1 Steering problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2022

VIN is not actual vehicle in complaint; complaint is related to issue no. 11460208, where cars leased from enterprise auto rental [ (next to ontario Honda)- 4/7/2022 unnecessary lane departure warning and keeping assistance that resembled shoving in front of quest diagnostics at 6102 orbis way ste 510, eastvale, CA 92880 ], and hertz auto rental (next to west covina Honda; not hertz in texas) issue radio broadcasts to deter use of vehicle through radio broadcasts to cause impression that driver should not be driving vehicle, but w/ other continuous activities, such as through rentals from uhaul city of industry (17959 e valley blvd, city of industry, CA 91744). Its always alternative broadcast or a voice actually emitted, similar to chp, that acts like I'm being pulled over. On 8/18/2017, sister intentionally drove in manner that I found unsafe or aggressive to show me that broadcast would still not be directed to her and only to me throughout rental period. Apparent to others since beforehand although no tickets or accidents existed that such discrimination would occur based on verbal statements. Such activities also lead to very repulsive customer service from businesses that seem to be required to be open during time leading to covid-19 but where staff appears to lead against that decision, I. E. You walk into store you've never been to, but know of their customer service based on chain, and instead of being greeted, you walk by more than one store representative that you have never met before that treats you rudely, aside from even cashier, instead of no interaction with minimal interaction only reflecting trained protocol. This resembles maria auxiliadora hernandez, formerly solis and now flores, when engaging in cooperative activity. I was never covid-19 positive, and issue didnt improve after obtaining compulsory vaccinations. I would state that such recordings and people are intended to be intimidating although they mainly seem to be nuisance to me.

2 Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2021

This was a drive from NY to boston. In boston, I was driving about 45mph, 1 mile before the last exit from hwy. Suddenly, the car is out of control, probably the brake system, making the car turning around until it hits the divider on the rear right side of the car. Both right-side passenger airbags were activated, but none inflated as expected. Luckily, we didn't hit any other cars. Three people in the car were safe, except I have muscle pain near the neck and shoulder.

3 Steering problem

Failure Date: 07/07/2019

Car has excessive vibrating when at idle, and when putting car in reverse, steering also vibrates more than necessary.

4 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2018

My daughter was driving at a speed of 70 mph. When her steering wheel locked up on her she had no control of car. She hit her brakes and that is when she got control of steering but spun out of control going into the medium. Breaking the passanger side wheel to come off.

5 Steering problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2015

The contact owns a 2006 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, an abnormal noise emitted from the vehicle and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the pivot bolt needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

6 Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2014

A faultily designed upper rear control arm causes uneven tire wear and alignment & braking issues.

7 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2013

At around 35mph the vehicle suddenly started to make a metallic-type noise and the vehicle shut down immediately. If it would've happened 5 seconds later it would've occurred right as I was about to make a left turn, it would've most likely caused a severe accident and possibly a fatality. When I took the car to where the vehicle was purchased from they told me a bolt was torn lose from the tensioner. This caused all belts to break down and the engine to shutdown while running at around 35mphs. Furthermore, the bolt flew into the engine block costing costly repairs. The company, Honda refused to pay for the damage caused by this defect and told me to take it with my extended warrant provider. They claim it's wear and tear but that is not the case as previous recalls for the same problem were issued for my vehicle but according to them not my particular VIN. Bolts shouldnt tear off at 29,000 miles or six years.

8 Steering problem

Failure Date: 05/08/2012

This Civic has a defect on rear control arms causing tires to wear uneven and rapidly and making a horrible noise coming from the back this is unsafe issue I replace the rear shock absorbers, the whell hubs and ofcourse the tires and the problem still there until control arm be replaced for an adjustable one for proper aligment ,,, Honda motor company is not paying for anything , I think costumers don't have pay for Honda mistakes that's not fair.

