While driving at a normal highway speed, with all windows rolled up, a/c on, the rear passenger side window exploded. This was on a well paved, straight piece of highway. There were no other cars around, driver was in the far-right lane, and there was no evidence of foul play, cracks, chips or breakage in the window prior to this happening. Glass blew all over the back seat and there are just a few pieces of glass still hanging where the window once was. This was a frightening experience and had this been a front window, it could have been extremely serious. Cause is unknown.
I own a 2009 4 door Honda Civic. I bought it in December 2009. Among some other problems, including the airbags, in 2012 the driver side sun visor developed a crack and then felt apart. I took it to Honda dealer and they replaced it free of charge, but now the same replacement have developed the same identical crack and the metal parts are coming apart in the back of the visor. I called Honda and they said that it is now my responsibility and have to replace it at my own expense. This does not seem fair to me because the problem is in the manufacturing of the visor and if I have to spend almost $200 to replace it, there is no guarantee that the same issue does not come up again, because Honda has failed to address the real issue of the workmanship of their visors. My car's VIN number is 2hgfa16569h319915 sincerely yours, aziz ansary aansary@hotmail. Com phone 703-266-2127 6339 mary todd CT centreville, va 20121.
While driving the passenger side sun suddenly flipped/fell down and was just swinging. It seems that the inside of the visor somehow melted/cracked, and the visor became disconnected and loose while driving. I am thankful it was not the driver side visor, as it would have likely hit me in the face/obscured my vision and potentially resulted in an accident. There have been several recalls for Honda sun visors; however when I took my car into the Honda dealership where I purchased the car brand new, they told my my year/model was not a part of the recall.
I was at a red light waiting for the green light to turn to the left. When the green light appeared, I accelerated at a speed of 15 when out of no where I heard a boom sound coming from the engine. This seem very abnormal to me since I had barely purchase my car 4 months ago. I took my car to the Honda dealer to see what was going on with my car. After waiting a few hours, the mechanic told me there were many things wrong with the car. The boom sound was made by the breakage of the wishbone that holds the lower engine and besides that it needed 2 tires, alignment, cabinfilter, brake flush, p/s rack. I honestly don't think it is fair to me that I bought a 2009 car for it to have this many problems. When I bought my car the man from auto plaza told me that I wouldn't be having any problems with my car for a long time and then I find out all of this parts wrong with my car. After this incident, I went to talk to the man from auto plaza and he told me that when they had purchase the car they didn't inspect it before putting it on sale. This action seems to me very irresponsible to not have inspected the car before putting it on sale. I honestly didn't know what else to do and this is why I'm writing a complaint here. Please help me with my situation.
In 2011, my driver side visor cracked/split and was hanging halfway, affecting my view. I took it to the Honda dealership, and they replaced at no charge October 24 2011. Not even a week ago, the same thing happened to the new driver side visor. I called Honda, took it to them today (08/15/2013). They wanted to charge me 95 dollars!!!! really?!!! there is obviously something wrong with these visors. I have done my research and plenty of people are complaining about the same thing. I called the Honda corporate office and they said there was nothing that they could do. The visor I got replace only had a 12,000 mile or one year warranty. That is ridiculous. These visors are obviously made with cheap plastic that is not made to last. So I have to spend almost 100 dollars every year and a half in order to be able to see while I am driving? there needs to be a recall and they should replace all visors at their cost. Maybe it might force them to provide visors that are safe and will last. I am going to look online also to see if there are any petitions. Please make Honda have a recall on these visors so we can all see while driving without having to spend an extra 100 dollars every year or two. It is not the consumers fault.
