1 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2019

Faulty a/c compressor locks up the drive belt causing the crankshaft pulley to stop rotating which results in the engine and all accessories (power steering, power brakes, etc. ) to turn off randomly in the middle of driving. This happens after the engine is turned-on and has occurred consistently when the vehicle is driven for a few minutes and when it is at idle for a few minutes. No warnings or engine fault codes found on ecu, this mechanical failure will cause vehicle to turn off in the middle of driving, the steering wheel to lock-up, the power brakes to no longer function correctly and puts the driver and everyone around at a serious risk of injury and death.

2 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2018

Around 2009, January 2016 and September 2018 when driving very slowly (two of these times in a parking garage and one time when turning a tight corner with pedestrians present), I believe I suddenly braked but my car sped up. The latest occurrence resulted in property damage. I am unaware of a recall related to unintended acceleration for my car. Could this be a mechanical or design problem?.

3 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 10/09/2016

My rear lower control arms need to be be replaced with the correct ones stamped "c". Honda dealers in southern California are refusing to correct the mistake at no cost to me. Please help!.

4 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2016

1. I see airbags warning in my car but it is not in the recall list. 2. Driver side sunvisor is not working. 3. In initial years, had to change the brakes so many times (almost every year) - no receipts are saved.

5 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2015

Takata recall:I see srs warning in my car for few days and the alarm disappears after few days. This is happening again and again. After I get my car diagnosed with Honda dealer, my car got airbag problem but not covered under recall. I had to change the disk brakes of this car more frequently. They do not last even for 15000 miles.

6 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 04/09/2014

I just had to replace the tires for the second time on this car. The car is expiring uneven tire wear. This does effect braking of the car as well. Honda has admitted that the rear control arm is to short effecting suspension and tire wear. This is dangerous because the visible part of my tire looked fine, plenty of tread and about 38000 on a 90000 mile tire. The inside of the tire was so worn it actually had a hole worn in it. This wear issue could cause a tire to fail while traveling at a high rate of speed. Please help the owners of these vehicles get a recall from Honda before someone is hurt.

7 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

I have had my vehicle for 2 years now. In that time I have put only 20000 miles on the vehicle. I have had to replace my tires twice already on the vehicle due to uneven wear on the tires. The camber of the tires is affected by the rear control arms. This also caused the rear suspension to wear, which I have already had to replace on the vehicle. When breaking my steering wheel shakes affecting my steering. This is caused by the uneven inner tire wear on this vehicle. I am concerned for the safety on this vehicle and I believe other similar vehicles might have the same issue. It is also become a quite expensive problem for me to have to deal with on this vehicle. To whom it may concern, thank you!.

8 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

I keep changing brakes and rotors. I have done this 2-3 times so far. The steering keeps shaking violently when you apply brakes. If you don't change the rotors, this problem will get worse, so I am forced to keep changing the rotors every other year. Over the years, I have had many Honda cars. I don't believe this is a normal wear and tear condition. I believe there's a fundamental safety problem with the brakes or the rotors. Not sure what is wrong, but I believe there's a safety issue with Honda Civic 2007rotors and brake system that someone needs to look into it. Please look into this.

9 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2012

Uneven tire wear. Honda won't replace the bad control arms because I put on snow tires and they said that voids any warrantee I would have, I've gone through several sets of tires now. Steering wheel shakes badly anytime I go over 50 mph. Brakes have issues. The car is unsafe and Honda won't do anything about it.

10 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 06/11/2010

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. While reversing out of a parking space at speeds of 2 mph, the contact noticed an unusual squeaking coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the front and rear brakes and the upper control arm were replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 75,000.

11 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 03/23/2010

I am not sure if this is where I should put this information, but I have a 2007 Honda Civic with 31,000 miles that the dealership states needs new front brakes. They told me right up front that this was common in the Civic and if it was an accord, it would be rear brakes. I have driven cars for over 45 years, and have never had a car that requires a brake replacement at this low milage. I bought this car because the consumer ratings for reliability and dependability were the highest I could find. They did not mention this issue with the brakes. I am not sure who to contact, but other consumers would surely liike to be aware this is a problem with this model of Honda.

12 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2009

Rapid tire wear occurred on the inner portions of both rear tires. The problem was discovered after noticing much road noise and having the tires rotated. Two new tires were purchased and the rear upper control arms were replaced. The problem still exists to this day after consulting two different Honda garages they both confirmed that the rear control arms were installed correctly and are within spec. Both garages recommended replacing the tires again, but this is becoming very costly. The ride of the car over the last year has gotten significantly worse and now I'm noticing braking problems. The car hops in the back when applying the brakes at highway speeds. Honda is denying the problem and has offered no compensation.

13 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2008

I was in a car accident on July 11, 2008 and rear ended the back of someone's care while I was going 35 miles an hour. My brakes locked up and my airbags did not deploy. I was treated at the emergency room for a chest contusion and a sprained neck. My car is in the shop awaiting a diagnostic test to see why my brakes and airbags did not work and it is also getting a repair.

14 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. The vehicle was intermittently experiencing an increased stopping distance. While driving approximately 15 mph pressure was applied to the brakes and the vehicle did not stop until repeated pressure was applied to the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the rotors were worn. The authorized dealer replaced all four brakes; yet intermittently the vehicle continued to experience an increased stopping distance. She also stated that the vehicle surged forward from a stop resulting in a single car crash in which the air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The driver was injured. The vehicle was not examined to determine the cause of failure. The failure mileage was 3,000. The current mileage was 24,000. The VIN was unavailable.

15 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/07/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. While driving 60 mph and attempting to apply the brakes, the contact felt the brakes lock. The steering wheel was forced out of his hands. The contact struck a curb and drove into the living room of someone's residence. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belts failed. The contact called the Honda manufacturer and they dispatched an adjuster and an engineer, who both stated that nothing could be done. The failure and current mileages were 19,500.

16 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. While driving 50 mph, the contact lost control of the steering and the vehicle spun out of control when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle then crashed into a wall. As of September 17, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure. A police report was filed. The failure mileage was 1,500 and current mileage was 3,000.

17 Service Brakes problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the front brakes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The contact mentioned that the brakes were replaced once a year on the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unavailable.
