Side airbag needs to be replaced based on dealer diagnostic.
I keep getting the light of "side air bag off" on my dash come on and off. It has been doing for about 1yr.
Takata recall - I received a notice from Honda that my airbag has been recalled. I called to schedule an appointment to have it fix. I was told by superior Honda that it will be a few weeks before the part is available and another few weeks until they can get my car in to be fixed. I was then told that it's not that big of a deal since it was just my passenger airbag. I explained to the service tech that if it wasn't a big deal there wouldn't have been a recall on the part. He then told me that there was nothing else he could do for me. He could not provide me with a rental car but continued to tell me that it was no big deal and if I had any further questions to call Honda corporate office. I understand that it is the passenger side airbag but I feel like they should have been able to provide me with a date of when this issue would be resolved. I understand that this recall effected many vehicles but this issue is not being resolved as fast as it should be. I have spoken to many people who have the same issue and many of them have been provide with rental cars due to the fact it going to take longer than normal to fix. I feel like superior Honda could have done more for me instead of telling me that it was "no big deal". I am very unhappy with this dealership.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Civic ex. While the contact was driving approximately 40 mph into an intersection, an opposing vehicle crashed head on unexpectedly. The contact sustained severe torso injuries and fractured three ribs. There was also injury to both knees and a laceration to the liver. The contact stated that the force of the driver side air bag deployment resulted in extensive injuries to the body. The vehicle was declared destroyed and towed to a savage facility. The contact planned to notify the manufacturer of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 24,000.
The driver's side airbag deployed while driving about five miles per hour in downtown philadelphia. No impact happened, no pothole was hit. The Honda place where I lease the car is blaming it on a 4 inch square piece of asphalt stuck somewhere under the car. That did not happen when the airbag depolyed. My insurance company has filed a claim and will examine the car.
I was the driver of a 2009 Honda Civic ex coupe. I was at a red light and I had came to a complete stop and I got rear ended and pushed into the vehicle in front of me very hard to the point where my insurance company even declared my vehicle a total loss. I have neck injuries and possibly soft tissue injuries from the impact of how I was hit (whiplash). I am going to therapy (chiropractor and physical therapy because I am in alot of pain every day. The air bags did not deploy/ and my husband who was the passenger got hurt too.
