The drivers side sun visor broke. It can be snapped back into place, but while it's broken, it decreases visibility and it takes two hands to snap it back up. This has happened repeatedly now.
Sun visor in 2006 Honda Civic broke. It split causing it to not function correctly. It just hangs in front of driver's face blocking vision of the road, which is a safety hazard. The visor was never used much and never used forcefully to cause it to break in this way.
2006 Honda Civic driver's sun visor failure. It falls in my line of sight and will not stay up against the roof any longer.
The sides that hold both driver and passenger sun visors are cracked. They have not fallen down yet. It's been like this for so long, I thought it was normal. It wasn't until I received a notice about a settlement that I realized it's not normal. Will try to contact the local dealer to see how much it will cost to get both visors fixed. With all the complaints about these visors, it seems like Honda should've just recalled and fixed them.
1. Not sure of any event that led to failiure 2. Driver's side sun visor will not stay in the flipped up position - the visor has a split in the center - I. E. The center has expanded - so this split precludes it from staying in the flipped up position. 3 3 have not yet replaced, but must replace as it is a visbility safety hazard.
My sun visor split in two and will no longer stay in the upright position, blocking my vision as driver of the car.
The driver's side sun visor split and broke, falling down, and blocking vision while driving during rush hour, causing a dangerous situation.
Summary: I have a 2006 Honda Civic and the driver's visor just decided to come apart. , but it will not stay up in it's proper position, instead, it falls in front of my face causing me to be distracted I can't see the street lights I cannot afford to replace it just yet as I am expecting a baby. I have to leave it down at all times, and it cannot be pushed back, I have to leave it straight down in my face and bend down to see street lights and other things. It just did this one day, and I never even use my visor. Just this week the entire visor cracked and fell off now I have no visor.
I have a 2006 Honda Civic and the visors are broken and hang down. It will not stay up and blocks my vision for street lights, signs etc. I cannot adjust it to keep the sun out of my eyes for certain angles. The Honda dealership will not replace. They want a charge of $75. 00 per visor. They are thousands of complaints and they just keep breaking. Something must be done to fix this problem.
2006 Honda Civic has flip visor issues. I've replaced mine multiple times and it continues to break. It's a safety issue because it constantly drops and gets in the way of my visibility of the road.
Both visors split open and will not stay up. I cannot use them to block the sun and have to duck under them to view the road. This is a major safety issue!.
The sun visors on my 2006 Honda Civic have failed and just hang down. This is seriouly dangerous since the hanging driver-side mirror interferes with the driver's view of traffic. The dealer says, because my car has over 36,000 miles (it has 43,000) it is no longer covered by warranty and there is no applicable recall issued by Honda.
The sun visor on my passenger side cracked and just hangs. It will not fold in the upright position. It is dangling and blocking my field of vision. I have researched this issue and Honda does not think this is a safety concern, yet thousands of customers have experience more than 1 visor splitting on them.
2006 Honda Civic sun visor broken (again). This is the third time my 2006 Honda Civic sun visor has broken. The first time it was replaced under warranty within the first year of owning the car. The second time the car was 2k miles out of warranty but they said they would replace it that one last time. Now it is broken again! if you google "Honda Civic sun visor" you will find thousands of people with this problem. The sun visor splits in half and can no longer be put up (stored position). When the plastic frame of the visor splits, the visor hangs straight down blocking your vision when driving. Because of this, my vision is constantly blocked and I find myself bending down while driving to see if traffic lights are green or red. It can also block my view of a pedestrian stepping off of the curb into the crosswalk. This is a major safety hazard and Honda doesn't want to replace these after the warranty is up although they have a TSB on it. In addition to my view of the road being blocked by this plastic framed sun visor, I'm also afraid if I was in an accident, my face or a passengers could hit the sun visor and the visor could cause major trauma to a human.
I have a 2006 Honda Civic ex 4 door. Both sun visors have failed and fall into the field of vision, making operation of the vehicle dangerous. Honda as of yet has not called a recall. My warranty has expired and my extended warranty does not cover this issue. Honda claims that this is "cosmetic" and does not cover this under its extended plan.
The sun visors on my 2006 Honda Civic ex have been breaking routinely about once a year. I have taken the car to the Honda dealer for repair and they simply replace the broken visor. However, they have not redesigned the faulty visor design and they will continue breaking. This is a safety concern, as the visors break and hang off blocking the drivers ability to clearly see the road.
2006 Honda Civic coupe - driver side sun visor split and falls down to block view while driving and hit my head getting out of the car. Seem to be a lot of complaint on the internet about the same thing. I have an extended warrant, but was told it didn't cover these type of parts.