9 Steering problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2012

The rear tires wear badly to the point of the tires cupping and wearing unevenly. This process is horrible and dangerous as it will eventually shake the car and lock the seat belt while driving on the highway. A person also loses the ability to steer effectively due to the bumpiness from the tires. When I took my vehicle in to get new tires (due to problems stated above), they said that the inside of my tires were on the verge of blowing out, yet I still had tread on the outer side of my tire. Based on this, I was more at risk to have a blow-out at any time and would have had no inclination because my tires still looked new ? until my vehicle was up on a lift. Since then, I have only had my new tires for 25,000 miles (rotated every 5,000 miles) and my mechanic is now refusing to rotate them based on the uneven wear and ?dangerous driving conditions? that could result if they rotated them (their liability). The inside of the tires are already bald while there is more than half the tread of the outer side of the tire. Based on tbs 08-001 this is a known issue with the 06-07 vehicles, yet Honda has yet to recall their faulty factory parts.

10 Steering problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2011

Occasionally, after starting the car, the power steering system does not activate. The eps(electronic power steering) light on the dash comes on, and the car will run without power steering. Usually by turning off and restarting the car a few times fixes the problem.

11 Steering problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2010

My 2006 Honda Civic had the tsb09-007 recall performed to reroute the drive belt and replace the pivot bolt on 3/9/2009. The bolt broke after another 20000miles on 8/21/2010. I do not think my dealer replaced the bolt in question (hoffman Honda of west simsbury connecticut) or the recall is not sufficient to fix the problem. This is a safety issue because the TSB clearly states this failure can result in a loss of power steering.

12 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/15/2007

During the years of 2008 through 2011, I brought vehicle to sheehy Honda of alexandria for regular service. On several occasions I complained of excessive road noise. Technicians made notations of tires "cupping, noise" and acknowledged uneven and premature wear and recommended replacement of rear control arm. I declined the recommended service on the grounds that I felt like that sounded like a defective part issue for which I should not be required to pay. Upon further research I found that Honda had acknowledged a problem with control arms on 2006 Civics in service bulletin 08-001. In 2011, I brought this to Honda's attention through sheehy Honda of alexandria, va and through calls to american Honda motor CO. , inc. Honda refused to replace control arm. In July of 2013, I received a notice, through Honda, from the united states district court for the central district of California instructing me to take my 2006 Civic in to have the control arm inspected/replaced. In August of 2013, I took the vehicle to sheehy Honda of alexandria for the recommended service. They did not look at the control arm. They instead made a notation that the "rear tire wear is okay at this time" and refused to replace the control arm. When I brought it to their attention that there is a record of this issue with them on my car going back to 2011, I was informed that all records are purged after two years and they had no record of interactions with me on this issue.

13 Steering problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2007

On sept 7, 2007. I complain to Honda dealership in carson, about a roaring sound on my real wheels. Aside from that there was uneven wear on both inner side of the tires. The sound was like a bearing failure. They told me that I need an alignment. So I paid for it. Plus I have to buy new tires. Then today 9-2-08. It happened again with the same issues. I was told they wound not cover since it was out of warranty. My car 55,000 however on February of this year 2008. There is a service bulletin regarding this issue. With the same symptoms on 2006 and 07 Honda Civic lx and ex not si. So tried to argue about the service bulletin both Honda dealership and Honda motors north America. They are giving me a run around and wont pay me for my tires and alignment cost. But they will fix the problem which is replacing flange and upper control arm as stated in service bulletin. I request your kind office and recommend a recall on this issues of alignment because they said its just a service bulletin and not a recall. So its not mandatory. So they wont pay for my third tire and alignment . And the can get off the hook. This is a safety issue because not all people recognize this and still drive their cars unit the tread comes out and the whole car shakes when they are bad and wobble the front steering . I'm a mechanic for (yrs never have a hard time getting issues straighten out.

14 Steering problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2006

My 2006 Honda Civic ex is causing excessive, uneven wear to the tires because the rear control arm causes negative camber on the rear tires. As a result, I replace the tires once per year. In addition to the added cost, the car becomes unsafe after a period of driving because of the wear on the tire - creating cups and bald spots on the tire which could lead to failure of the rear tires and a loss of control for the driver.

15 Steering problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2006

TSB 08-001 - rear negative camber is caused by the rear upper control arm for both rear wheels. As a result, the geometry of the wheel's position will cause excessive wear on the rear tires resulting in bald and cupped tires. This wear can cause early failure of the rear tires and loss of control of the car for the driver.
