2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/28/2016

Purchased 2007 Honda Civic new. Had issue with passenger side airbag light on 2008. Had dealer fix. Light came on 2009. Had dealer fix. Light came back on 2010. Now vehicle warranty period expired. Did not worry because passenger side air only and my son drive mostly by himself. Light have been on ever since. Brought car back to dealer for recall of airbags 7/2016. Had dealer look at side airbag light again. They tell me the I had a faulty floor harness and all my airbags will not work and cost of repair after discount to be $1600. I call american Honda on 8/1 to see if they will cover cost of repair. They did not. Base on my research, I feel this is very unfair. 2007 Honda Civic have this problem side airbag light issue code 32-10. I think my car faulty harness issue was there when I purchased the car new and it cause side airbag light to come on constantly and why the repair never lasted more than a few months. This is a safety issue same as with the seat belt and american Honda should cover cost of repair. American Honda has service notice concerning this problem with the Honda Civic only. My mileage is 85080 at this time.

The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v106000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 203,000. Ak.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2013

During a routine oil change 'equipment inspection' was informed the third brake light was 'burned out'. As this is a multi-light led, the probability of the all the led to have failed was suspicious. Dealer rep was very sure entire unit required replacement and quoted a price of nearly $200 for repair of a piece of safety equipment. Deferred repair to further investigate. Web search shows this is a extremely common occurrence on 2007 and later Civics. Problem is not the led but the solder joints on the assembly which fail frequently. As this is a design deficiency in a piece of safety equipment, one would expect a recall to correct. Apparently as the problem requires 'immediate' repair in most states with annual safety inspections, it has not garnered sufficient traction with NHTSA to warrant action. (note: actual fail date/mileage is unknown).

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2009

This morning, I left work and tried to turn on the windshield wipers. They would not work.

6 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2009

Got into the car one night in the winter of 2009, and the headlamps would not operate.

7 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/30/2008

2007 Civic si sedan w/ premium sound system: only when the engine is running, and the radio is turned, all speakers emit a buzzing sound, whether the volume of the radio is all the way down or casually listening. You can hear the buzzing sound and it its very unpleasant. It occurs all the time the car is on and driving, or idling. When to dealer said they could not do anything about it since Honda has not released a TSB for the problem.

8 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2008

My vehicle is a 2007 Civic hybrid. When its warm out and / or I have several people in the car the hybrid system will shut down. When this happens the car loses its ability to accelerate at an acceptable level. A few times I have attempted to merge into oncoming traffic and the car had so little power that all I could do was pull into the path of the oncoming traffic and not accelerate enough to get out of the way.

9 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2007

I bought a brand new Honda Civic ex. The car seems to hesitate/freezes while driving at random times. Sometimes when starting the car, sometimes while driving. Obviously if I'm pulling into traffic and the car freezes this could become very dangerous. I took the car back to the dealer and contacted the manufacturer. They stated after 2 attempts to fix it that the car is fine and the symptom is a "normal characteristic of the vehicle. " this being the case, I figure I should report this incident.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2007

Slow throttle response since purchase, door glass rattle since purchase, the third gear would give resistance, which is a known problem with the six speed transmission. I patched the problem by changing the transmission fluid and installing a shorter shifter yet this is not a permanent solution. Honda has refused to repair the actual problem with the third gear synchro and at one point stated that it was probably caused by my driving, the problem with the vehicle going into third gear is a known problem and there is a technical service bulletin that Honda corporate has released for the exact problem. The headliner rattles, door gasket seal has been coming off since purchase, suspension popping noise in the front passenger side strut since purchase and the sound has become more frequent, the driver side visor was defective and was replaced, the driver door hits the fender when opening just started happening since Honda worked on my vehicle. I have been taking my vehicle to two different dealerships (recommended by Honda corporate) and nothing has been properly repaired. I feel as though I have been given the run around for the past year. Honda has made several attempts to repair the problems and has not been able to, they have only damaged my vehicle during their attempts to repair it. They have damaged the front bumper three times, the side of the vehicle once, the door and fender once. They of course denied any involvement in the damage, then repair it under warranty.
