Went to my local Honda dealer because of heavy vibration while driving. Dealership informed me that I needed to replace my rear control upper arm because my tires were cupping badly. I have already replaced tires yearly because of uneven wear. I called corporate Honda, since I am out of warranty they will not reimburse with parts and labor despite 2013 settlement regarding this matter. It is a safety issue regarding tire suspension and Honda is turning a blind eye. .

7 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2014

While driving in a residential area at approx 20-25 mph, there was a loud bump as if a rock had hit the underside of the car; shortly the steering was off kilter -- to go straight had to keep the steering wheel turned 30 degrees right; loud rubbing sound; pulled into a driveway and then could not back up -- found that right front tire was bent in, so that top of tire abutted the wheel well. Car towed to dealer -- found strut bolts on right front tire were loose. Car had been serviced one week prior: replaced failed starter and performed oil change and b service with inspection of brakes and tire rotation.

8 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2013

Was advised of uneven tire wear (cupping) and brought car to tire store for alignment and possibly new tires. Tire store (also repair shop) was unable to perform alignment because of problem with bent camber arms. I paid approx $700 to replace. (note: I own another 2007 Civic which had same problem and paid for same replacement/repair). Repair shop said that this has been a problem with Hondas. Though I my repair shops conscientously check tech bulletins, Honda did nothing to make me or the repair shops aware of this problem. , I have seen other postings with similar suspension problems and believe that Honda needs to step up and own it.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Rear tires tends to wear out faster due to design defect in upper controller arm. Drivers will be unaware of wore tread wear towards the body side posing a risk to loose control in some circumstances especially during wet conditions. In addition, value of the car depreciated due to paint fading and Honda knowingly denying any defect in the quality of the paint used as cost cutting tactic during 2007 early recession.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/31/2013

Took my Honda Civic for schedule maintenance as usual, then I was told that car needed front axle repaired. My car has only 49, 159 miles. When searching online for similar cases, I found out this to be a known problem with the 2007 Civic. The issue I have with Honda is that why Honda didn't recall the 2007 Civic for due repair of the problem right after the problem was detected? I don't recall receiving any communication from America Honda motors and/or any recommendation from the dealership during the last 5 1/2 years that I took my car for service. P. S. - car has not been involved in an accident (yet).

11 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2013

The tires on my 2007 Honda Civic kept show bad wear and had to rotate every 10,000-15,000 until couldn't do it anymore, bought several sets of tires:: solved the problem buy paying almost $900 to fix the arms on the rear end. Said thing is Honda knew and knows about this problem but wont do a recall. . . Good news is after all my sets of tires and $900 dollars my car is now getting good wear out of the tires.

12 Suspension problem

Combination of the tires and the rear suspension geometry cause rapid or uneven tire wear?. It caused the car to have bad vibration, especially at highway speeds.

Apparently cannot be aligned properly. I'm replacing 3rd set of tires within 50k miles.

14 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/28/2012

I went to Honda dealer for maintenance and found out that my rear tires are wearing prematurely and unevenly. I only have 38000 miles on the car and regularly maintained at Honda dealerships. Dealer suggested me to change all four tires for that and alignments + replace rear upper arm, which is causing uneven wearing of rear tires. However Honda is not doing anything about this issue and they charges customers for all cost for prematurely wearing tires and cost for replacing defectively designed parts. I have searched online and many other customers are complaining about this issues and Honda is unresponsive to the issue.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 02/16/2012

Rear tires are cupping and they've become very noisy after 5,000 miles. Problem first noticed: November 2011. The rear tires were always slippery in tight curves at normal speed. Went to route 23 Honda, NJ for a check up on 02/16/12. They blamed my new tires (10000 miles old). Charged me $96. 25 for a 4 wheel alignment, no problem found with the rear wheels. I have asked them about service bulletin 08-001 (uneven or rapid rear tire wear) but they did not admit any fault. They've said my car does not need a repair as per sb 08-001 mentioned above. I have contacted (opened account with) american Honda motor CO. They did not call back.

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/11/2010

I have less than 65,000 miles on my car. It has received regular scheduled maintenance from the Honda dealership. After replacing the 4 original michelen tires @ 38,000 miles I have had to replace the rear tires 3 additional times. The car has an extremely loud "humming" noise coming from the rear end. It eats up the rear tires quickly, which cause the car to mishandle. Each new set of rear tires wears out more quickly than the previous ones. I just bought the 4th new set of rear tires on 12/18/2011, drove down to the los angeles area from sacramento. When I returned, I went to the tire store where I purchased the new tires, to gage/check out any possible wear that may have occured on the trip. At less than 1000 miles (850 of these being highway miles), the new rear tires were already down to 8/32. The humming noise is so loud you can not have a normal conversation in the car, or hear a siren for that matter and the steering appears to be/feel loose. I am afraid to drive this car any short/long distance.

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2010

Car is very unstable when subjected to crosswinds. Steering corrections have to be constantly made to keep the car on course. This is extremely dangerous as overcorrections can happen. I notice other similar size cars I'm following on the highway in the same conditions are not nearly affected as I am. I purchased the car used with 60k miles back in 10/2010 and it has always been a problem. I had the rear upper suspension arms replaced (at my expense) with an aftermarket brand to correct the caster problem back into specification and the tires have been replaced but this has not made any difference in the way the car handles in side wind conditions.

