Bought 2010 Honda civc in the early part of 2010. At the end of the 2010i was told that I need to replace the brakes (over $ 200. 00). It is now the end of 2011 and I am being told that I need to replace the brakes again. My car doesn't even have 35000 miles on it and is barely 2 years old. I called Honda to see if the brakes I bought in 2010 were still under warranty. The representative informed me that they were not and I would have to purchase new brakes.
Brakes wear out too fast: 1st time was at 15000 miles and not\w need again at 32000 miles. I googled website and found many has same problem. Something wrong with the car's brake system. The maker should take responsibility.
Since purchasing my 2010 Honda Civic new, I have had to replace the front brakes twice, first at 8,044 miles and just recently again at 15,770 miles. It is apparent this model has a problem with premature brake wear that Honda has refused to address.
I had to replace the brakes on my Honda a year after purchase. No matter what breaks I replace them with the brakes seam to wear-out very fast. Since my purchase in 2010 I have replaced the breaks on the Honda several times (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016), it almost seams to be needing replacement every year. Also since 2013, the paint on the car seams to be pealing, cracking, and has became very cloudy. I will not purchase a Honda again.
I have a 2010 Honda Civic that I leased in may of 2010. It is now January 3, 2013 and I have changed the brakes 3 times already. There is definitely a problem with the brakes wearing too immaturely.
Tech at Honda service dealer found front brake-pad wear and recommended replacement ($325 + tax). I think it is premature for a 16k mileage car.
I have a 2010 Honda Civic with 70,000 miles on it. I have already replace the brakes twice and at my oil change today the mechanic informed me that I would need to replace the brakes again. This will be the third time in 2 1/2 years that I have had to replace the brakes. Each time it has been an out of pocket expense and Honda has accepted no responsibility.
I have a 2010 Honda Civic lx that I purchased brand new in Aug 2010. There is an issue with the braking system. I was at about 15,000 miles when the brakes started to make a squealing sound. I contacted Honda metro in jersey city, NJ. They stated that it is the manner in which I drive my car. I disputed this with the individual over the phone bc to change the brakes at only 15k miles is completely unheard of. I ended up having my father go to have the issue checked anyway by them. They stated that my brakes were dirty and needed a cleaning. Well soon after that my brakes started doing the same noise again. My guess is that they sprayed it with noise dampening spray. Anyway, I have looked this up online and there are more people out there that are having the same issue. Before someone dies can you please push them to fix this issue. They know about it and they do nothing!!!! thank you so much!.
Premature brake system wear after only 15,000 mi of conservative city driving in the span of 12 months.
My vehicle wasn't even a year old and I was told that I need new brakes. The mechanic showed me the brakes and the rotor. I was metal to metal. Of course I had no choice but to purchase brakes for my new car. I also mention to the mechanic how my vehicle hesitated on occasion. Nothing was ever found with that.
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Civic. The contact was driving 30 mph when a squealing noise emitted from the brakes after being depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the dealer confirmed that the brakes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 8,000 and the current mileage was 26,000.
Pressing the brake pedal also engages the accelerator pedal causing the vehicle to try to move when only the brake pedal is applied. If you press the left side of the brake pedal it doesn't occur however in heavy traffic you always don't have time to make sure you are only pressing the left side of the brake pedal. It almost caused me to have an accident when I first bought the car. I don't feel safe driving the car. ## VIN passed ## Honda Civic 2010 ##.
Brake does not function well. I have to push it hard to have enough power to stop even when the speed is very low. I also notice that when the air condition is on, brake works worse. I believe there might be a self-acceleration problem especially when the air condition is on.
My car failed to stop and bumped to the back of the car that in front of me at slow speed about 3mph.
The brakes pull and make tremendous noise when stopping short and they pull and make noise when turning at normal speeds. They rumble, screech, and skid. It feels like something is sticking. The car is getting 17 to 20 miles to the gallon on surface streets and freeways without the air-conditioning. An independent mechanic says there is something wrong with the brake system and Honda says all the cars do it, so it isn't a lemon. The Honda Civic I test drove did not do it. Also, there was some bent metal underneath the car toward the center. The car had 11 miles on it when I bought it new and it could have been dropped when unloading it from the trailer. The salesman worked hard to sell me this particular car. It frightens me and it frightens my parents when we drive in it. I do not think it is safe and I feel there is a serious accident waiting to happen when the brakes go out.