2006 Honda Civic - sunvisor fell apart drivers side sunvisor fell apart and obstructed view while vehicle was in motion. Performed research and found that this is a common occurrence. Honda needs a redesigned sunvisor as this is a safety hazard. I. E. View obstructed while traveling in traffic.
Purchased certified 2006 Honda Civic ex sedan last Aug. 2009 after 11,200 miles of driving this the car the driver's side and passenger side sun visor broke down. Plastic cracked and went steady down. I'm in houston, TX my conclusion it needs to be recalled for safety purpose by the makers of this cheap crap visor. For 24 yrs. Driving I had a Nissan, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Volvo, BMW never had this problem. . Never. . .
I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 59,700 miles. I have had to replace three sun visors during the past three years because the plastic casing splits, causing the visor to hang down (it will not stay up). This is a safety problem for the driver because it blocks the driver's vision. The dealership has told me that this is a design problem.
Own a 2006 Honda Civic ex. The driver's side sun visor has split under the heat of the sun and no longer stays in the upright position. It flops down and is not only distracting, but can cause the driver (especially taller individuals) to not see traffic lights. I understand that many other owners of this Honda have the same problem. Honda needs to recall this vehicle and replace the existing visors with better designed ones.
2007 Honda Civic. Drivers side sun visor has cracked. Won't stay closed (retracted against the ceiling). Falls down in front of view frequently. This is a common problem with these cars since 2006 when the sun visor design was modified to its current design. Should be considered a severe safety issue. Solutions include: 1) removing the sun visor; not safe. 2) ignoring the problem; when sun visor falls down in front of eyes it's not safe. 3) replacing the sun visor; Honda refuses to provide a free replacement even though there is good documentation on the nature of the problem and duration of the problem. . Frequent Honda Civic sun visor failure impairs driver's vision.
My driver's side sun visor on my 2006 Civic came apart replaced under warranty-when the passenger side came apart they refused to fix it had to pay to get a new one. This is a safety issue because it won't stay up and blocks the vision . Crappy product on a great car. Hold Honda to the fire please.
I have 2006 Honda Civic. It's driver side sun visor is broken. It's not broken because I was playing with it but it just pops out because of the heat. Now it does not stay at top. I have different car but I never had any issue like this.
Entered parked car and while preparing to begin driving, the driver side sun visor unexpectedly failed, hanging down obstructing driver's view. While an attempt to reposition the sun visor was made, the visor would not keep the position and would return to the hanging down position, making safe driving impossible. Another attempt to reposition the visor, this time squeezing the split plastic together, at the hinge, succeeded placing the visor out of the way. The visor has not been repositioned since. I have researched reports and even after replacement of the visor, the problem returns, often much less than a year later. It seems the failure is more a function of heat exposure, than time. In my case, the heat is not an issue. I drive the car back and forth to work only, and the outside temperature is usually 60 to 70 deg. F.
Sun visor hinge fails and visor then hangs down in the line of sight of the driver, potentially causing impairment to visibility. Honda will no longer replace as vehicle is out of original warranty.
Honda Civic 2006. Drivers side sunvisor fails to close, and in the failure, pops open restricting the drivers view of the road. It seems the plastic weld has popped open. Honda is aware of the defect (for years) and does not care to redesign or correct the problem.
Sun visors on 2006 Honda Civic fail when they get hot and start to come apart. Eventually the visor is no longer able to stay up in either the full forward or full rear position and just dangles in the top half of the driver's field of view. This happened last summer on both visors and just happened again on the driver's side. Honda replaced the first set under warranty, but they replaced them with the visors of identical design.
The sun visor on my 2006 Honda Civic split open and now will not stay up. As a tall person this blocks my view of the road and causes a safety hazard. The sun visor split during the summer months in florida when it was about 98 degrees outside. This apparently is not uncommon with this visor in the heat.
Sun visors have a defect where they will not retract and hang in your face while driving. Dangerous driving visabilty. The visor either melted or has a defect which the dealerships know about but Honda will not recall or fix.
I want to report a cracked sun visor on my 2006 Honda Civic lx, which causes the visor to hang and is now obstructing my view, creating a safety hazard. . Read more...
This will be the third time I've had to have my sun-visor replaced on my 2006 Honda Civic. The visor clip breaks, leaving the visor to hang down into your face. The visor will neither stay up or all the way down. It poses a safety hazard during both day time and night time driving. The first time the part was replaced when I bought the vehicle at 9 months old; the second time it was replaced was a year and a half ago. Yesterday I went to my local dealership for an oil change and to have them fix the broken visor and they wanted to charge me 75$ for the part + labor + taxes. This is a safety hazard; also this is not a problem I caused by rough-wear--it just falls apart!.