23 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2009

2007 Honda Civics eat up tires. Something is wrong with the suspension of the car that causes the tires to wear at unevenly and dangerously quick. We only get 1/3 of the warranty life of tires and when we replace the technicians tell us the tires are unsafe to drive on. They are worn unevenly, blistered on the inside so much that wires are sticking through. This is a common complaint for this vehicle.

24 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 03/31/2009

I have to replace the tires every 30000 miles due to uneven tire wear. I guess there is a known problem with a faulty rear arms that Honda keeps ignoring after so many complaints. Sure way to lose customers when you pride your self in quality but not delivering.

25 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2009

I purchased a slightly used Civic from a dealer in January of 2009 and began to drive it on icy roads in ontario winter. My wife who usually drives the car complained she was scared to drive it if there was any ice on the road surface because the car would suddenly shift position sideways in the lane. I found the rear tires worn out very fast on the inside of both wheels. I did some research and found out Honda had issued a service bulletin to replace the rear upper struts with a longer unit. The dealer did not disclose this information when I bought the car but after I brought it up volunteered to replace them and negotiated with me for half the replacement cost of the tires. I thought this would solve the problem. The next set of rear tires also wore prematurely on the inside in about 25000 miles. When I called the Honda dealer he told me I needed an alignment. I paid for an alignment at an independent garage and was told the real wheels could not b adjusted to correct the negative camber. I went back to the dealer who told me that Honda did not recognize this defect and the warranty would not cover any remedy. He did a free realignment for me with difficulty and said to rotate my tires more often. I tried that and my next set of tires wore out on the inside just the same. The dealer did say there was an aftermarket part that may correct the problem but I would have to pay for the installation ($600). I have about 180000 kilometers on the vehicle. The vehicle makes rear noise and the vibration cannot be good for the vehicle. This could be a safety issue.

26 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2008

I am on my 3rd set of tires on a car that has 58,000 miles. Research shows that this is a common problem on Honda Civics for 2006-2007. There seems to be a problem/defect in the design of the car and Honda is not standing behind their product. We need help.

27 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2008

2007 Honda Civic lx vibrates excessively at approximately 70 mph shaking driver and passengers to the point that conversation via bluetooth hands free device is greatly impaired. The vibration has already led to early tire wear and the vehicle pulls to the right when driving. I have already paid for wheel alignment twice and replaced both rear tires once and a second rear tire a second time seemingly due to this problem. I also fear damage to the vehicle or that there will be threatened vehicle safety, as the car feels like it is shaking apart at times. The vibration/shaking occurs all times that the vehicle approaches 70 mph and many times at slower speeds. On-line research has shown a too-short rear arm in the vehicle suspension causing a number of similar problems in several 2007 vehicles. Honda has so far shown no acknowledgement of a problem in this arena nor offered to do anything about it.

28 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2008

Rear tire wear to the belts. No adjustment of camber possible. Owner has no way to prevent this dangerous and expensive wear. These vehicle should all be recalled and rear camber adjustable components installed regardless of vehicle miles. Wear happens very quickly and is not shown at all on the front tires which have a fully adjustable suspension.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. While driving 10 mph, the contact heard a loud rattling and roaring noise coming from the tires. 30 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2008

Jan. 14, 2008, while driving my 2007 Honda Civic, I notice at 55mph the Civic vibrate and make an unusual noise. I took my Civic into my local Honda dealership on Jan. 16, 2008 for complaints about vibration at 55mph and clicking when trying to start my Civic. There was no problem found on the clicking, when I arrived I had the service writer to come out and listen to the clicking, the service writer agreed there was clicking. The other issue of vibration when at 55mph I was advised Honda will contact me once a repair is available on the service customer copy form. Also, the service writer told me over the phone there had been numerous complaints about this issue Honda would repair the problem, the problem is causing my tires to wear uneven and I was going to get new tires.

32 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/30/2007

I have purchased, in the last 5 years, 5 different sets of tires because of ¿cupping of my rear tires due to a defect in the rear suspension. I was told on 2 occasions by 2 different Honda dealers that the problem in my rear suspension had been solved. The last service was 10 months ago; I purchased my fifth set of tires and now have to replace them again.

33 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact heard a loud noise underneath the vehicle. He also noticed that the tires were tilted inward as if the alignment was incorrect. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they performed an alignment without his authorization and without having a zone representative inspect the vehicle to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle is currently in the repair shop. The current mileage was 2,382 and failure mileage was 1,780.

Increasingly worse rear tire noise. Dealer says normal. Eventual first oil change and dealer admits to tech. Svc. Bulletin. 4hrs labor (no loaner) and hard sell to replace tires for $300 aprox. Since this was my fault(?) sun visor failed and has become a hazard with no remedy available, only another defective visor.

The contact owns a 2007 Honda Civic si. While driving at approximate speeds of 50 mph, the front passenger side tire blew out without warning. The next week, the rear driver side tire blew out suddenly. Upon further inspection, the contact believed the failure to be attributed to the manner in which the tires were mounted to the vehicle. The dealer advised the vehicle would need a specific unknown tire and an alignment. The contact confirmed the failure persisted and the dealer was unable to determine the exact cause of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,000 and current mileage was 75,000.
