Yesterday the check airbag system light was illuminated on my 2014 Honda. After having a mechanic check the error code, he confirmed there is an issue with my airbag inflator. My vehicle has approximately 75,000 miles and is driven approximately once a week. The issue occurred when I turned my vehicle on and started driving.
Check airbag system alert comes on and off while driving. Upon bringing it into the dealer, I (the owner) owner was told that codes 11-10 and 11-18 (airbag module and inflator) on driver side, and it is not covered by warranty. If the vehicle is involved in an accident, the driver side airbag will not deploy.
Check airbag system light would come on sporadically. Dealership said spiral cable and airbag inflator had to be replaced. Not under recall or warranty. Owners responsibility $1343. 99. Would mark vehicle unsafe if removed from dealership without repair. How does this just happen?.
