2007 Honda Civic ex faulty ac condenser. Stopped working abruptly. Dealer told me before looking at it that it was a rock that had put a hole in it. Indicated they had seen numerous condensers on 2007 Honda models that this had happened. They would not replace it, even with it under warranty since they determined it to be a rock that caused this small hole. I followed up on internet and saw that there have been hundreds of other Honda owners with this same problem and Honda refuses to do anything to help. This is absolutely a defective make in this vehicle. Honda does not want to assume any responsibility for this problem that should be covered under warranty. A car 3 years old should not have this happening to it. I have maintained this car with all service agreements and maintenance records.
When I originally purchased this vehicle at $14,000 miles I immediately started to hear noise from the tires at highway speed but it wasnt until my failed inspection that I noticed the severity of the uneven wear/ear on mainly the back tires. Due to a control arm recall, I went to Honda in order to get this fixed and purchased my own tires at the time since they wouldnt cover it. Unfortunately, about 19,000 miles later, again my inspection failed due to the tires. I had replaced it again but at this time Honda would not do anything and told me that it is past the warranty point and if I bring it in and they find that there's something wrong, I would have to pay for it as its not covered under my general warranty. I dont get this because clearly it is a manufactures recall and I shouldnt have to pay for this plus my tires every 19,000 miles. I purposely chose to buy a Honda because they are known to be economical and reliable. None of which my '07 Honda Civic ex has been. I tried taking it out with new tires during the snow; biggest mistake. Even driving in the rain is a hazard. This should be a huge warning for those who are in the market for a Honda Civic. These cars are not woth the price if the tires are not reliable. Tires are an important sector of a car. This is really dissapointing and I would not think twice about taking this matter to court.
I was pulling into a parking space when all of the sudden the car started to accelerate. I was pushing as hard as I could on the breaks and they weren't working. I then ran into a tree and immediately put the car into park. I had to turn the car off because it was smoking. I am not sure if the engine was still running after I hit the tree or not. I know that my foot was firmly planted on the brake, checked to see where my feet were after hitting the tree and turning the car off. I have never had this happen before in my car. It only has 34000 miles. It has had regular maintenance such as oil change and the tires were replaced at 25,000 miles.
And request for reimbursement was submitted to american Honda motor CO. , inc. I followed the instructions and eligibility requirements as stated on the card I received in the mail from Honda, and submitted the required documentation. The requirements were: complete the attached request for reimbursement form attach a copy of the repair receipt or invoice for the repair attach proof of payment mail to american Honda motor CO. ,inc. Honda is now asking for the serial number on the engine block before they will honor the reimbursement. The eligibility requirement does not state that the serial number is required. The eligibility requirements state: you must have had your vehicle repaired before receiving the notice. You must have owned the vehicle at the time of repair. You are still eligible to receive reimbursement if you no longer own the vehicle, as it was stolen and declared a loss by my insurance company. I no longer have the vehicle to find the serial number on the engine block. I feel Honda is not honoring their own reimbursement guidelines. My repair/replacement bill was $4863. 49.
I took my 2007 Honda Civic to the dealer because of extreme vibrations from the rear of the car. I was told that the rear suspension is bad, causing my rear tires to go bad. They said that they had seen this problem on other cars and would pay for half of the price for a new set of tires but only if I bought the tires from them. My car is 15 months old and I have already had it in the shop twice for problems. I will never buy another Honda.
A/c out on 1 year old Honda Civic. Dealer says "rock hit the a/c condenser". This is either a faulty part or a design flaw and has been noted by Honda owners as far back as 2003 (according to web research). Car is currently in san diego and this is a safety issue as an over heated driver could be distracted or drowsy. Car has not yet been fixed - Honda denies any responsibility and cost to fix is over $600.
