tires. He said he thinks this was a recall. But he also said I needed front brakes. He said the rear brakes were not being used at all and that's why my front brakes went so quick. I was very upset. They should not have sold me a car that didn't have brakes in the rear. I have 2 children 1 is 3 and the other is 9. I really need to have brakes in my car.

12 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2013

I was stopped at a stop light that had just turned red (no one was in front of me). When I noticed that the light was turning yellow for the cross traffic, I let up on the brakes a little bit & maybe rolled a few inches. Suddenly I felt a forward thrust & immediately depressed the brake harder & looked in my rearview mirror as it felt like a car was pushing mine, there was no car behind me. I could hear the engine reving & I had to put more pressure on the brakes but then the light had turned green so I began to accelerate. (this all happened in just a few seconds) I immediately looked at the carpet which was completely in place. I continued to drive & when I had to stop I left a lot of space from the car in front of me but I was not able to recreate the incident. It was not full throttle but enough to really scare me. Yesterday I made a report to Honda of America & they were going to forward the report to the larry hopkins Honda dealer in burlingame where I have an appointment this Friday, April 4th. I did find reports on the internet where other people have had that same thing happen & their garage could never duplicate the incident or find a cause for it so I expect my visit to be fruitless & a waste of money, but I realize that I have to do it. I will always worry as long as I drive this car that that could happen again & I may not be as lucky with the outcome. I was not planning to buy another new car until 2016.

13 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2011

Two days ago I was pulling into a parking space in a grocery store parking lot. I was slowing the car down using the brakes. As I turned into the parking space I applied pressure on the brakes, the brakes became soft and suddenly the engines rpms increased and began jumping between 3000 rpms to 4000 rpms. The car began to move forward even though I had the brakes fully depressed and I was in danger of hitting other cars or people. I immediately put the car in neutral and the rpms jumped even higher. I turned the engine off and after a few seconds the engine stopped. I re-started it and drove to the Honda dealership. They have had the car for two days and can not find the problem (or so they say). This is the second time in 8 weeks this has happened in this car (see complaint number 10435619). This was not pedal error. My foot was only on the brake. After doing a google search I see hundreds of similar complaints. Honda is not admitting that there is a problem with the software in their cars but there is. Please look into this before too many people get killed. I could have easily run over the 2-3 people walking in front of me if I hadn't been through this before and knew to put the car in neutral right away. Both times when I put my foot on the brake I felt the brakes soften and the engine suddenly revved. It appears to me that there is some glitch in their software that tells the engine to downshift when braking. Instead of downshifting the engine accelerates. Something is clearly wrong with this car. Unfortunately the check engine light does not come on so Honda can not find the error. Clearly if you do a google search there is a serious problem out there with these Hondas.

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2010

Our 2006 Honda Civic ex automatic had the battery die on us while the key was still in the ignition and apparently this combo is a sure fire way of destroying the abs modulator which Honda charges $900 to repair. This is a wide spread Honda problem which was revealed once I started searching for what the lights on our dash meant. More people with the same problem can be found here. . Read more...

15 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2009

I have been having problems with my 2006 Honda Civic lx unexpectedly accelerating while braked. One incident occurred while stopped at a stop sign. The car began to accelerate by itself while my foot was on the brake. In an attempt to stop the car from proceeding into the intersection, I had to apply both feet heavily on the brake pedal. Luckily, no one was crossing the street in front of my car at the time. After this incident, I brought the car to my Honda dealer to investigate this problem. Since the acceleration problem did not occur anytime during the service test drive, the dealer was unable to find anything wrong that would cause the car to accelerate unexpectedly. In a second similar incident, I was stopped waiting to exit a commercial parking lot onto a major thoroughfare. Again, the car began to accelerate fiercely. This time I was unable to hold back the car with both feet on the brake. In a panic, fearing I would hit someone crossing in front of my path, I attempted to shift the car into park or reverse just to stop it from continuing forward. The latest incident occurred on 10/3/09 while braked at a corner intersection waiting for traffic to clear down the block where I wanted to make a right turn. This time while my foot was on the brake and I proceeded slowly to turn the corner, the car began to accelerate unexpectedly. This occurred while another car was proceeding down the block towards me. With both feet on the brake, I was unable to hold back the car as I proceed around the corner. As my car continued to race forward, I was fortunate to be able to maneuver around the other car without striking it head on. These unexpected accelerations have been very terrifying experiences and it is even more upsetting to learn from the dealer that this problem cannot be explained or repaired. This problem is truly a safety hazard and warrants further investigation by the Honda corporation.

I own a 2006 Honda Civic coupe lx.

19 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2007

The recent recall of Honda odyssey and element models made me remember two things about the 2006 Honda Civic that I owned. I experienced the same braking issue on it- I would have to hold the brake pedal down pretty forcefully in order to make sure it wouldn't creep forward while stopped. It was an automatic transmission, and if stopped on an incline on a hill (at a red light or stop sign), when the brakes were released the car would move backward significantly. This didn't happen on a steep hill- I have driven several other cars on this same hill and never had a problem. It was so significant that I would have to prepare myself to accelerate immediately and with relative force to prevent the car from rolling backwards.

20 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2006

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the brake pedal was difficult to depress when the vehicle was cold. As a result, the stopping distance increased. The failure mileage was 10,000 and current mileage was 20,000. The consumer stated the problem happened when backing out of the garage and down the driveway. Updated 10/24/07.

21 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2006

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic. While applying pressure to the brakes wile the vehicle is in reverse, they fail to engage immediately.
